I am by no means a professional tattoo artist, but am very interested in doing small tattoos on myself. The kit looks like it has everything I'd need as a beginner: the tattoo pen, an extra battery, a stencil template, a pair of gloves, a practice skin, grip cover, 7 different ink colors, 20 ink cartridges, and 20 ink cups. The one thing this kit doesn't come with is instructions- arguably the most important thing considering it's advertised for beginners. With a few YouTube videos, and some practice on the included skin, I was able to get the hang of it. The kit overall is truly impressive for what you get for the price (less instructions). The ink is heavily pigmented and the machine works nice. I've held professional ones at my friend's tattoo shop and although this one is a bit fatter, it's balanced extremely well and becomes easy to hold the more you use it. After lots of practice, I'm already able to get nice clean lines. In due time, I'll ink myself and willing friends. 🙂 Read more

This Arenahawk tattoo kit, has far exceeded my expectations! Upon opening, I was immediately impressed w/the kits professional presentation & the high quality items it contains. You’ll receive EVERYTHING (minus a 5V-1A block to charge the batteries) you would need to get started. *NOTE* I deducted 1-star due to the vague instructions w/minimal info (see pic) operating the gun. This is especially important for beginners who are new to tattooing & using a gun for the 1st time. I highly suggest doing some research & watching videos to get better acquainted. I’m in the beginner phase w/tattooing & this is my 2nd tattoo gun. It’s easy to set up, use, & didn’t take long to get a full charge (80-90 min). I LOVE having x2 re-chargeable batteries bcuz it allows me to focus & take my time w/learning different techniques. Each battery has a run time of 4.5-5 hours (almost double compared to my other gun) making it convenient & more ideal for professional artists. Although, the gun is more robust compared to my other one (see pic), it’s still lightweight & fits my hand comfortably. Operation is smooth & quiet, even at its highest (12V) w/little vibration (something I was worried about). It’s easy to transition between the strokes, volts, & needle depths. The kit comes w/20 needle cart’s; x10-1205RL (#12 round liner) & x10-1205RS (#12 round shader). LEARN to know the difference w/needles & their specific use bcuz it’s key to achieving your desired outcome. The cart’s arrive individually sealed, packaged, & labeled (w/EXP date) to ensure sterilization. I’m STOKED the kit came with 7-colors bcuz I’m a monochromatic type of gal. This will allow me to experiment w/color blending & color packing a tattoo. This is an AWESOME tattoo kit at an exceptional value!
