Der GameSir G8 Galileo ist meiner Meinung nach ein hervorragender Controller. Da ich große Hände habe kamen Alternativen mit sehr schmalen, seitlichen Griffen oder nicht ergonomischem Design nicht infrage. Der G8 ist wunderbar dimensioniert. Auch das Buttonlayout ist für mich gut gewählt - alle Tasten und Sticks sind bequem zu erreichen. Zuvor habe ich den G8 mit einem Honor Magic5 Pro verwendet. Dieses passte allerdings nur ohne Hülle/Case in den Controller. Als ich auf ein Xiaomi 14 Ultra gewechselt bin war mir bewußt, dass dieses nicht in den G8 passen würde, denn der Kamerabuckel auf der Rückseite ist einfach zu massiv. Da ich mir aber vorab die Maße angeschaut habe hatte ich die Vermutung, dass mit einer Aussparung der Gummirückseite und dem darunter liegenden Plastik vom Backplate des G8 das Xiaomi 14 Ultra hineinpassen könnte. Nach einem beherzten Einsatz eines Skalpells kann ich jedenfalls bestätigen, dass ich auch das Xiaomi 14 Ultra mit seinem gewaltigen Kameramodul nun perfekt in den GameSir G8 Galileo stecken kann (siehe Bilder). Alles funktioniert wie erwartet. Insgesamt fühlt sich der G8 wertig an. Nichts hat unnötig Spiel oder wackelt, die Buttons funktionieren sehr präzise (vergleichbar mit meinem Xbox One Controller). This is just an amazing piece of device. I never thought of playing game on mobile but after I saw my coworker playing games on his phone I decided to try it too. But I went a bit further by getting a controller. This is amazing quality, the buttons feels amazing just like a Xbox controller, it also isn't too heavy and the size is just right. If you have a big phone just keep it mind it will make it bigger. I have a S24 Ultra and I am playing games from PSP and PS2 all maxed out. The mapping is easy peasy and if you are using an emulator it maps to the buttons amazingly as well. However the touch screen games sometimes are a bit wonky with the right stick and takes a bit of adjusting to make it work properly. Overall I give this a 10/10. Great value for money with zero lag. Bought for some android gaming but especially streaming via Xbox or PC; works almost flawlessly for cloud gaming provising you have decent fibre internet speeds. Anything running on the phone native works great with the controller which is extremely comfortable, robust and correct size, an issue with the Nintendo Switch joycons for example. Honestly I would never consider playing proper android games before owning this but now it's like a having a fully powered console. Deffo worth £80. Minor cons would be very slight wiggle as it's not secured with any clips or something, and the phone connector is quite delicate but TBF I haven't had an issue to date. If you want a switch, ps portal or steam deck etc this isn't the same but covers much of the same potential at a fraction of the cost. So what can I say? I’ve gone through let’s just say a number of mobile controllers I have an iPhone 16 pro Max but I ended up getting lots of cheap ones which I didn’t work or broke on me. I was a bit worried spending extra on this one, however, I could not be happier But you do have to remove your phone case that doesn’t bother me in the slightest to be honest it’s so comfortable the buttons everything just feels amazing. I’ve been very picky about a gaming controller for mobile gaming. One of the biggest pains was finding one that allowed a phone case! I can’t stand accessories that don’t allow room for phone cases, and while I understand that cases come in different shapes and sizes, it’s not my thing (not being able to accommodate them). So when I read the reviews and some saying it works with cases I tried my luck. I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max w/UAG Monarch Kevlar case. I tried to fit with the case on and it didn’t work, as usb-c wasn’t long enough to plug in. I was on my way to return the controller when I decided to try it without the case on. The controller was amazing, Hall effect joysticks is a must for me as it just means better quality and thought was put into the build. No lag obviously, and I dominate in COD Mobile and Combat Master. Instead of returning it I decided to modify it (I liked it that much). I cut out the rubber (as pictured) on the usb-c side and phone w/case fits perfectly. No issues with the mod, phone doesn’t slide around and I’m much happier to have this accessory allowing case support. Just be aware some cases won’t fit as I tried my Son’s case another UAG which did not fit. One thing I’m disappointed with is the app support for iOS. It’s non-existent, or rather there is no support for this particular model (yet). Android seems to have this available. So not sure how firmware updates will work or how to make the back triggers a shortcut unless it’s available in game? I hope the next revision of this controller would allow a movable outward usb-c connector. Some accessories such as the FLIR has this adjustment which you can use a wheel to slide it up and down. Overall I’m extremely satisfied with this controller and hope that more iOS games start supporting controllers. Read more

