Overall, this is an excellent NVME case, with solid speeds off around 580MB/s on the read and the write. but I couldn't help noticing that the lid of the case doesn't make perfect contact with the elements that needs to be flat against so it can properly cool them. The controller and the memory chips, mainly the controller. So I added a bit of sticky notes cut to the size to keep the lid from bending downwards the NVME drive board, therefore improving the contact and cooling. This is a design problem that could be solved if the manufacturer included a pad for the NVME board to rest upon. Currently the drive is suspended mid air while the lid pushes down on it. Also, I noticed when using the thermal camera, that only the small lid gets pretty warm after 4 or 5 minutes off heavy operations, but mainly the small lid, not the opposite solid lid. This is another design problem, or we could call it a missed opportunity, as the drive is dissipating heat into the small lid not the big one. It could potentially overheat at the rate that it was going my test during my test. It would be more effective to have the drive dissipate heat against the bigger lid and thus increase the thermal buffer just by its mass compared to dissipating against the small lid. Read more

This thing is a tank. You are building your own rugged storage. Which compared to how much you would pay for a prebuilt rugged drive makes this a huge bargain. Plus they offer a model with the highest usb transfer speeds. It is a but heavier than other enclosures but that is a sign of quality here. It is also bulkier but has phone clap holder compatibility and is roughly the size of other rugged portable ssds. Read more

It is not exactly toolless. You will need to safe keep the metal pin to open the 4 screws. If you lost it, then even god can't help. Other than that it works fine, as of now (after about a month of use). Speed will be based on your usb port (max will be 2.5GBps or less only). Read more
