We also enjoy creating a lot of social media content with our 5 year old son. The product arrived neatly packaged and in very good condition. The Boya BY-V3 set has exceptional audio quality and is suitable for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The simple plug and play functionality of the connector makes the setup easy and quick. The microphone is lightweight and appears to be well manufactured with no defects or marks. It provides 9 hours of power and continuous recording capability. The noise reduction (NR) feature is very effective and simple to use, ensuring a crystal clear voiceover. The receiver can be easily paired via Bluetooth and charged with the USB-C to lightning adapter. The device can be charged in as little as 2 hours and allows for up to 36 hours of usage. It has an impressive 328 ft range for 'walk and talk' videos or product demos. My husband has used it a few times to prepare bite-size tutorials and short clips of up to 5 minutes. These are easy to setup and clip on. The range is commendable, and the recordings are clear. The build quality is durable and it seems well made. The buttons are easy to find and press. The noise cancelling works, and the size is small enough to not interfere or be too visible. Overall, an above average offering for the value. This is an impressive wireless kit that punches well above its price point. No, it’s not quite professional recording studio quality, but you won’t find that at this price point. Out of the box, I’ll just say… make sure to turn on the noise cancelling. (NR button on the side of each mic) I found absolutely no negatives to using it, but even in a quiet environment, I got a little bit of hum in the recording without NR enabled. But don’t expect NR to be magic either. It minimizes most lower-level background noises. It won’t let you record a clear conversation standing next to a lawn mower. And while the wind screens are certainly better than nothing, they don’t hold up well to actual wind. You could always put something bigger/better on them, but then they wouldn’t fit nicely in the case. The range is great. I tested these in several environments, some with very heavy 2.4Ghz usage, and I didn’t have any cut outs or interference. I do have to point out one minor issue, which happens to be a big pet peeve of mine. The case holds the 2 mics and 1 receiver. Just 1. It comes with 2, one for USB-C and the other for Lightning. And they both fit in the case, just not at the same time. I guess they assume everyone will only be using this with the same recording device, and thus only need to carry one or the other at any given time. But I like to keep my essential parts together. And if the case was reconfigured just slightly, there would be room for the second transmitter without having to change the overall footprint.
