This little unit has quite a lot for a small package. The blades and graded selector are very simple and intuitive to use and operate. A few simple push clicks and you'll be ready in a few minutes. The charging and base is simple too. It's USB to figure of eight connection. I used my phone charger and worked fine for this purpose. When it is in use you can clearly see the power left indicator, directly beneath the power on/off button display. I did find using the smallest of the blades decent and wanted to see how close to a clean shave look I could get. It got close to be able to trim away the hair. Though it wasn't as good as a clean shave from a shaver blade. Or even say using a foil shaver. (E.g you'll have a bit of stubble left) Another thing that you'll need to be aware of is cleaning the blades as there isn't a applicator brush included to remove the fine hair off the blade. Yes you can rinse under a tap but doesn't quite get all of it out. The graded selector was a treat to use, though you find it works best in one direction, which is pushing the unit forwards rather than backward on the skin. Using it backward, pulling the shaver down on the skin, the graded trimmer combs get bigger so you miss out on that same level of cut. Something I was really impressed about was the blades ability to manoeuvre over skin. It feels easy and glides smoothly and I didn't cut myself. This was even when I tried without the graded blade, though took it easy when in use. Overall as something that will get you as close to a clean shave it's a neat idea. Not a straight replacement. I feel it's worth is more in shaping and trimming. Read more

Clearly aimed at men who tend to have longer thicker hair this one blade system works extremely well . At first the various plastic blade attachments seem flimsy and a bit fiddly but in reality they are easy to use and strong and robust even when cutting the thickest beard hairs . The comb (20 length) for beard trimming has a double sided blade , neatly trims the beard to the required length with the blade swivelling in all directions for ease of use . No contortionism is needed to get to the areas you need although it was only tested around the ears and cheek area as the beard hair from the chin is kept longer and didn’t require trimming . The flat edge works well for precise cutting and styling . Theres a clear digital display of battery power left , it charges in about an hour and you get at least twice that time in use. After a month of regular use the blade still seems sharp , apparently lasting up to 4 months ,there is an eject icon when it’s time for a new one . Philips seem to have thought of everything. For someone who doesn’t normally shave every day, and I sometimes leave it for a week or so, the different shaving heads with this Philips OneBlade are ideal for my situation. The shaver is smaller than previous ones I’ve tried, so I had a bit of doubt whether it would be as good as other shavers. I needn’t have worried as from using the beard trimmer to leave a bit of stubble, to a close shave, it performed just as expected and was quick in the process of doing it. Shaving heads are simple to fit and replace, and the little case keeps them all in one place, so no accessories are lost. Because I don’t shave every day, one full charge of this lasts me for weeks, and with the bright easy to see display, I know when to recharge it. Read more

I have very sensitive skin and have never found the perfect shaving solution for me. I got tired of the labour of using a double-edge razor, and various kinds and brands of electric shavers seemed to do a pretty poor job of giving me a decent shave. For a while now I’d just been alternating between neglecting my facial hair and using a body hair trimmer with the guard off to give it a buzz cut !! Having used the OneBlade, I’m very impressed. My facial hair had been growing for weeks so was about 1cm in length, but a single pass with the OneBlade already did a surprisingly great job at clearing it. Only those awkward spots on the neck really needed anything beyond a second pass. The result of course wasn’t totally baby smooth like a safety razor but came surprisingly close. I think it’s the best shaving solution I’ve used in terms of the balance of efficacy, convenience and ease. My skin was fairly irritated after using it dry as recommended, but there’s nothing that wouldn’t irritate my skin, and it can be used with shaving cream as well. I had to look up some videos on fitting the parts together, because it does all feel quite fragile and I felt like I might end up snapping things by trying what felt intuitively right. The wordless diagram-based instructions aren’t the most enlightening I’ve seen. My only real criticism is more based on Philips’ practices than the OneBlade itself. I find the abundance of different model numbers (eg QP6652/30, QP2734/20, QP6542/15, ad infinitum) quite confusing and the differences beyond different attachments and accessories aren’t immediately clear. I read a post from someone who said they’d contacted Philips support and been told about motor and battery differences between models, which hadn’t been immediately clear from their online description. That’s why I felt compelled to buy this model—the most expensive one with the Biggest Numbers I could find on Amazon—even though I just want to use it for my face and will probably never use any of the accessories. First impressions on using it were great and in the weeks since it has been very fast to use; After using it for several weeks, I really am impressed with how fast it shaves and how convenient it is to used, even compared to other really high end shavers which take forever to do neck area etc, this shaver is rapid. And relatively irritation free compared to other shavers I have used - yes my neck area does get a little red but it's gone quite fast and no lasting irritation or bumps etc. I think what helps with this - and with how fast it is at shaving - is how flexible the blade is as it moves around in all angles to meet the neck and other areas, jawline etc - which other electric shavers I have used did not. All of the separate attachments included are great too, I use the one with different settings for my eyebrows, body hair areas etc, although I use without any attachments for the hair growing in my nose and ear which is good at clearing the hair from them. Value wise, I think the shaver is excellent because I can't differentiate it from another super premium one I own which was more than double this listing, in fact it shaves a lot quicker. Read more
