Out of the box, they’re probably the best headphones I ever had. And I had cheap to expensive ones. The sound quality is amazing and I can hear everything. Also the app helps out as well. But my problem that I’m having, is the comfort level of the whole unit. They fit well, but the comfort level for me. Not all good. But they’re also new and might improve after a while. I've been on the hunt for the best headphones to work for the XBOX since last year. I had ordered the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless (white edition) and they did not work at all on the XBOX (unless you directly connect it via 3.5mm head jack to the controller itself). I updated the drivers from my computer, downloaded the software, called Amazon customer service, called Razer customer service, told me it absolutely works on the XBOX but it does not. They told me to order another one and overall wasted over 5 hours of my time. So I returned it. My first and last time ever getting anything from Razer ever again, it was a stupid waste of my time, arguing, and the guy was very rude in customer service. I saw the Logitech G Pro X2 Wireless but those also do not work on XBOX wirelessly, only when connected directly via 3.5mm. These headphones came in the same day (I ordered from 10am and delivered at 8:55pm), plugged the wireless adaptor to my USB hub I got for my XBOX, and boom they immediately work. They seem like good quality, soft, and comfortable. It was this easy the entire time to just get the SteelSeries Arctic Nova 5x and I wasted weeks of time, money, and energy from the Razer guys. I'll update the review if anything happens to the headset within 6 months such as defects or anything of that sort. The headset worked perfectly fine for about a week. After that, it was one problem after another. 1. One day between COD sessions, it just stopped. It was working fine one minute. I set it down and came back an hour later to no audio coming from the headset. Solution: It needed a firmware update. Weird that it would completely stop functioning just because it needs an update, but whatever. 2. No MacBook supported interface. You have to use a windows computer for mandatory updates and adjusting equalizer settings. 3. The update fixed the in game audio issue, but after turning Sonar on during the update, I could no longer hear my friends or other players. In game audio was functioning, but communication between friends in party chat or teammates in lobby didn't. Solution: Turn off the Sonar software (one of the big selling points from the brand). 4. Turning off Sonar allowed me to hear my friends, but now I could hear an ungodly echo of myself in party chat. I turned sidetone volume all the way down, but I could still hear the ending of my sentences being echoed back to me. Each of these issues I tried countless things to fix it. I also submitted a ticket to Steelseries customer support: they are horrible. They take forever to respond and when they do, it's not helpful in the slightest. I really wanted to keep this headset. It took me a while to accept that I need to return it because it is legit the most comfortable and immersive headset I've ever used. But after only having a week with it problem free, I had to cut my losses. If you search the subreddit r/steelseries, you'll find plenty of people complaining about the company and product issues as well. Edit: original 2 stars. Now 4. In spite of the issues I kept them because my cat chewed through my wired ones. i have used the sony inzones (the $300 ones) for a couple years now, and over those 2 years i have had to replace the entire headset twice. so i finally decided to look for another brand that was cheaper. i did a bunch of research and came across the SteelSeries. why i liked the inzones so much is because they were noise cancelling, and they worked really well for that. unfortunately the SteelSeries aren't noise cancelling, but i decided to take the hit. the battery life on this headset is 60 hours, which is NUTS. i always forget to charge my headsets, so this worked out perfectly. even though its not noise cancelling, the spatial audio is really great. i've also had nothing but compliments from my friends about the mic quality. they told me it sounds like im using a profession mic. another issue i had with the inzones is that they were huge, they didnt really fit my head (im a girl), and kept falling off. the SteelSeries is much smaller and fits me perfectly. the price is unbeatable for a wireless headset with amazing sound and mic quality. i have already recommended this headset to a ton of people. 10/10! side note - im using them on the PS5.
