I actually like these acrylic markers more than my posca markers because I prefer the flexible brushtip on Arrtx markers. The lighter colors are a bit translucent, but if you layer it multiple times it blocks out black pen drawings. After about 6 or 7 layers, the light turquoise fully covered a black marker drawing I didn’t like (it’s a square blotch in the middle of the third photo). These markers work best on smooth paper in order to blend and layer colors. If you use the wrong paper, or don’t let the first layer dry, it will pick up bits of paper. The best part is that they don’t bleed through on the other side. These are perfect for my sketchbook to quickly get color in. They do dry on paper fast, so blending two colors has to be done quickly switching between two while both are wet. I’ve only had them for a few days and they don’t come with care instructions, but on their website they recommend storing them sideways to prevent it from drying out/leaking. The caps click into place to prevent drying. I chose the 60 count Anime color set because I loved the saturated palette and don’t really use metallic colors. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of options for darker skin tones to mix with. These are best for background/landscape illustration and any other bright colored subjects. I also noticed that some colors dry a bit darker, so having a swatch page is helpful. These markers are so helpful for learning how to use color, and the medium is really forgiving because you can recolor areas without it affecting the other side of the page. Read more
