Runs any game on ultra settings even with Ray tracing. For those who wonder, RTX 4090 Laptop = RTX 3090ti Desktop. Still a beast of a GPU. RDR2 runs over 80fps even with ultra settings enabled. Not to mention runs on a good and smooth display QHD, 240Hz. Oh, and the thermals are pretty good which is impressive. UPDATE: After 2 weeks of using, I noticed something after I have been reading different reviews, saying there is this static noise coming from speakers but doesn't seem to be coil whine. Upon experimenting turns out the noise comes only when the GPU is on Ultimate mode in the Armoury Crate app. Turns out it is coil whine. In case you don't know, GPU Ultimate is the MUX Switch. But If on Standard mode, you will see that the noise that feels static is gone. Standard GPU is powerful to run games though. Heard BIOS updates could fix the coil whine, so hopefully it’s just a Bios issue. About backlight bleeding, no backlight bleed so far on my screen, still crispy clear. Will be updating as soon as I find something new to share. After using for over 1 month ~ UPDATE 10 April 2023: DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP. COIL WHINE IS VERY BAD AND UGLY THAT YOU WONT BE ABLE TO USE IT ON BATTERY MODE BECAUSE ITS SO ANNOYING. THE SCREEN IS NOT MINI LED AND BELIEVE ME THE DIFFERENCE IS DAY AND NIGHT. THE BIOS IS JUST WAAAAY BEHIND AND BUGGED. THE F KEYS ONLY SHOW RGB FOR THE FUNCTION BUT NOT FOR THE F LETTERS??? For now, skip ASUS laptops this year because they are getting TOTALLY careless about their Quality Control. I talked to the support about the coil whine, that its very annoying and i couldnt stand it and cant even use it on battery mode when im around people because of it and if they can send me a replacement. They replied: "Regrettably it is normal." and then they copy pasted "what is coil whine" from their website (https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1035838/). IT IS NORMAL??? Apparently ASUS thinks that it is normal for the hardware to make a screeching sound like a banshee even on battery. I am done. I complain about noise and they reply about hardware not getting damaged...someone pays around 4000 dollars just to hear bees having a **** in the motherboard. 4000 dollars down the drain but at least not in vain. Now i know that this is the first AND DEFINITELY LAST TIME to buy from ASUS. If anyone asks about ASUS Scar 18 tell them to avoid it as well as ASUS Duo 16 and ASUS G18 and ASUS Scar 16. Yes I know that there are some people saying the coil whine is gone after 2 weeks, but until now i havent seen any proof of no coil whine Scar 18. So not worth taking the risk, as from my experience I waited for over 2 weeks and still no changes, plus I cant return the laptop to Amazon because 15 days already passed and the return window is closed.
