Updates: I emailed Naturehike about my issues below to find they had also reached out to me through Amazon the same day in response to my original review. They were receptive of my feedback and very easy to work with me on getting a replacement rainfly. It arrived at my home in approx two weeks, much quicker than I expected shipping from China. I was able to set the tent up in my yard for about 8 days with significant rainfall several of those, and I am very happy to say that the new rainfly performed admirably, not a single drop of water in the tent any of the times I checked it during and after showers. Hopefully my issue was a rare occurrence, but I would still suggest testing the waterproof capabilities thoroughly before taking it out remotely. I also very much appreciate Naturehike's customer service handling things so well and taking care of the issue for me; they were much more responsive and helpful than some US camping gear companies I've had to contact for product issues in the past. With that said, I would very much recommend this tent, and I will likely purchase the larger family model in the future. Original Review: I really like the form, features, and size of this tent, but for smaller tent priced at $300+, I expected better. It did fine in dry weather but failed in rain showers. At this price point, rain should not be an issue unless you're in monsoon-like rain, especially with the listing promoting the tent being waterproof as a feature. I bought this tent primarily for my solo tent as a leader on boy scout campouts so I had room to stand and move without using my large family tents or one I'd have to crawl in and out of. I was able to set it up in my back yard a couple of weekends after it arrived mid-May. Set up is easy and quick, and there's lots of room inside for a 4-person tent, could very comfortably fit 3 people on travel camp mats or a couple with a queen air mattress. I can fit my oversized cot, gear tote, and my chair inside and still have room to change and get in/out easily. The poles seem pretty durable, had decent wind one day but not speeds the tent claims to be rated for. The blackout fabric the fly's made of did a decent job keeping early morning sun out but wasn't as effective at keeping it cooler like I've experienced with other dark room tents. Unfortunately I wasn't able to test the tent's rain resistance during those earlier setups, was forecast both times but blew over my area. I took the tent out for its first real use recently on a week long scout campout from July 6-July 11th. Things were great until we got rain the last couple days. The tent kept dry during light daytime sprinkle, but twice overnight we had significant showers, less than my other tents had held up to out of the box, and both nights the rain fly did not prevent water from leaking in. The inner mesh on the roof was soaked due to the fly's failure and dripping into the tent in a few spots. Thankfully I had my tote and was able to pack things back in quickly to prevent them getting wet or ruining my lamp, solar panel charger, or other electronics. Read more

This is a great tent. I have been putting this tent to use this year and I have had zero issues. I do not have any issues with the top bar getting it to click into place. Make sure you extend the top bar first or you will have issues because it’s harder to reach. This tent is super easy and fast to put up/take down. The room darkening is great on the tent because it blocks the heat of the sun and allows you to sleep a little longer if you want. The fly is very durable and is for sure water proof. You will have condensation buildup on the inside of the fly if using a heater but that is to be expected and it will not drip on you. I have had zero issues with the zipper. The tent is a perfect size for my wife and I with our two dogs. This is my go to tent when traveling because I know it’s not gonna let me down and it fits in any campsite. Read more

I just got the 4 person today. This will serve as a basic and initial review. The weather did not permit me to set it up outside so the living room had to do. I had a 4 person Coleman instant tent and used it so much the floor gave out. After months of research, I chose to buy this tent. It took 30 minutes to set up by myself in my LR. The rainfly is nothing to joke about. Slas solid as any other fly I've ever seen if more with a liner of reflective fabric to help with insulation. I learned to put the fly on before fully extending the legs. Otherwise the tent is too tall for my 5'8" self to put the fly over. I will eventually color code each corner on the fly to the coordinating tent corner with loops of cord. This will certainly help configure from to back when putting it over the tent base. Once the fly is on, then I extended the legs up. It's practically a blackout tent with the fly fully on. It was not hard to fully extend the legs but not as simple as my old Coleman instant. The top center pole was just as much as a struggle. It required a bit more grip to pull the poles apart until they clicked in place. Maybe rubber garden gloves would be a good idea. When it was fully up and I stepped inside, I was completely amazed. There is plenty of head space. It's incredibly spacious. I was able to jump up and not hit my head. It can comfortably sleep 4 adults side by side and will be a luxury suite just for me. The zippers are smooth and substantial. There are a lots of options to stake out, tie down, roll up, pitch up with the 2 poles included. I'm sure in the rain the "porch" floap section of the fly would need a center pole in the center to avoid water pooling or to pitch the front flap one side higher than the other to permit roll off. As I said before, the fly is thick and substantial. Without the fly in warmer weather, this tent is a beautiful screen tent. Je reviens d'une semaine en camping dans des conditions variable; nuit a -1, vent fort avec pluie et pour terminé journée chaude. Le résultat est plus que satisfaisant. Même si c'était la première fois que je l'utilisait j'ai trouvé le montage facile. J'ai le modèle pour 4 pers et je l'utilise avec un lit de camp ne laissant de l'espace que pour une autre sur un petit matelas gonflable. It's a great quality tent and cot. Everything fits together perfectly. Just a few minutes and you're setup. The tarp is thick and well insulated. Very good protection against the rain, darker at night than most other tents that I've tried, and heavy enough to not topple over, even with a hot gust of wind. Like any other 2 person cot, I recommend getting 2 mats to avoid feeling the metal separation bar in the cot. Read carefully, tent and cot sold separately. Read more

