I'll start with what you don't get with this pre-workout supplement, which is a pump enhancer and a muscle sparer. I add some citrulline malate and BCAAs and I'm good to go. What I like about this is that it has 150 mg. of caffeine (no caffeine anhydrous), which is a perfect amount for me, plus excellent amounts of key electrolytes, without overdoing it. You get 25 mg. of magnesium (which I take at night as well) plus 160 mg. of sodium (again, a good amount, where some supplements give you double that). You then get the main ingredient, 5 grams of creatine from three different sources. I really like this because, for whatever reason, I often forget to take the creatine. I think because you can basically take it whenever, so long as you take it, but in any case, this supplement ensures I get my creatine in pre-workout (which I do think is better than any other time). Finally, I like a good, new flavor as much as the next person, and this snow cone, though artificially flavored, is really fun and delicious. You get 30 servings in a jar for a good price. I'm using this pre-workout only, which is three or four days a week, so a good value for me. It shakes up really easily in a shaker cup. I need to use electrolytes a lot when working out and tend to also use caffeine when weight training, so this was nice to be able to accomplish both at the same time. I don't tend to care about creatine one way or another, but it doesn't bother me either way to have it included. The snow cone flavor is good, and a nice change from typical fruit punch or citrus. I really like this stuff. First of all, creatine is almost a necessity when it comes to any serious lifting or athletic plan. Additionally, since most people take it prior to workout, giving it a little kick with some added Green Coffee Bean, Guarana Seed, Tea Leaf, and Yerba Mate for a little energy before you get your workout going is a great little bonus. This is especially the case when you work out early in the morning. On top of the added energy, there is also a nice mix of electrolytes, which always come in handy during intense workouts. Furthermore, the Snow Cone flavor tastes delicious and the powder mixes well with water and the fact you get 30 servings of a trio of supplements for (at the time of writing this) about twenty bucks, is a pretty solid price as well. I know tastes is subjective, but to me this tastes awesome. Just like a bomb-pop from the ice cream truck. But this is a lot more than just good taste. You get 5g of creatine, an electrolyte blend, and an energy blend. Let me tell you, that energy blend works. I think you could take this as a pre-workout as well. This product is very versatile. I've used it now as a pre and post-workout supplement. The taste and smell are awesome, as all Rule 1 products seem to be, it dissolves quickly in water, and it gives me the energy I'm looking for in a supplement before my workouts and after. Overall, I get a good amount of sustained energy, the electrolytes hydrate me well, and the creatine provides proven benefits I look for (namely joint health)...for a good quality powder. I rarely follow a single brand when It comes to supplements, but the flavors on these are pretty wonderful and I would like to try more. I've been using Rule 1 Charged Creatine for a few weeks now, and it's been a mixed experience. On the positive side, the energy boost is noticeable.
