Firstly, this case is not as huge as it appears in the seller photos, and not so rigidly squared-off…and I’m glad! This is a “normal” sized soft side case that only expands as you fill it up. It is well made, has more compartments than you’ll probably use, and can be carried multiple ways. That said, why would you need a cue case that holds 4 butts and 5 shafts? Lemme do the math for you: If you’ve already decided to pursue billiards as a sport, or as a primary component of your recreational life, then even as a beginner you should have a break cue (w/1 shaft), and a shooting cue (w/2 shafts). As you progress, it won’t be long that you will need a jump/masse cue to bail you out of trouble spots. At this point, your case now contains 3 butts, and 4 shafts. Lastly, if you’re in a relationship of any kind that compels you to share your love of the game, you will need a loaner cue to preserve that relationship so your companion does not damage your expensive/custom shooting cue. The case is padded enough to protect your cues for brief stays of an hour or less in your car, but as a rule, never leave your sticks in the car. The two external end pockets are excessive – as they would not work well to hold balls – but could hold a scrunched up jacket or beanie cap. I ordered this to hold my sticks and training knives for my self defense class. I like that it holds 8 sticks easily, and the outside pockets are perfect for storing my training knives, gloves, etc.. The picture of the guy carrying the bag is totally ridiculous, as the bag is not even 3' long, so that guy must be very short! Although my intended use is not for pool cues, I can say that it seems to be made of decent, canvas-like fabric, and should hold up for a good number of years. The price point is great as well. I currently have a fairly ‘nice’ hard carrying case for my pool cues. I have decided to switch it out with this more budget case. Here's why… There is so much storage. I have room for another cue and so much more that I am going to have to buy more just to fill the empty space. I'm not going to list it all but you can store everything you are going to need and then some. There is even molle strap attachments on the front large packet to add more storage. My current case has a shoulder strap and handle. At first I thought this just had a handle to carry from and thought “this is really lacking a shoulder strap”. Then I found there is another storage pouch in the back that has two straps attached to the inside. Just pull the two ends out and clip them to the corresponding loop and now its a backpack. Far better than I wanted. The only drawback to the switch, this is true for all soft carry cases, is that there's less impact protection. Just the way it is. The felt and cushioning in this is good enough. I'm not all that worried about it since it is a good trade off. Its a budget case but if you’re just not that into spending the price for a nice cue and or even an entry level cue for just your case then this is good enough. Frankly, I don't see a need for an upgrade. If you’re looking for something budget friendly but does the job then this is perfectly fine. For the price you can't beat it.
