This silicone practice hand is so much better than the one I started out with many moons ago when I first went to school to be a nail tech back in the 90's (showing my age!)...things have definitely come a long way! I haven't learned new techniques in a long time (because...life) and want to learn gel nail techniques. So, I decided to get a practice hand to do them rather than try them on my own hands. When I started looking, expecting the old "hand on a pedestal", what I found instead was a bunch of robotic looking plastic hands which clip onto a table which had removable fingertips. These didn't really impress me at all. Then I saw this one. It looked more realistic, which I liked. Then, when it arrived, I saw that the nails, when put onto the hand, stay very well. The hand itself is very posable and movable as well. This will make it easier to learn and use it under a lamp. It comes with plenty of practice nails (200 clear and 200 opaque) and more can be purchased afterward (it's going to take me a long time to go through the 400 nails it came with). This nail practice hand is easy to use for a beginner like myself! I’ve been bouncing the idea around the past few weeks on getting my nail license to do nails professionally. I haven’t quite made up my mind as of yet because I’m also bouncing around some other ideas too. But, I’m glad I got this to try practicing on! The hand is made of quality. It’s easy to attach so you can maneuver it around to get it in comfortable positions. Nails are easily applied and stay on nicely. The fingers each have a wire or something like that in it because they totally stay where they are bent. The nails each have a slit in them to put the nail. The nail has a plastic part that slides into the slit and it holds it very tightly. Installation/setup: Attach hand to a table using the adjustable clamp, put fingernails in the finger slots. Apply acrylic nails, polishes, gels, etc. to practice application. Final thoughts: This is a really nice setup. I have had three other fake hands and each one of them were terrible. One had dark brown nails that totally changed the color of the polish I applied. I like this because the nails come in white or clear and I don’t have to coat them with white first. The nails stay on maybe a little too well, they are a bit hard to get off lol.