TL;DR: best controller I've ever used, and it works with a thin case on Red Magic 8 Pro. I am using the G8 with the Red Magic 8 Pro with a relatively thin case. I've used the Backbone and Razer Kishi 1 for iPhone 13 Pro Max and GameSir X2 Bluetooth on both Android and iOS, and the GameSir G8 is, by far, my favorite mobile controller. While it is large, it's for the better. It feels like I'm holding an Xbox or Switch Pro controller, which is far more comfortable than the previously mentioned controllers. The other remotes I've used felt like I was using a Vita, which is fine, but after getting used to the Switch, is a bit cramping. The buttons feel right. I can't exactly explain how, but the buttons and sticks don't "feel cheap". Not overly clicky (my preference), but doesn't feel like I'm pressing into a pencil eraser. The trigger buttons (L2/R2) feel great to press, but kinda wish there was a little more resistance. May be cuz I'm used to Haptic Feedback from the ps5, but it's not a huge negative (I wouldn't even consider it a negative). The GameSir app seems iffy to me. Don't know why it needs certain permissions (like Location), but I only plan to use it for the button mapping for games like Genshin Impact. The Red Magic 8 Pro button mapping is serviceable, but the camera control/mapping is jittery as hell, which makes playing Genshin Impact feel like I'm playing with mapping on. The button mapping from GameSir is amazing! Not only is the camera issue gone (if anything, it is TOO sensitive, on that later), but offers combination inputs, which Red Magic doesn't offer (that I'm aware of). I've mapped the game with near identical inputs as the ps5 version of the game, and it feels like I'm playing it with native controller support. I haven't messed with the button sensitivity features, but is available, so, my issue with "camera sensitivity" can be fixed to my liking. There's also 2 mappable buttons on the back. I don't use them, but for those that do, enjoy Now, a major plus. IT CAN BE USED WITH A CASE ON!!!! I hate having to remove my phone case, and always get paranoid about dropping my phone while trying to connect the phone with a mobile controller with a connector. When I first attached the phone with the G8, it didn't get recognized, and took the case off. After a few hours of testing, setting up, and playing with the controller, I decided to try with the case again. Didn't work. Then, I get it a small "squeeze" (just enough to make sure it connects), AND IT WORKED!!!! I decided to keep playing to make sure it didn't disconnect or give me issues, AND IT DIDN'T. It plays flawlessly with my case. My case has a transparent back with a MagSafe kickstand and a black trim trim with "teeth" in the corners. The "teeth" hug around the rubber grips of the controller, making it a perfect fit. The price may seem high, especially compared to other $40 controllers (like some GameSir sells), but trust, the extra cost is worth it. It is beyond comfortable, feels like a console controller, works with a thin case, has great button mapping from their app, the price is between the cheapest and expensive controllers, and is the best controller I've ever used. To start with I have tried a few different telescopic controllers, and have fount that this is one of the most comfortable ones I've used. When it comes to gaming, my preferred way to play is big screen TV, comfy sofa to sink into, and my XBOX series X, as I'm a casual console gamer and like to game in comfort. In addition, I have very large hands and thick fingers, so a larger controller is much more comfortable to me. However, since having a baby and the Xbox being in the room he sleeps (we share a house with family), and the only time I can game is when he's asleep, means that I can't play in my preferred way. Since discovering remote playfor my XBOX though, this has been a game changer, allowing me to game when I can. It is clearly different than my preferred way of gaming, but it's still good to have the option