What a brilliant game. This is very much a tongue in cheek third person shooter and live service game. Personally nothing turns me off more than live service games, but this has been brilliantly crafted. Set during a galactic war where the Helldivers fight against their enemies, the Automatons, a race of machanical warbots (think The Terminator) and Termanids, a race of giant bug creatures (totally not inspired by Starship Troopers) whereby the Helldivers spread "managed democracy" to the Galaxy. Combat is fast paced and frantic and the action is explosive with the use of tools like orbital lasers, air strikes and dropped in heavy weapons. This is well worth a buy, even without friends, drop in and drop out multiplayer is great and the game runs well. 45 hours in and it is still fun to see the way this game evolves. So much fun, very addictive. I play with friends but also solo and with randoms. I genuinely have just as much fun with randoms as I do my friends, as long as you have decent communication through using pings and in game commands you will have a blast, I would consider this essential if you own a ps5.
