This coffee scale is well-built, reasonably sized, and conveniently charges via USB-C. I used it with my hand drip coffee maker, which requires precise measurements. Basic silver design is nice looking, but also fits well with a lot of kitchen wares due to being quite neutral. The digital display is easy to read as long as you are looking at it from an appropriate angle. The numbers can distort a bit if you look at it from too sharp of an angle, which isn't a big issue since that wouldn't really be the intended use. The functions are easy enough to utilize, you can tare and swap measurement units which is really all I need personally. It does use batteries (optionally) but thankfully you can also just charge it via usb which is the only way I will be using it. It is a larger scale than may similarly priced scales specified for "coffee" use for example which does make it more useable for other kitchen duties as a food scale. Would have liked if it had the capability to measure in smaller more precise increments. This is a nice little special purpose scale. It's sized a bit smaller, so it fits under the spouts of your espresso machine. The design weighs with a top platform, so it will work on a drainage plate. (scales that weigh with their feet are only for flat surfaces) There's a nice little rubber pad to protect the top, and keep the heat off the scale, don't miss that in the box. There are auto timing modes for catching volume and timing for espresso pulls. It's reasonably accurate out of the box. More accurate than most (mine was 0.03% 500g=501.5g) What makes this scale SHINE over all the rest, is that it has CALIBRATION mode!! It's not in the instructions, trial and error, I came up with this: * You must have a calibration weight set. Warm it up, weight random things for a minute, then power it off Hold down T when powering on until it says CAL it will tell you a series of weights, 60 to 300 put the displayed weight on the scale, wait 2 seconds, press T I think there's 5 weights, do each one when it gets back to zero, 2 seconds, press power again You have to be so fast. Like a video game, if you fail one weight, you start over, LOL After calibration, all my calibration weights measure 100% perfect, of course 😊 None of my other coffee scales can be calibrated.
