I don't mean to brag, but I have steamed a lot of clothing. Since I worked in retail for many years and have the burns to prove it, I feel I am an expert on this subject, however, I am used to using professional units and have never used something so puny as this devise. First, for something so small and travel friendly, it is actually a little heavy. I love that it isn't junky feeling, but if you need to pack ultra light, this one might not be for you. I have no idea how its weight compares to the Conair because I haven't held that one in person. This one differs from the Conair in that it also doubles as a small iron, so take that into account as well. If you need the press of an iron, a steamer alone will not be an appropriate substitute. So in this regard, the extra weight is justified. It's pretty simple to use- you fill the chamber, hit the button and it starts steaming almost immediately. When I twisted the handle around to use it upright, I had PTSD and was convinced it was going to leak scalding water all over my hand. It did not leak, though- not at all. I was very impressed with this as the commercial ones are always leaking. Another way you can get burned by a steamer is by steaming underneath a hanging garment. Sometimes you need to do this to steam really stubborn wrinkles out, and almost inevitably steam gets trapped AND it leaked and you get a nasty burn. I know to keep the steamer moving, but still-I used to frequently get burned. Not this time, or any time I've used this little thing. Overall, I am impressed that an off-brand little steamer works so well. The chamber is small, so it runs out very quickly, but that is to be expected. Because it generates steam so quickly, refilling isn't such a big deal. The commercial ones have larger tanks and last longer (obviously), but they take forever to start making steam. The almost instant steam this produces will be handy if you wake up late or don't realize until the last minute that you have wrinkles. So far this is a solid 3 stars. It makes kind of weird noises, but all steamers do. I just hope the noises in this one aren't harbingers of electrical failure. They aren't the normal gurgling sounds, so hopefully all is well.
