This is now my favorite smart guitar (and midi guitar controller) and includes an excellent App as well. - This newer version and updated app works perfectly (beats all the others that I tried). - Great for buskin (with a Mic input) and great for small gigs too (you can still add effects pedals to the output) - The built-in Mic input with Vol control is perfect addition (as it mixes to output to an Amp or FOH system) - No more need for tuning and love the Capo button, and battery life is excellent (10+ hrs) I tried several others (Lava, and others) but this one is the best I've tried! I used to play guitar. A lot of guitar. Even though we have a house full of recorders, dulcimers, autoharps, flutes... Still, when I wanted to relax, I always grabbed one of the guitars. As I got older, it got harder and harder to play Rheumatism was taking my hands away, and I no longer had the strength to push down on the strings. Then one day I put the guitars away for good. I was reconciled to never being able to play again, until I saw a video for the Aero band guitar on YouTube. I watched more, and weighed the pros and cons. About three days ago I took the plunge and ordered the guitar. I have been playing for an hour to two hours a day ever since it got here, and there is no pain in my wrists or fingers! It took a couple of hours to stop trying to press down on the strings (old habits die hard), but it is getting better. I was going to wait a couple of weeks before writing this, but I decided not to wait. This was the best decision I have made in a long time. Review stuff. The build is good and solid, and nothing about the guitar feels cheap, or flimsy. It looks good as well. I have read reviews trashing the sound quality, but I am not hearing it. Perhaps some reviewers are comparing the sound quality to a high-priced DAW, but I'm not doing that. I am happy with the sound. The only issue I have come up against is getting my DAW to recognize the guitar, but that's just a matter of going through the process of installing it manually. Very impressed! Shipping packaged well and arrived quickly. The guitar is easier to play than a regular guitar due to the silicone strings in fret area. Online tutorial is ok, not great but not bad either. App works well, and setup was simple. One concern might be with how long the silicone strings will last. I’m also impressed with the ability to control volume and to have a background beat. Also, the ability to use headphones is great, but should have been able to connect to Bluetooth, because who has wired headphones any more? Read more

Very interesting, but knacky. The string sensitivity doesn't seem to have much of an effect when adjusted in the app. You need to be very careful when finger-picking, as a slight touch on another string will be very loud as compared to a real guitar. I like it so far but when I tried getting the app they ask for a CC and say you will not be charged. I used Apple Card and got a warning that I was being charged $34.79. Edit. Aeroband reached out after seeing the above and confirmed that the app is free. I downloaded it and it works fine and has lots of useful lesson and practice sections. This is one great experience. I have played 12 and 6 string guitars for many years and am the lead guitarist in my band. This is a guitar with many affects available. You don't need a capo or an amplifier. You can adjust the volume, the bass and treble, add drums and make it sound like a piano, Banjo, flute and 3 other instruments. There are markers on the neck that let you know how low your battery is. It also comes with a charging cord and instructions. Very satisfied with the quality of this product. Would recommend it to anyone who has or hasn't played a guitar. Read more

This thing is so much fun to play on. All the different settings are fun to play with and sort through, the built-in amp is surprisingly good, and the drum machine has some fun beats. The only thing I wish is that there was a way to change the hammer on/pull off setting and palm mute/scratch settings on the guitar. Unfortunately, you have to download an app to do that and it's a little annoying. Also, I can't seem to find a way to add or change the guitar tones, so I'm thinking it's not an option without some DAW software and that's also a bit of a bummer, but not the end of the world. It's still super fun to play, great for beginners to learn on, and like my friend pointed out, great for people with nerve pain in their hands and/or wrists because you're not pushing on real strings. Very impressed with this thing and I have been playing guitar for over 11 years. I definitely agree with some videos I watched. This is geared for people who really want to play but have issues with joints or pain. I am not talking about pain that you feel when you first start. Unfortunately. you just have to deal with that till your fingers are stronger. This would be more for someone with arthritis or other joint issues. The electric sounds are not great like any digital guitar, but the acoustic sounds and bass sounds are pretty good. I think this is a unique addition to my collection of guitars. Read more

I was very excited about this guitar. And I have to say that I didn't like it at all! I have been playing guitar for a few years and I must say that for someone who already plays guitar the sensation is not very pleasant. I was expecting the app to be entertaining and with lots of effects and tutorials! But I tried it with iPhone and Android and the connection is terrible, the Bluetooth disconnects every minute, I must say that they have a lot going for them. I am super excited to use this smart guitar! I have no idea how to play yet, but my son and brother both play, and I can’t wait to surprise them with what I learn. This seems like the perfect tool to help me transition to an acoustic guitar down the line. I have many guitars in my collection, but nothing like this one. I love the idea of a truly silent practice guitar that looks, feels and plays like a real guitar. This provides a similar experience for sure, but don't expect it to feel like the real thing. If you keep your expectations in check, this can serve a purpose for travel and practice. It feels great and very much like a regular guitar. The "strings" on the fretboard are actually touch sensitive nylon bars that feel similar to strings. The body has actual strings that never need tuning and do not really produce a sound. The magic happens with the electronics that converts the strumming and finger positions on the nylon bars to sound. There is quite a bit lacking. For example, this unit does not support string bending (yet), which really forces me to alter my playing. Hammer ons, pull offs and slides are supported if you turn them on in the app, but then the playing becomes less precise because you can easily accidentally trigger a hammer on. From seeing reviews of this guitar when it was first released, it appears that updates have improved the guitar's playability, and the company promises more updates to come, including bending support. If you understand this guitar's limitations and can play within those, this is really a nice practice tool. There are a lot of nice features, including different guitar sounds, other instrument sounds, drum machine, play along music with tabs, etc. Being the only guitar of its kind, I think Aero has done a great job and hope to see improved playability and sounds as updates are provided. This is written from a complete amateur who also owns an acoustic guitar so just bear that in mind. As someone who's just starting out I think this is a really cool and interactive way to play a guitar, hopefully without ever needing to tune or replace any strings at all. This comes in a giant box that fits the guitar and the assembly and everything is really easy to get setup - just install the bridge and turn the power on and you can start playing immediately. It comes with a usb-c cable to a usb-A/usb-c cable depending on if you need the converter head or not, along with 3 picks and a screwdriver for taking it apart should you ever need to. Getting setup and going was really simple and I think the power of this is definitely additionally helped by the mobile app. There are buttons towards the headstock that can change the tune of the guitar and also include some tones. The main fretboard of the guitar is not strings but it recognizes where you place your fingers to create the sound. The part where you use the picks is where there's real strings so if you need to replace any it would be there. One thing that definitely took some time to get used to is if you wanted to mute it after playing you would need to either cover the fret entirely or place your hand on the mute bar close to where the strings are near the bottom. Essentially if you were testing and normally want to hold onto the strings on the fretboard there's a weird way you have to hold it to mute, or maybe that's just me as a beginner. The power button is also a knob that controls volume and there's another button next to it that can create a drum beat if you need it. There's headphone jack and mic input if needed for other uses as well or if you wanted to be quiet since all the output would go to the headphones. The mobile app I feel is the other half here - unfortunately you need to create an account and it seems their password field doesn't accept special characters which is very odd in 2025 but I digress. In the app you can pair the guitar through bluetooth and look for videos and other things to help you learn. There are songs that show you the fret positions needed for the songs and the directions as well - if you hold onto the frets you will see the notes light up on your phone which is really cool! Definitely useful for a beginner trying to learn and there are also videos to help beginners here as well, though I'd imagine these aren't nearly as useful for someone more practiced and probably the only good use is the ease of traveling with this and playing with headphones on.
