This is a very well polished dock. These days there's many choices to these type of docks. After using this dock I have put together some pros and cons of this one to help you decide is this is for you. Pros: -HDMI outputs at 4k60. -high quatily construction, razer is known for. -the USB c cable is longer than your average dock which makes it easier to connect to various handhelds and mobile devices. -100w pass through which helps devices get full power, such as the ROG Ally which can run in turbo mode with this dock. -the slot to place your device has a plate attatched to a hinge which means you can increase or decrease the width of the slot which makes it easier to put thicker devices, like a handheld with a case on it or something as thin as a phone into the stand. -if you aren't using the stand, it folds flat and the device doesn't look out of place when using with a laptop. -rgb light is a nice touch. Some potential cons : -when dock is connected it prompts to install some razer software to control the rbg light. The directions aren't clear on which of the softwares are necessary for the light and which are bloat ware. Also adding another program to your startup is just one more resource hog. -cheaper options available that do almost all the same things as this dock. Apart from build quality. Overall I think it's nice to have an established brand putting out a dock like this. It's good to have an option from a brand I trust. You may be paying a premium but I think you won't be disappointed and it does what it says. With other options compatibility can be an issue. Read more

The Razer Handheld Dock Chroma is a great way to add peripherals and advanced connectivity to handheld devices or personal computers. I personally own quite a few Razer devices and have come to expect a certain degree of features, reliability and compatibility. In terms of build quality, the body of the dock is solid, a similar construction to other docks I own for my various PCs/Macs from Dell and HP. The dock includes an attached USB-C cable with a 90-degree plug that measures approximately 8-inches. I personally would have preferred a removable cable for this attachment to allow more customization in how the device is used, but this is sufficient for most use cases such as phones or handheld devices. The onboard ports include 3 USB-A, 10/100/1000 RJ45 Ethernet, and an HDMI to connect to a display. There is an additional USB-C port on the back, but it only works for power input to allow charging an attached device. I was surprised that a USB-C dock didn’t include at least 1 USB-C port for peripherals, and am also disappointed that no ports are located at the front of the dock where there is plenty of open space. I like that the dock can be "closed" by keeping the hinge lowered. In this mode, it can easily double as a USB-C docking station for any device. I was able to test it with my M3 Mac and had no issues with the Ethernet being detected out of the box with no additional software being installed. It was even able to properly charge my Mac when the dock was powered with the USB-C input. When the hinge is raised, it doubles as a rear support for the device. The hinge itself is made of metal with a rubberized coating on the front. It has a good amount of resistance, but I found that a lot of leverage can make it not as supportive as I would have liked. For example, if an iPad Pro is attached, a bit of pressure at the top of the iPad an cause the hinge to rotate. Including some ability to "lock" the hinge in a specific location would have been a nice feature, though most people will be using a dock such as this for a smaller hand-held device. In terms of connectivity, I was unable to get this device recognized with my usual RGB software, SignalRGB which is compatible with most Razer products, though this is not a serious factor for this device as it's not intended to be directly used with a PC, but rather a handheld device. USBC port is hard connected to the dock (no switching out). Tries to force install Razer Synapse when game system is connected to the USB-C port, though it's not required but you'll be stuck with the stock chroma lighting settings. Chroma lighting is only on when the game console is plugged in AND turned on. Otherwise the lighting turns off and there appears to be no way to turn that on. The dock feels well built and has a good heft to it so it won't accidentally tip over when inserting the game device. Read more

It’s a dock. I use it with my ROG Ally, I originally used the official ROG dock. It was good but didn’t have many USB ports nor an Ethernet port. This one both has more USB ports and Ethernet port (and RBG). $20 difference between the ROG and Razer and i’d pick this one. If you’ve used Razer products before, you know the software is bad but it doesn’t need Synapse to work. Plug in and ready to go. Read more
