These lights work well, and have an array of options and scene choices - basically, you can have any colour or choice of colours, static or changing, changing with sound or in a fixed pattern - there's a lot of choice and flexibility with them. The lights feel a bit light and plasticky, but I'm not as concerned about this, as it's not really noticeable once installed, especially if sited behind a TV or monitor. They connected easily to the Tuya app I already have installed for other smart devices. My main gripe is the length of the leads. They each have a 1m lead which both connect to a 0.5m lead with a USB plug on the end. This means that you need a USB socket located within just 50cm of the centre of the device you're placing them with. Probably not an issue if you want to locate them either side of a PC monitor, as you're likely to have a suitable power source, but if you want to put them either side of a TV, you need that power source in the centre, in front or behind the TV. Equally, if you wanted to use them as sleep/wake lights either side of a bad, the USB plug would have to be connected under the centre of the bed. Given that one of the lights is a slave, it would've been much more useful to have had them connected in a line (slave connected to the primary light, which could then have a line to the USB), which would've allowed for a power source to the side of wherever they're sited. The short length of the leads also means that the lights can't be sited more than 2m apart, which might restrict your choice about how/where to use them. The lead length/design issue means that I'm currently still unable to use them where I planned, and will have to wait until I can purchase a USB extension in order to install them. However, if you can work around the lead issue, they work and do a lot. Not very expensive at £22.99, and I'm sure would work well in a kid's/teen's bedroom. Read more

I recently ordered the RGB Light Bar with multiple lighting modes and 16 million colors, controlled via an app or buttons at the back. This product was sent to me for review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it. In terms of quality, the bars themselves are quite lightweight, but still have a robust feel. They each come with a base, which they slot into securely. Though the included cable is quite long, as it's joined together between the two bars, it can get quite tangled. The USB compatibility is very handy, though, as it can be connected to any suitable power supply (I tested it with a USB socket on an extension lead). As for the performance, the light colours are varied and vibrant, with a number of effects available to choose from. This is also easy to do, either with the companion app, or using the buttons on the back of one of the bars. Having tested the lights' sensitivity to music, it appears that the music has to be fairly loud for them to react properly - they barely changed at even a mid-level volume.
