I am an avid Camper and a Health Nut. For my daily smoothie, I use a Vitamix 6300 which reduces anything in the container to a smooth mass. For camping, I had one of those hand-held blenders which do work but tend to clog up quickly and create more of a lumpy than a smoothie. Also, there is always the danger of getting splashed which isn't fun when you're dealing with beets. So I figured I'd give this a try to bring my camping smoothies up to the next level. Note that I pre-blend most of the ingredients in my Vitamix and then freeze the result into concentrated cubes for camping, add banana and frozen pineapple and some Chia, let it sit outside the freezer over night and blend it in the morning. Anyway, I haven't gone camping with the Blast yet, but I think it will work out just fine. I tested how many smoothies I get out of one battery charge and got 11 after the first charge. So blending twice per smoothie will make it last 5 days which is fine for me. The resulting smoothie is right in between the Vitamix and the Blender stick, better than expected for greens like Celery and Kale and even solid things like Beet. Don't pack it too tightly because it will report being stuck if the blade can't spin up freely. Once it turns it makes quick work of the ingredients. There are a few small "room for improvements" and one bigger one. The cap for example is designed well for its function, but not for cleaning. Lots of crooks and nannies in there that need lots of work if you happen to not rinse it right away. Another small thing that could be improved is the charge display. According to the manual, it is green when charged and red when it needs a charge. However, mine turns red right after disconnecting the charger. It blends a while before it stops, but I would like to see a 0/25/50/75/100% indicator, or a digital percentage. Just a red light doesn't do a fairly pricey blender justice. The big thing for me is the dedicated 110V charger. This makes it more challenging to charge on the road. Of course, charging may not be necessary if the batteries hold strong, but I think it would be good to be able to charge this via regular USB-C or at least a 12V. Also good luck if you loose the charger. We'll see how it holds up long term and if there will be replacement parts (like the container/blade assembly) if that should be needed. Read more

I absolutely love that blender. Small and compact yet powerful enough to crash ice and make perfect smoothies in no time. I charge it every 3-4 smoothies even before it indicates low battery. Never had problems with power. Love 3 different settings. Easy to use and store. The noise level is less than our regular full size blender. The color is very pretty. Its very easy to use and I could just remove the vessel from the motor base and take it to go. It blends very well ,my frozen fruits or fresh unfrozen ones hahaha. Battery lasts me for about 3-4 blends . I could make my smoothies or my matcha frappe very easily. It doesn't leak . I'm enjoying this blender haven't had a problem. Returned this item. Maybe it was me but first I will say that I am a huge Ninja fan. I have many of their products and would not trade them for anything. So I was excited to order this personal blender. Tried 3 different attempts. I made smoothie with drinkable yogurt, smoothie from frozen fruit, and tried to make snow ice for a grandson. All 3 failed. The contents just set in the bottom of blender and never got "blended". Even stirring to move ingredients to the bottom - still no blending. And the snow ice - it crushed the ice but again only the. bottom pieces. I ended up with shaved ice clumped in the bottom of the blender Not a fan of this product. I returned it quickly. Read more

My wife and I bought this so that we could make our own smoothies while traveling. We have another cordless blender made by Cuisinart that is okay but it's fairly loud and is barely powerful enough to make a smoothie if the fruit is frozen. Have had mixed smoothies, protien shakes, milkshakes. All with shaved/crushed ice. Would not recommend large ice cubes or even medium size. Tends to have an issue with anything larger tham small cubes. My go-to shake is so simple: 6oz fat free milk, half scoop vanilla protien powder, orange fat free sherbet to just below the "max" line, topped off with crushed ice to just above the max line, and select "crush". Fantastic orange creamsicle smoothie! Cleanup is a breeze. 8oz warm water with a drop or two of dish detergent, select 'blend', rinse out with warm water. Take to work, or bike trip, anywhere around house, good to go. Only 2 pitfalls: charge does not last as long as I would like. I get 2 shakes and it needs charged, will not make it to a 3rd round. And while it has great power for its size, cannot handle medium to larger ice cubes, or a dense/thick shake and will lock up or overheat. Overheating is the worst, and will not operate for 30 to 60 minutes. Beyond that, experiment with its limits in mind, and it has been a great portable blender for home or on the go! Read more

Bought as a gift for a very fickle husband who was drinking protein shakes as part of his marathon training. He'd been using the metal spirals in a shaker cup and drinking lumpy, powdery shakes, not enjoyable. We have a Ninja Twisti, but he felt using that and the clean up was too much effort in the morning. He also hates accumulating gadgets, so this felt a risky purchase. Thankfully after a week of use, he was thrilled with it, his drinks taste great though he is still finding the powder gets stuck to the sides and ingredients have to be added in a specific order to reduce that. He started drinking twice as many protein shakes, and, in between, having iced drinks in it. He was quite frustrated that it doesn't charge itself (!), but he gets a around a week's worth of daily drinks between charges (and now remembers to charge it!). It's easy to clean and compact. I did think he would take it to work to have his drinks there, but he says it's too noisy to use in the office and it doesn't have anywhere to store powder like the plastic cups do. Now his training has stopped, he's not using it so much, but I think it's only a matter of time before our teenager purloins it for their milkshakes and cocoas... If you end up getting a Portable Blender definitely get the Ninja Max portable blender, any other size is definitely too small. I feel it’s just the right size for personal use but if making smoothies for more than one person than just buy a regular ninja. Definitely a little expensive for the size. I like everything about this blender. Powerful, not excessively loud compared to some, easy to operate. Blends very well. Programmed modes useful. Easy cleanup. Like the integrated bottom over the smaller Ninja which requires a screw on cover to be added after blend. This larger unit is super convenient especially on the go. Larger capacity is a good thing too. Only improvement I would like to see is USB C charging vs the dedicated “wall wart” power supply it comes with to charge. I understand they probably made the charge power supply choice due to voltage of the battery pack in this more powerful unit. Still, I think the technology exists to make it USB C chargeable.
