the temp controls are flimsy and liquid gets underneath the plastic screen. the control surface is very sensitive and you'll have to press in different spots to turn on/off the unit or the fan. the temp sometimes goes to the max by itself if there is any liquid on the surface. And the entire unit shuts off prematurely for hours and blinks red. The materials are good quality but the digital interface is very sloppy and undependable. This is why I give this unit 1 star. Gave this to my wife for Christmas b/c she had seen write ups and on social media about it and several friends could not stop extolling how great it was. Once we figured it - add water to help eliminate the smoke- fyi, it has been great. My wife has done steak and chicken mainly and it tastes like it was cooked outdoors. The grill looks beautiful and is made of good material. It is easy to assemble, use and clean after cooking. So far I have used it to cook steak and sausage. They both came out looking great and tasteful! The only thing that I don’t like is the temperature control button is not sensitive to my finger. I have to pressed it a few times, with the right amount of pressure and at the exact spot, in order to turn the temperature up or down. I think after a few times, I will get used to it. Also, the instruction manual said there is a white filter strips near the fan and that the filter is replaceable. I looked for it everywhere and upside down, couldn’t find it.
