If your wondering about the point of the video, it is merely to illustrate fan noise. As I often work away from my desk, editing both video and photo I tend to carry a couple of small SSD drives around with me to back up the work from my laptop. This handy little enclosure takes things one step further as not only does it act as one of the backups, it also allows me to save precious disk space on my Macbook as once I have saved the raw unedited files as copies elsewhere I can edit directly from this without noticeable lag. As I heard a rumour that I am getting a new iPhone 15 Pro for Christmas I thought I'd jump the gun as this will allow me to shoot pro res video on the phone and save directly to an SSD without needing a computer as a go-between. For now I have a 1tb drive inserted - an easy task to do- whilst I give this a long term test. but so far I am more than happy other than with the occasional loud fan noise which doesn't seem to be triggered by any particular action on my part, it probably isn't that loud but as both my computers are silent it is very noticeable. Supplied with this are a couple of thermal pads to allow for upgrading to another drive in the future, a lanyard/usb cable for if you don't wish to or can't plug the drive in directly using the built in male USB C plug, and a silicon protective case, which does bulk it up a little but offers a fair degree of protection. This is the first case I have seen so far with this form factor and I'm quite impressed. Read more