to play on my downtime!! With the introduction out of the way, I will get into the details. This is amazing. Period. The fact I can use a case of 1 mm thick and it still works is awesome. The fact that it's a wired connection is fast and snappy, and doesn't affect the lag like Bluetooth controllers can, and the feel is high quality. It has everything you need to play on XBOX, PlayStation and emulators, though I don't do this part, only XBOX remote play. The feel of the co roller is compact enough that it doesn't feel bulky which is a good, but a tiny bit bad which I'll explain. It does feel like a 3/4 size controller. But with me having large hands it still feel a little cramped. Mainly the location of the D-pad and the right stick. They are a little bit too close to left stick and face buttons respectively. This is a tiny issue as I mentioned, as I just work around it by shifting my grip a little. Anyone with small, medium or even slightly large hands will feel comfortable using this, for even long gaming sessions! The sticks are buttery smooth due to the anti friction rings, and the face buttons and D-pad have a weighty pressing feeling, and you know when you've pressed them with the satisfying feedback of each press. The bumpers and triggers are console quality and have a perfect resistance when pressed, and again, you know exactly when you've pressed them as they have great feedback also. There are map able buttons on the hand grips but I don't use them, but they are easy to program and change on the fly should you need to. To summarise, this is an excellent wiece of kit that will absolutely improve your mobile gaming experience ten fold, and is absolutely worth the $79.99 price tag. Read more

Wow. What a product! This has changed the way I interact with my phone forever. I did however have a heck of a time getting the product as it was marked as undeliverable at the 'out for delivery' stage of the order. Also I had a heck of a time getting Xbox Cloud gaming working at a playable level; I ended up having to download a third party app to resolve that issue. As for what the product is? It's a controller that you slip your phone into to allow you greater control over your mobile gaming experience. You need to download a Gamesir app for additional functionality such as the ability to take screenshots and so it works automatically out the box. That being said I've found with emulators you do have to manually input the controls and disable the onscreen overlay. As for how it works? It works seemlessly with Xbox Gamepass right out the box and on emulators once you input the controls it works fine. I'm not sure if the triggers are analog as it didn't occur to me to test it. One thing that I like is how similar this device feels compared to an Xbox controller. It has the same textured back and I swear if it weren't for the phone inbetween the halves I'd say it had the same form factor as an Xbox controller. One odd thing about it is the SNES color scheme without the SNES button layout. My biggest gripe about this product, and one that is easily solved with software settings, is that the sensitivity of the sticks feels incredibly high out the box. The movement is fluid and accurate just really loose however this can be fixed by dropping the sensitivity in the game settings. I found cutting the sensitivity in half was perfect for my taste. One downside to this device is software support. Big first party titles like Fortnite and Apex Legends work fine but the vast majority of apps out there don't work. I was hoping Baseball 9 would support it as it's my favorite mobile game but it doesn't. I highly recommend getting this device if you use cloud gaming or emulators and transcend from those crappy on screen overlays. The most annoying part of this program is the set up; yeah zeroing in on the controller is normal but you don't think about all the time it's going to take to download and transfer files so I suggest getting that in order while you wait for shipping. I tested this with a Samsung Galaxy S20+ and a Pixel 8 Pro with a case and they both fit perfectly flush. Read more

I bought this mainly to play mobile FPS. I come from a console and I recently started playing mobile FPSs like the newly released COD Warzone and Farlight. To be honest I sucked with touch controls and I need something that'll get me the console feel that I'm familiar with, and I'm glad to say that the GameSir G8 has achieved it for me. I'm playin better ( just won 3 games in a row haha) and I'm enjoying my time with this.
