I wonder why Tesla no longer supplies their mobile charger with a dryer connector? More useful I would think than the RV outlet connector they do supply. I don't know why the US has so many different 240v plugs, but when you need to plug in, it's good to have the correct adapter to do it. The female end of this adapter fits the Tesla Mobile connector and this adapter fits one of the many plugs that you can find. I'm trying to get a full set so I'll be ready for any plug. I got this adapter to have another charging option on the road. I like to get off of the beaten path and have had a couple of instances where it was questionable whether I was going to get to my destinations before I ran out of charge. Having this adapter will give me a little more peace of mind since dryer receptacles are more common than NEMA 14-50. I did plug it in at home to confirm that it was functional. I don't know if I will ever actually use it so durability isn't an issue, however, it seems solidly built. Since some plugs are really tight, I like that it has a nice pull-handle. The wire is short and that keeps the overall length short. I have another adapter that has a longer wire and it is really bulky and hard to store. This seems like a fine item. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5, not because there's anything wrong with it, but because there's not really anything outstanding about it. When I had my electrician install a 240 v plug in my garage as the solar guys installed 28 panels on my roof six years ago, I didn't know enough about what I needed. I just knew that I wanted the 240v to run into my garage so that I can eventually buy an electric car and plug it into the 240v. Well, the electrician installed a conventional washer 240 plug and that would end up not being a fit with the Audi Etron EV I just purchased. So I ordered this converter and voila, now I can charge directly at a decent speed. I will eventually upgrade this line to make it charge at full speed, but until then, this converter allows me to to fully charge my car in about 12 hours. And it's all free. Read more
