The Narwal works very well and cleans almost as well as my IRobot Roomba. I own the IRobot vacuum that empties itself and the IRobot mop; and in comparison the Narwal works very well. With the Narwal you have to empty the vacuum after every use whereas with the IRobot you have to change the cleaning pad and refill the mop after every use. So with either brand you have to give something up. The one thing that would make this a wonderful product would be if there was a way to have it self-empty the vacuum. The Narwal does take up a bit of floor space and the overall system is a bit heavy. If you had a multilevel home you would need one for each floor since it is too big to move around. Whereas, the IRobot can be carried upstairs to vacuum or mop. Another feature I realized the Narwal does not have is the ability to stop if it comes to stairs. Being used to the IRobot stopping, I almost let Narwal roll down my garage steps, luckily I caught it!!! The Narwal circumference is larger than most robo vacs so it covers more area in a shorter amount of time. The app was a bit tedious to set up and for someone who is fairly tech savvy the app is not very user friendly. Again, I am comparing it against the IRobot app. Overall, this is not a bad cleaning vacuum/mop system. I just hope it holds up overtime as well as my IRobot Roomba. This product is (so far) not consistent or effective enough to be deserving of the current price tag. For one thing, I am in the crowd of people that cannot get this thing to connect/ communicate with the mobile app. That's a big component of it's usability that doesn't work. WiFi is on and strong, everything plugged in and active, but will not pair up. The app itself has poor reviews for seemingly the same reason. Good thing is, it still will work without the app (so far), you just can't track it or see the course it's mapped in the space. The robot is a behemoth, but she is a beaut Clark. But all that size makes it a bit bungling at times. After mapping with some ease, the robot was falling all over itself around runners that it has gracefully navigated prior. Avoids low to medium pile area rugs altogether, which was a surprise. In a different room, got itself jammed under a recliner and stubbornly wouldn't reverse or turn out/away. Kinda odd, like, this is not the occasion to turn into the skid. When setting a course to map, you think it's confused, but apparently it knows what it's doing? There are spots that it is adamant about covering even if you don't want it to, AHEM, and this is where the app function would come into play, but doesn't come out to play because it won't work. It does a decent job at cleanup. But takes an hour (!) to vacuum only, a 4 bd house. While there is convenience to that, I could probably do the same in a fraction of the time, and use less electricity while leaving the floor even cleaner. And maybe only fall over myself once or twice. But certainly not pick fights with recliners or area rugs. It's like having a tiny cleaning butler! The auto-feed function automatically keeps the mop cloths damp, so I don't need to stop and refill them every few minutes. The arcuate route planning ensures the robot cleans every nook and cranny in a methodical pattern, no random bouncing around here! The mop heads heat dry after cleaning, which helps prevent mold and mildew growth. This is a big plus for keeping things hygienic, especially in humid environments. The brushes extend to clean edges and corners very well. The LCD touch display is easy to navigate and lets me control the robot, monitor cleaning progress, and schedule cleaning sessions. This vacuum is quiet compared to other models I've used. No more disruptive cleaning noises to distract me doing other tasks. The child lock feature gives me peace of mind knowing little hands won't accidentally bump the buttons and send the robot on a rogue cleaning spree. This robot mop and vacuum combo is on the pricier side. While the robot functions well on its own, there isn't a dedicated app for remote control or scheduling. For some, this might be a drawback, but for me this is a preferred simple way to operate without the need to install app to clutter my phone. It's like an AI vacuuming and mopping machine. Great vacuum. I have tried dreamy X20 ultra and ecovac x 2 omni and compared to them this one has bigger dust container and much quieter than both of them. It has two side brushes that helps dirt get into vacuum very easily. 👍 Read more
