I'm a trumpet player of over 25 yrs, had a drum kit for a year 2 decades ago (still drum with my hands of course) and never owned a proper piano but have had access to keys of some sort off and on. Music is important to me. I was hoping for low enough lag to play drums on iPad but no such luck. I was hoping for a long range connection but they don't do that either - gotta stay close to your phone. That's the cons. Now, the pros. These are called clarity for a reason. They have a bit of that 50s tube amp quality that lets you hear the extras without jamming sharp trebles in your ears. Are they perfect? Well no, you can always have a little bit more, but I see no reason to gamble more money and the slim chance of better sound. No gimmicky features, just great sound for surfing your phone at the bar or walking down the street. Gotta take one out to talk to people, so no transparency feature like the $250 apple buds. I was very pleasantly surprised by these earbuds. I have a set of Sony WH - 1000XM3s headsets to use when I want noise cancellation to escape the world around me and listen to HD/MQ audio. The only problem is they make my ears sweat and start to annoy me after wearing them for prolonged periods. I was searching for good quality earbuds to use when I didn't want to wear the Sony headset. A little background for context. I bought my wife a set of Jabra Elite Active 65T's which are nice, but seemed to lack in volume and audio quality for what I was looking for. They replaced a pair of Beats Powerbeats 3 that crapped out on my wife in a years time, once the warranty ran out. The Beats had descent sound, but were not true wireless, and now I have trust issues with their quality. I paid more than twice the price of the Monster earbuds for the Beats and Jabra's, but neither one can compare to the Monsters for sound quality. The monsters sounded qreat right out of the box, without having to mess with any eq settings. They have a very nice balanced sound, not flat at all, more of a happy you curve, with really good bass and presence. They sound very alive with some air, not flat or lifeless at all. They don't have that inflated, over pronounced bass that mutes the mids, but a nice tight bass that is present, with vocals that stand out, and a crisp highend. They sounded very good with any thing I played on Tidal and Amazon Music HD. I listen to everything from classic rock, heavy metal, to pop. Everything had a nice presence and sound. I was very impressed with how they handled Demi Lovatos Anyone. The piano and her voice had air and space, it sounded very intimate, and very dynamic. My phone is a LG G8 thinq with Bluetooth set to FLAC. If your looking for true wireless earbuds with great audio and don't need all the bells and whistles, look no further, grab these before they realize how great these are and raise the price. You really don't need noise cancellation with true wireless earbuds like these because the natural seal in your ear will isolate all the outside sounds. I have had other Monster branded items, speakers, and decided to give a mid range headphones a try. open the box carefully, you twist not pull the top of the charger! my ear pieces were loose in the box. I tried the default (smaller ear piece) it let in a lot of background noise and always felt like it was going to fall out (only did once). Swapped out for the larger tip and they fit great. There is no app to download which I love. They are not too heavy and mostly stay out of the way of my face mask. I can go thru a full workout, about 3 hours, and still had plenty of battery left. These do still let in background noise at the gym, even with the snugger fit. I have to take one out to hear what someone says to me, so it does take out some of the noise. The buttons stop/start the music from the headphones. you can feel the click. the product description says these are water proof, but don't shower in them. I have worn them and sweat a lot in them and they seem to be holding up OK. The carrying case and charger for the headphones is usb-c which is awesome. Phone calls were pretty good. sound from both ear pieces and decent job of filtering out the background noise. People could tell I was at the gym. for me the downsides My pair have a hard time syncing with my iPhone. I have to go into the settings and resync. The highs on the music can be too high., not a huge amount of bass. This is a fantastic set of wireless bluetooth earbuds. In terms of sound quality these headphones are good. You get a decently loud sound and dynamic range for a reasonable price. It has built-in noise cancellation that work decently well to block out sound. Tried a few different styles of songs, some louder, some softer. Overall very good. The charger is very compact and sturdy and has a built in battery and lights to indicate charge. This means it can charge the headphones on-the-go without a usb charger for at least one full cycle. It comes also with a cable to charge the case where you keep the earbuds. A nice to have is that they include 2 sets (4 individual) replacement rubber ear holders. I used these while working, cleaning, jogging, workout, etc. Was able to have some phone calls with the built-in microphone. Overall never had disconnection issues even when fairly far away from the source. When batteries got low, which took quite some time, they alerted me with voice prompts. If you charge these every night you should have no problems at all. These headphones also have decent IPX5 waterproof rating but I have not tested this personally. Only downside is that for very tiny ears they might be a bit large. Overall this is very solid value. I've owned 3 true wireless earbuds in the past, LG (which were good but died), Airpods (have HORRIBLE sound quality despite the good reviews, there is NO treble, I mean NONE, you can barely hear cymbols) and now these Monsters. The LGs sounded great, but they did die on me, but I did have them for a couple years and they were given to me. I also use Grado SR250's as my normal headphones and those have excellent clarity to the sound, nothing I have ever heard sounds better than these. So I got these Monsters for my daily walks and exercise as the Grado's are not good for that. They have not disappointed me. The Monsters have exceeded my expectations. I got them $20 off, so for $60. These are significantly better than my Airpods. I got these Monsters because the Airpods sounded like someone put a wall in front of the speaker, and had nearly NO treble, the sound is muddy, tinty and the only good