I admit I wasn't the biggest fan of the original on the PS2 and only managed to get a few hours in before switching to another title and forgetting to return. Therefore, this remake was the perfect opportunity to give this game another chance. Im so happy I did because it was such a great experience with loads of satisfying and tense moments. If you are brave enough, I recommend playing at night with headphones the atomosphere and creepy vibe maintained throughout the game is unmatched. The pacing might not be for the more action heavy fans but this is a survival horror at its best. No spoilers but there are multiple endings to unlock and I was very satisfied with the one I received. One of my favourite games of all time just got even better with this awesome remake. Even my partner, who is not a horror fan, enjoyed watching and helping solve the puzzles. I remember this on the original ps2 so I’ve been wondering if this remake will be any good or not. If you have played the original this remake is exactly what you will remember. Its a bigger game so more places to explore which is better, good puzzles, top graphics and still captures the qualities of the original plus trophies to collect too. Atmosphere is great with jumpy parts in pretty scary environments, the music suits it perfectly. You can set the difficulty of the puzzle mode and game before you start, it has a 90’s mode for fans of the ps2 era, which you can toggle on or off. Single player only so there is no online games and you will need about 50GB approx memory available on your ps5. Read more

This game is by far the best horror game I've ever played. I've played resident evil, outlast, evil within etc, but in terms of pure psychological horror, no other game will top this. The amount of emotional value attached with this game is unmatched. I've also played and finished the original silent hill 2 on ps2 around 12 years ago and this remake took me back to the same level of excitement back in the day. Go ahead for it! Read more
