I build and customize keyboards as a hobby, and I have to say this is the best pre-built board I have seen so far. As of writing this review, I have modded and customized six boards. From the build quality to the stabs it's perfect. I was planning on upgrading the stabs and lubing the switches but it does not need that at all. It is very smooth with no defects and absolutely zero stab rattle. I am stunned that this brand is not getting the recognition that it deserves. 100% worth the money. The software could use a little facelift but it ain't terrible. Also, the support is very fast at replying and fixing the issue. (Just had a question on how to turn off the auto sleep when idle for 1 minute). The only thing I have changed is I swapped out the default keycaps to the Razer Phantoms white version. The only "bad" thing I have to say is you can't customize the color of the logo at the bottom right but isn't deal-breaking could just be a software update as it is RGB and just needs compatibility with the software. Also the wireless connectivity is great no cut outs at all. Battery life is also great. Read more

Die GravaStar Gaming-Tastatur Mercury K1 habe ich als kostenfreies Sample für eine Bewertung im Rahmen des VINE Produkttestprogramms erhalten. Ich habe bisher nur ganz normale Tastaturen verwendet und keine Erfahrung mit Gaming-Tastaturen oder allgemein mit Tastaturen dieser Preisklasse. Diese Tastatur gefällt mir sehr gut, vor allem das Design. Die Beschriftung der Tasten befindet sich nicht auf der Oberseite, sondern auf der Vorderseite der Tasten. Wenn die Beleuchtung eingeschaltet ist, ist die Beschriftung sehr klar zu sehen, was mir optisch sehr gut gefällt. Die Tasten fühlen sich gut an, sind robust und stabil, und die Tastatur insgesamt ist etwas höher als herkömmliche Tastaturen. Ich verbinde sie über Bluetooth mit meinem Mac. Man muss jedoch beachten, dass die Tastatur kein deutsches Layout besitzt (u.a. „QWERTY“ und nicht „QWERTZ“). Da ich beruflich fast ausschließlich auf Englisch schreiben muss, stellt das Layout für mich kein Problem dar. Außerdem fehlt der Nummernblock auf der rechten Seite (was mich persönlich nicht stört). Ich benutze die Tastatur zum Arbeiten und nicht zum Spielen und könnte daher auch mit einer günstigeren Version auskommen. Die Tastatur ist mal etwas ganz Anderes, als die bisherigen Tastaturen, die hier in Verwendung sind oder waren. Alleine schon das Gewicht macht sie zu etwas Besonderem. Durch den Alu-Rahmen ist sie schwerer als herkömmliche Tastaturen und auch höher. Aber das Design finde ich super. Es ist eine 75%-Tastatur, das heißt, der Nummernblock fehlt komplett, was sie bei Office-Anwendungen etwas schwieriger zu nutzen macht. Dafür ist sie aber auch nicht konzipiert. Die Beschriftung der Tasten ist nicht auf der Oberseite, sondern auf der Vorderseite der Tasten. Das wird erst richtig sichtbar, wenn die Beleuchtung eingeschaltet ist. Die Tastatur ist über Kabel, USB und Bluetooth nutzbar. Hier kann also jeder seinen Favoriten finden. Einziges Manko hier ist die Bedienbarkeit der Software. Es wird kein größenveränderbares Fenster dargestellt, sodass man etwas umständlich in der Menüführung herumstochern muss. Wegen der etwas mühseligen Einstellerei sind auch noch nicht alle Modi der Beleuchtung und anderer Einstellungen hier ausprobiert worden. Ich habe schon öfter überlegt mir mal solch eine Gaming-Tastatur zum 3D-Shooter-Zocken anzuschaffen. Mit der hier vorliegenden Mercury K1 von GravaStar wurde ich dann auch absolut überwältigt. Da hat man ein Farb- und Design-Spektakel auf dem Schreibtisch stehen das ist der Hammer und sucht seines Gleichen. Aber nicht nur die Optik besticht hier. Das Gehäuse besteht aus hochwertiger Alu-Legierung und man merkt schon am Gewicht dass es sich hier um eine echt hochwertige Tastatur handelt. Ich weiss gar nicht wo man hier anfangen soll mit den Lobeshymnen: Diese Tastatur ist schon mal von Grund auf in einem optisch sehr schönen Grau-Schwarzen Farbverlauf lackiert. