The Jamiewin Remote Control car has a bit of a learning curve, but functions just as advertized. It has three sound settings, but you can also mute these. It also comes with two remote control devices: The first is a standard joystick type of control, and the other is a very fun hand-motion control. You have to chose which control you wish to use each time since both cannot be used simultaneously. Simply turn off the car, turn on the control you want to use, then turn the car back on and it will pair with that control. There are two rechargable batteries for the car, but you'll need AAA and AA batteries for the two controls. Battery life for the car is around 30 minutes per charge, but it varies with the amount of usage. Features of the car (aside from the music :-) is that it can run low to the ground or elevate on the four wheels. It runs forward and back and can spin in place, but it also has a unique abililty to actually slide sideways due to the little "wheels within each wheel." Another neat feature is a button on the joystick control that allows you to create a stream of steam from the water you add to the rear section. Pretty cool. And of course there are lights everywhere! I was impressed at how consistently and accurately responsive the car was to the hand-motion controler. My grandkids will love that! Having said that, It is a toy that does come with a lot of instructions because of the many features. So for the younger child, it will take some time and patience to teach them how to use the two remote controls. I was also a bit disappointed that the car arrived with a bit of damage to the front - a red transparent "plug" was out of place, and could not be re-inserted without dismantling the front section. I purchased 4 of these (2 of this specific brand) for kids age 18mo, 3, 6 and 12. Every child was able to play with these without aid. They all swapped between the hand gesture device and the remote. The 18mo was was obsessed with the hand gesture device lol. (I guess it also depends on the maturity of ur 18mo old). Just be sure all the screws are tight and the small parts put away before h hand over the controls. Money well spent. They played inside and then went outside in the dark for an RC parade. They loved out their hand up or down made the car “dance” by stretching up or down. Just a great lil toy. Ty. Read more
