These have worked great, they can be heated or wrapped and kept in the fridge or freezer for use. They are not too heavy, the slight amount of weight adds. Just enough pressure when you have a headache. They block out the light, which is very helpful during a migraine. This product comes in a set of 2 eye masks, one that is small and heats via USB cord connection and one that is large with flaxseeds inside it to heat via the microwave. Now having used both of them, I much prefer the larger, ‘manual’ flaxseed mask. It’s more comfortable to wear being that it’s significantly larger than its counterpart, and the flaxseeds are so much more malleable to mold to your eyes/face shape for better and more complete contact in the recesses of your face surrounding your eyes. While the smaller mask is novel with its USB cord connection heating method, like an electric blanket, the mask is too narrow; and the inner heating pad focuses the heat intensity mainly in the center of the eye areas, so the heat doesn’t really radiate outward from that point for there to be full heat coverage throughout the entire width of the mask to its outer edges. The smaller mask operates via a remote control with a heat intensity setting (low/medium/high), and a timer setting (20/40/60 minutes). Testing it out, I found low to be most tolerable – the above described heat concentration in the center of the eye areas being a major reason why – medium was only tolerable for a short stint of time, while high was out of the question for me; I don’t know how/when/why anyone would need or want that amount of heat directly applied to the eyes, doesn’t seem safe or therapeutic. Also, the cord isn’t very long if considering how one would use this mask, most likely while laying down – I had to use one of my portable batteries to plug the USB into for power in order to lay comfortably on my bed with it…that may be a special consideration for some or using an extension cord on the floor to give the eye mask cord enough length. The velvety material of both masks is nice and feels comfortable on the skin; the smaller mask has a band to keep it situated over the eyes, however it doesn’t make this one any more pliable and thus, as mentioned above, it simply doesn’t conform to the eyes/face adequately enough for me. Also of note, the set included a simple satin cover for the small mask, but no pouch or anything to cover or store the larger mask. And the small masks' cover is just satin material that wraps around the mask with a single snap closure in the center, but it's open at both ends where the mask could slide right out. Overall, I’ll continue using the large, flaxseed mask for sure…wearing it was enjoyable with enough heat to be soothing, not uncomfortable, or unbearable, and provide some relief and reduce puffiness, etc. with the heat lasting a suitable amount of time to accomplish that (around 15 minutes for me). The small USB mask I don’t see myself (no pun intended) using much, if at all, for the noted reasons. That said, the price point is therefore pretty high for only one (basic) usable mask, in my case. I use self heating disposable eye masks after a long tiring day in front of the computer. When saw this set, I thought a reusable option might be better. The masks are pretty good quality and feel. However, I find them inconvenient to use. For the one that is used connected to the power, you cannot fall asleep with it which is what I like to do with these masks. The other one that is microwave heated need to be heated downstairs once you are ready for bed. I am just too lazy to do that when i am ready to go to sleep. For me, disposable masks are way to go. Just take out of the package, it heats up itself, fall asleep with it. Easy! As a result this is not my type of product although it works as intended and made of quality materials. Read more

I like to use eye masks like this one, Aroma Season Electric Heated Eye Mask & Microwavable Heat Eye Compress with Flaxseed for Dry Eyes, Heated Eye Mask Relieve Eyestrain (2 Packs) Blue, when I am having headache, eyestrain, allergies, or when I just need to take a few minutes to relax. So when I saw this kit with the flexibility to either use the microwave or plug it in, for heat or cold therapy, I wanted to give it a try. All features work great, and I'm so glad I gave it a try. It's like 3 masks in 1 kit, so I tested each feature individually. By the way, the printed instructions for the kit are easy to use. Mask with microwaveable feature: Although it is smaller than my other one, it is large enough to be effective, good for travel. I heated it in a 1550 W microwave oven for 40 seconds, and it came out nice and toasty. I used it on both sides, beige and navy, and both worked, but I liked the beige side a little better. I tested without using the sanitary cover (oops), but it worked just fine. It was so relaxing, and it stayed warm for 18 minutes. Same mask with freezer feature: It stayed nice and cool for 20 minutes, and a little cool for a while longer. It was like a cool washcloth without the water mess. The instructions suggest to freeze it for at least 4 hours before use. Plug in mask: It comes with a 6' long cord, but you need an AC adapter to plug into USB. It is not included. This product has 3 heat settings and 3 timer settings (20/40/60 minutes with auto shutoff). I tested all the heat settings and there was a slight difference from high to medium to low. I also tested the auto shutoff on the 20 minute setting and it worked correctly. The strap is adjustable enough to fit most heads, I think. I used it with the beige side against my eyes and with the provided cover to keep the device clean. It felt very nice and relaxing. It has a slight odor, maybe it is the flaxseed, but it is not as strong as the microwaveable one. I don't find it objectionable in either case. I'm not sure which mask I like better. The adjustable nature of the plug-in one is nice, but you have the cord to deal with. The dual feature, warm and cold, is nice with the microwaveable mask, and you are not tied to an electrical outlet to use it, but it doesn't stay as warm for as long if you need that feature.