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig allerdings ist, dass die Beschriftung der Tastatur nicht oben an den Tasten aufgedruckt ist, sondern an der Kante zum Bediener hin. Wenn man aber davor sitzt, und die Beleuchtung aktiviert ist, hat man dennoch einen guten Überblick. Das tolle an den Tasten ist, dass man hier zwischen sage und schreibe 13 verschiedenen Beleuchtungs-Modi auswählen kann. Diese sind schnell mit bestimmten Tastenkombinationen direkt einzugeben und zu wechseln und es fällt schwer sich für eine zu entscheiden. Wenn des Nachts dieses Farbspektakel dann unter den Fingern durchläuft ist das schon ein echt beeindruckendes, geiles Gefühl. Im übrigen sollte ich erwähnen, dass in einer schwarzen, kleinen Schachtel, die in der großen Karton-Box der Tastatur enthalten ist, das USB-Ladekabel und ein sehr kleines Heftchen mit einer Kurzerklärung der Tastatur-Einstellungen bzw. Funktionen und Tastenkombinationen beigefügt ist. Ebenso im Lieferumfang mit dabei sind ein paar Ersatz-Tastaturkappen und eine Metall-Klammer um die Tastenkappen ab- und anmontieren zu können. An der Unterseite der Tastur ist der kleine Dongle versteckt, der für den USB-Betrieb benötigt und in den USB-Anschluss am PC eingesteckt wird. Ebenfalls unten kann man zwei Füßchen herausklappen um die Tastatur etwas schräger zu stellen. Mittig, an der hinteren Kante zum Bildschirm hin, sind der Ein/Ausschalter, der USB-Anschluss und ein Umschalter auf Bluetooth angebracht, die mir leider etwas klein ausgefallen sind. Ein erwähnenswertes Tool ist auch der Lautstärke-Kippschalter rechts oben auf der Tastatur. Hier kann man den Lautstärke-Prozentsatz im Windows ganz einfach und schnell verändern. Natürlich kann man auch viele Tasten selbst programmieren. Dazu wird aber soweit ich weiss eine kostenlose Software als Download angeboten. Es sprengt den Rahmen alles hier weiter beschreiben zu wollen. Ich empfehle deshalb Videos die es auf YouTube zu dieser Tastatur gibt, zu schauen, um sich noch mehr Infos und Eindrücke zu verschaffen. Ich habe mir dummerweise erst 3 Wochen vor dem Erwerb dieser Tastatur, die ich über das Amazon-Vine-Programm testen durfte, eine "Normale Cherry-Tastatur" bestellt. Sie steht seitdem im Regal auf "Reserve-Modus". Ehrlicher Weise muss ich aber auch sagen, dass für Vielschreiber eine normale Office-Tastatur, die die gewohnten Tasten hat, natürlich besser ist. Der Num-Block fehlt ja hier rechts immerhin komplett. Ebenso ist die Enter-Taste kleiner und noch ein paar weitere sind nicht an der üblichen Stelle bzw. fehlen hier. Aber es ist ja auch eine "Gaming-Tastatur", die nicht fürs Texte tippen gedacht ist. Der Fun-Faktor beim Zocken ist hier aber auf jeden Fall garantiert! Ich bin schlichtweg schwer beeindruckt und begeistert von diesem Teil!!! I love it! I am seriously impressed with this keyboard. I have used many a gaming keyboard and this is one of the more impressive ones that isn't a major label. The aluminum body is unique, but incredibly solid. The keycaps are gorgeous. More importantly, the typing experience is buttery smooth, and yes, even the spacebar. The features are hot swappable switches so if you don't want to use the included straight switches already installed, you can easily change them out with the included keycap puller, that I also want to take a moment to highlight because most major manufacturers use a simple plastic tool. That is not the case here, you get a proper tool in the box. As an aside, they also include a cleaning brush! The volume rocker is a simple switch to click up and down for volume adjustment and press to mute. The RGB illumination is bright and smooth and has a few preset modes and separately addressable for the edge lighting and keyboard. The key layout is fairly standard for a 75% TKL board, so if you have your own keycaps on hand, you shouldn't have a problem quickly making this your own right out of the box. There are two switches near the USB C port on the keyboard, one to switch between Mac and Windows (huge!) and the other to switch between connection methods: Bluetooth, Wireless (with included adapter mounted under the keyboard), or wired. So flexibility is here. Since this is a keyboard from an independent manufacturer there is going to be some things to be aware of, the software support is very barebones, but serviceable to further adjust the lighting, but that's about it. There is ***some*** flex when pressing the keys, but it's something that's mentioned in the product description through the mention of the plastic frame to help dampen the sound. Unlike some content creators on social media that make a huge deal out of it, as a lay person, I'm not spending my time staring hard at my keyboard to split hairs like this. In terms of price, this keyboard by GravaStar is very competitive for the overall build construction. It's well made and the materials that went into it, definitely make up for the lack of quality of life features that you find in