aspect is the bass response, but overall, they are terrible earbuds. I was given these, but had I bought them, I would have returned them because they are terrible. Yes, they connect well and are easy to use, but so are the Monsters... See below: Pros: Excellent soundstage, the sound isn't restrained to the left and right. I can hear depth to the sound that I haven't heard in earbuds before. The frequency response is excellent with a flat, equal sound to all frequencies. The bass is not boomy, but more tight and punchy. The mids are excellent that has good clarity to vocals, excellent transients, and I can hear much more of the sound than my AirPods 2. Treble is excellent. Crisp cymbals, no sibilance in the vocals, and unlike the Airpods which are terrible (nearly no treble at all) blends well with the mids/bass. Earbuds are very comfy (unlike Airpods) and don't get irritating after long walks. They appear to be built just as good as the AirPods (their only pro), and the battery seems rock solid and the case has abundant reserve. Cons: None thus far, I haven't used them for more than a week. If they last, these are the best earbuds for the price, hands down! These are the 4th pair of true wireless earbuds I've tried in the last 4-5 months (Mebuyz, Tranya T1, GRDE TWS). All had qualities I liked (long battery life and good sound are the most common), GRDE even had a charging case that charged my phone. However they all got sent back within 3 weeks for many of the same reasons. It was either the size of the earbuds or the lack of quality with the phone feature. These issues seem to be consistent amongst the vast majority of TWE in this price range. At $99, I would NOT have purchased this product. However when they went on sale for $45, I jumped on them. The Monster Clarity 101 earbuds come in a case that's quite slick. The case fits in a pocket very nicely. The sound is amazing. They're not as loud as other buds, but the quality of the sound is top notch. You get really good bass and a crisp overall sound; which more than makes up for the lack of loudness. By the way, loud does not always mean good. Some of the others were loud, but to the point that they hurt your ears and you have to turn them down. Clarity is a very appropriate name for these. It's apparent that the others are so big because they need the space for a bigger battery and/or the other components that give you the louder sound. These buds fit perfectly in my ear. The sport clip is a great added feature for stability and comfort. With the charging base, I get about 5 or 6 days total before I have to recharge. I listen/talk all day at work and they haven't died yet. I've found that the phone feature still leaves a bit to be desired, but works well enough. Seems to work better outside than in. Maybe because I'm able to talk louder outside, but if I have to talk at a regular tone or a bit lower, the person on the other end of the line has a hard time hearing me. Based on all the other benefits, this wasn't a deal breaker for me. The touch control buttons are quite responsive and the blue light around the buds look great to show charge, activity, etc. The Bluetooth strength is also 2nd to none. I love in a 3 story house. Left the phone on the top level and walked all the way to the basement with no disconnection or loss of sounds quality. Still played perfectly. I emailed customer service about a week ago to discuss phone issues, but no response. That's not cool. I may try back, but in the meantime, I'm loving these. They sound just as good and last longer than the Samsung buds. Got my son those for Christmas and he's jealous. Overall, I'm very satisfied with these buds. I’ve been using these earbuds for a couple weeks now and I have to say I’m quite pleased. I misplaced my Monster Victories one day and decided to give these bad boys a go. The airlinks are way better. Years ago I owned a pair of Sennheiser cx bts semi-wirelss earbuds and the experience is very close at almost the same price range. I spent $50ish more on the Sennheiser and they were only slightly better in terms of quality, so these are REALLY good at the current price. The main difference would be microphone quality rather than sound. I listen to music on a regular basis, so I care about sound quality. The earbuds provide a very pleasurable listening experience, block out a significant amount of noise (I won’t hear a truck coming until its practically right next to me and see it at the corner of my eye or a slight turn of the head, and even then its faint. I listen at about 50% volume on avg + wind from riding board at 30km/hr… so pay close attention to the streets and be safe when crossing). Plus, they fit VERY SNUG and tight in the ear. This is probably the best fit I’ve experienced. As a result, I pretty much have to take one out to have a conversation, like when ordering food, pausing the music isn’t enough. They are relatively easy to use, though it may take some practice to get used to the accuracy and time interval for double tapping to use volume controls, as you WILL accidentally pause the music every now and then (single tap). They case is beautiful and high quality. The earbuds look pretty good too. In terms of improvement, the microphone signal is to weak to use for voice calls on a regular basis. A quick chat in a quiet environment is okay, but otherwise I would not rely on these for calling. You can hear perfectly fine, but your conversation partner doesn’t hear you clearly. Your voice comes in at a low and inconsistent level. I would be willing to pay more to have a stronger, more reliable microphone on this pair. Then these would be more versatile, and practically perfect. I already have a designated Mpow headset for voice and video calls, so it doesn’t bother me too much. Connectivity is very simple, you do not have to manually turn them on and off. They turn on and connect when you remove them from the case, off when you put them back. Just don’t touch the flat surface again when they are in and charging. The monster manual doesn’t tell you how to manually turn them on and off, or reset the connectivity (if you want to unpair them and use them as two separate bluetooth devices or repair them to each other), but it can be done by holding them for a long time for power, and even longer for connectivity reset. In general, I’m very satisfied! I was bummed out when I lost my monster victories but now I’m glad they are gone because these have better sound, are truly wireless, and last way longer in terms of battery due to the charging case.
