Let me start from that I focus on bouldering exclusively. This new version of the Solutions is way batter than the old one in many respects. First of all, it provides the same toe and arch support performance. On top of that, hell-hooks work better, since the heel sensitivity is improved and it just fits nicer - I can feel the hold just like I do with the toe. Another plus is that the breaking period is tiny. I normally wear US 9. The old Solutions were 8.5 and hurt my about a month. With these new ones it was easy. I felt like I can go down for a better performance, because old Solutions got a bit loose with time. So, first I went for 7.5 and immediately felt pain to the point it became clear that's not my size (at least for my right foot which is tiny bigger). For years, I climbed in the Miura VS, and they were great as far as what I could do in them. However, they KILLED my feet. Idk if my toes have gotten more sensitive with age, but it got to be unbearable. Even with those shoes very broken in, they hurt much more than when I first got them. I was going to go a half size up and see if that helped, but instead, I decided to try these. I’m glad I did. They’re much more comfortable, and toe hooks feel more locked in than ever. I also feel like I can trust my feet more on little chips. I’ve had these for over 6 months, and I climb 2-3 days a week, and they’ve held up really well. Read more

Great shoe, super helpful my one complaint(this is user error on my part) is that they stretch a lot faster than I was expecting(I went down a half size(US) and wish i would’ve gone down a full size or a size and a half) if you are considering these shoes I would suggest going at least a full size down(US). Loved my Solutions, but the stiffness was always my Achilles heal (pun intended). The Solution Comps are more flexible while providing a more sensitive heel and a more comfortable fit for lighter weight men, without losing the asymmetry and down-turn I loved in the Solution. If La Sportiva is reading, I only wish the closure strap was either shorter or adjustable. But I will just double up the strap and sew it like I did my Solutions. For others, I wear a 10.5-11 street shoe and think a 10 is perfect in this shoe - but I have a wide forefoot (and narrow heel). So happy, after trying 5 other shoes through Amazon before going with my gut. Worth a couple extra bucks - the soles will only wear out if you USE them: a good thing. But the toe upper did not have the grip ridges shown in the pictures. Waiting on the seller to explain… sent a question but haven’t heard back.