Synapse, iCue, etc. If you want a quality and durable piece of equipment, this is it. GravaStar Mercury K1 75% Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Aluminum Alloy Exoskeleton Design, Gasket Compact Custom Keyboard Hot-Swap Socket, Linear Switches, with RGB Backlit & Frame This is an interesting keyboard with a unique frame that is part aluminum and part plastic. This makes the keyboard significantly lighter than an all-metal frame. The styling is interesting to say the least. The so-called exoskeleton design is not exactly what I would call an exoskeleton. It's more an alien / sci-fi theme. I like it but the design would likely be polarizing, love it or hate it type of situation. The included keycaps have side legends and they are shine through. The backlighting is very strong and complements the keycaps very nicely. Not only is the backlighting strong, but the 3-side edge lightning is some of the most extensive lighting I've yet to see in a keyboard. The brightness is matched well with the main backlighting. The performance of out of the box without any adjustments is surprisingly good. The stabs are tuned perfectly without any ticks. They use plate mounted stabs but they are as good as any PCB mounted stabs I've installed and tuned. The gasket mounting allows for impressive flex, much more than the typical gasket mount prebuilt. The switches used are buttery smooth and have a nice deep thock. They are quite loud and it's the sound profile that I enjoy for my keyboard builds. Either that or completely silent switches. The dial is quite interesting, it's really a rocker switch for controlling volume and it works very good. The nature of the switch means super fast volume adjustments, probably as fast or faster than a traditional dial, and it works perfectly well. It feels crisp and responsive, with a push to mute feature. The price of this keyboard is up there, and when on sale does represent a good value, but for full retail price, I would likely be very hesitant to buy, considering the options out there. Especially given that it is a hybrid aluminum / plastic frame, the price is not very competitive. Overall it is built exceedingly well and just works beautifully well out of the box without needing any adjustments at all. For that reason, this is an easy one to recommend. Read more

This has got to be one of the most interestingly designed keyboards I have ever tried. From the cast aluminums organic design, the super quiet keys, or the little RGB alien logo, there is a lot to like about this keyboard. The keyboard came with a keycap/switch pulling tool, a cleaning cloth, a small keyboard brush, a USB-A to C cable, a dust cover, an instruction manual, and an assortment of random keyboard switches. I am guessing that the random switches are others that are offered by the manufacturer that also work in this keyboard. My keyboard has the linear yellow switches that are very quiet except for the "chok" sound the keys makes hitting the bottom stroke and full release. There is definitely none of the Brown or Blue mid-clicking sounds. Very quiet and smooth mid operation keys. The upper deck is made of a solid aluminum casting with an organic webbing design. The design totally says 'alien' or 'spider' to me. And to go along with that theme, there is an RGB screen on the far right side of the keyboard with a lit up spider alien looking design. The bottom plate is made of plastic with an industrial or cyberpunk style design to it. The bottom plate has adjustable feet with three possible sitting angles. The keyboard can be connect either by Bluetooth, 2.4 wireless, or direct cable. All three methods worked just fine for me but I still prefer the direct USB method. Input is good and accurate without any issues. The keycaps are side marked and they are RGB shine-through caps. There are about a dozen RGB light options to pick from and the brightness plus speed can also be changed. There is a lot to like here especially if setting up an alien themed PC build. I really like the heavy weight of the aluminum build and all of the attention to detail with this keyboard. The keys are so smooth and very easy to type with. Although I generally prefer a full sized keyboard with a number pad this has quickly become one of my top two keyboards so far. 5 stars. Read more

The Gravastar Mercury K1 feels nice to type on and is even better to look at. Pros: -Comes fully assembled in a metal case that is different than most other brands to make it stand out. -Switches are smooth and provide a comfortable typing experience. -Keycaps are nice and don't feel rough or subpar; I like the grey/black gradient. -PCB allows for swapping switches. -Fully adjustable RGB backlighting. -Good weight due to metal case. -Included in the box were keycap puller, spare switches (different types), and USB cable. Cons: -Right side of the board has Delete, Page Up, Page Down. Wish it would've also included Home and End. -No right Control key. -Volume rocker is the only thing on the board that feels low quality. I also prefer volume knobs. -Side lighting is not adjustable; has a layered diffuser so it has layer lines. -Some flex on the PCB if typing hard, but usually not noticeable. This happens on boards that use plastic layers instead of metal between the switches and PCB. -Sound while typing is a bit more sharp or harsh than other boards I have, but still sounds nice. This keyboard sounds and feels great to game or type on. The aesthetics, material, and design come together really well and creates a unique style for a computer desk. The metal toggle switch and LED screen add even more to the look and feel of this keyboard. The back light has a plenty bright and the north facing keys are not difficult to distinguish. Maybe it’s the great tactile response of the keystrokes or the sweet serenade of rapid clicking, but it seems like I type more accurate and faster with this keyboard. I spent a couple of days using this keyboard for my desk job where I type a lot each day. The keyboard has a great tactile feel and has the satisfying loud clicky sound you know and love. It keeps up with 80+ Word Per Minute typing without dropping a keystroke. The keyboard is surprisingly heavy. I attribute the weight to a very durable build quality and the internal rechargeable battery. The default lighting effects are interesting but not distracting. This keyboard is out of this world! It has a variety of backlight features, as well as an ambient lighting at the bottom. The main frame is made of aluminum alloy and is very sturdy. It's easy to connect to your computer via bluetooth, the included adapter, and via a type c cable. The battery life is awesome and it's a very nice gaming keyboard. There is a lot I like about this keyboard and a couple things that could be improved. First off, the the æsthetics are quite striking. When powered down (or the back lighting is disabled), unless one looks very closely, all one sees are blank keycaps with the rows forming a gray gradient; it’s only when illuminated that the frontside markings stand out. It, of course, features the usual array of RGB lighting effects, and defaults defaults to a pulsing white (which goes well with the monochrome styling). Curiously, the white backlighting the keys is a slightly different color (a tad pinkish) that the white of the surround (colder, bluer). The solid yellow is a bit greenish for my tastes, but the other standard colors are fine. It’s not a quiet keyboard. The sound is more of a sharp clack than a dampened thock. I tried swapping in some quieter linear switches to see how they affected the sound quality. They were able to shift the sound toward a thock and reduce the volume, but because of how the case is constructed, the sound was still sharper than I prefer. Speaking of switches… the 5-pin sockets are mounted upside-down, so that the LED can better illuminate the from-facing key markings. The installed switches have an integrated, clear plastic light guide, which made for brighter key-marking illumination than a switch with just a cutout. The installed switches do have a nice feel and the keycaps have a very slight texture. Also included were four sample switches to try (a fun little bonus) and a combo keycap+switch puller. It is taller/sits higher than my other keyboards. I find the native angle of inclination comfortable, but it includes two sets of feet should you wish more (or a lot more) tilt. I didn’t test the wireless capabilities because I’m never going to use them. Why not 5 stars? The deck flexes under pressure—something that none of my other gaming keyboard do. To be clear, if one types with a light touch, it’s not noticeable. But… still, for the asking price ($130 at the time of this review), I’d not expect a they deck to flex like a laptop keyboard. Having owned a GravaStar mouse, I already had high expectations for the quality, and the Mercury K1 75% Wireless Mechanical Keyboard absolutely meets them.