This is the tent I have been looking for. For reference I'm 6'1 and wanted a smaller tent that was an instant tent. Most I have found I have to crawl around inside or have to be bent over. I can't be bothered with that so I have just always taken my bigger tents out. For quick overnights it was just getting to be too much work. Well then I found this! It ticks almost every box. It's instant setup so super easy. I love the awning and I can stand up inside. Oh and thank God it's not a garish color. That's a bonus. My 80" cot fits along a wall without having it to be kittiwompus taking up valuable floor space. I did purchase a couple canvas tarps to go under the tent as a footprint and one for a tent carpet. I did find that if you purchase a 8x10 tarp you will have a little bit extra that sticks out under the awning but I liked that as a place for shoes etc. I think I might get the bigger one bc I do like this one quite a bit. I wish we had a way of purchasing accessories for these. I saw on a YouTube video that they had a screen accessory to enclosed the awning area which is brilliant! Read more

The tent is perfectly described, does what it is suppose to do. It is very well made and very functional. Here is my issue: It will take two people to set this baby up. I spent two hours trying to do it myself and finally tied one end of it to some low-hanging trees that fortunately were where I set up camp. With two people it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to set up. It is a great tent otherwise. Read more

I had a 3 person tent and upgraded to this 4 person tent so that my cot would fit better. Spacious inside enough to fit 2 people comfortably. Easy set up and take down even with one person. Struggled a little bit putting on the rainfly, but it was manageable. Feels like a sturdy tent with plenty of windows. I rain tested it in my backyard today since rain was in the forecast all day. Seems to be leak free for the most part, but I did find some sizeable droplets by the door which could have been from the zipper area. One questionable component was expanding the center bar. I didn’t hear or feel a click of it locking in place, but it has stayed in place. Overall, so far so good. I hope going forward it was worth the money. It is more of a pricier tent. Read more

I am a 60-ish, rather short woman with a fair amount of backpacking experience, but now I prefer more relaxed car-camping. I wanted a tent that would hold one person and a lot of gear and be tall enough to stand up in, and blend with the landscape, and I wanted nylon (not canvas) to dry quickly and avoid mildew in my damp climate. I also wanted a full-coverage rainfly, as my previous tent’s fly would flap and let rain in when windy. I had my doubts about this tent, as it seemed too ‘cute’ to be substantial or practical, but given the low Prime Day price, I took a chance. I have camped in it twice now, and I am delighted! When the shipping box arrived, I was cautious when cutting through the tape, but there was a strip of cardboard under the top flap opening to protect the contents…first clue that this was thoughtfully made, or at least thoughtfully packaged! It is fairly heavy, but the bagged tent is under 4’ long, unlike some ‘instant’ tents. The bag is top-opening (not on the end), and does not cinch up completely, but is easy to repack, and has handles on each end, and a snap strap around the contents serves as a center handle. There are brief instructions in the bag, and following them is helpful for the first setup, though I have a few tops for improvement. poles are pre-connected with sturdy joints, and their long segments are on the usual elastic shock cords. It took a minute to figure out which way was up, but after the first setup, it was easy the second time. I laid out a tarp as a ground cover, the staked the tent floor corners. (Put the stakes through the strap loops, not the grommets!) The tent has clips to attach it to the external frame. Contrary to the instructions, though, I strongly recommend clipping the ridgeline clips to the top bar of the frame before setting the frame up…much easier to reach those while the frame is still lying on the flat tent! Then raise the frame into position, putting the pointy pole ends into the corner grommets. (There is some tension on the poles when set, but this is what keeps such a vertical-walled tent stable.) Then, the rest of the clips can be attached. The fly is made of much more substantial fabric than the tent itself, and has well-stitched, sealed seams. The bottom ends of each zipper also have velcro reinforcing tabs. Getting it up and across the set-up tent was a hassle, but I use a broomhandle to help. (A second person would make it much easier, but it is definitely manageable by one short, un-athletic person.) The fly corners snap into the latches on the tent corner straps. There are loops with adjustment clips for staking out the extended ‘vestibule’ ends. The shade-fly at the front is supported by two reasonably sturdy poles in three segments, and staked-out cords with adjustment sliders, which get looped around the pole tops. (Tie your own knots) There are also staked cords at the back corners of the fly to aid stability. It was moderately windy the first week I used it, so I used the two other separate cords (meant for the large back ventilation flap) to reinforce the front shade fly. I also lowered the poles to bring the shade fly down a bit and catch less wind, which could be done without having to re-stake the cords. The whole tend felt quite stable in the wind, and did not flap or deflect, though I would drop the front shade fly and zip it closed for truly bad weather. I was impressed by the various thoughtful design features! The left vestibule area has its own full-height door in the rainfly and also in the tent itself. This gives easy access to storage in that area: I stash the cooler there. It would also serve as the preferred door in any serious rainstorm, when the front shade fly is zipped shut and prevents use of the front door. The fly at that corner also attaches separately, and can be folded back. The screen windows are large and plentiful: in addition to the ‘cute’ front window, the right end and back have have large windows, the left end has a smaller one, both doors have window panels, and the roof is mesh. All windows (except the roof mesh) also have zip-up covers on the inside, and the large back window has a corresponding zippered flap in the rain fly which can be staked out for sheltered ventilation. There are stiffened gable vents to reduce condensation when everything is fully zipped up, and a small, low zippered hatch in the right end for crawling-height access to the vestibule at that end. (I believe it is intended as a dog door, if you put your dog’s bed in the vestibule; I use it to stash the tent bags and other items that don’t need frequent access.) There are side pockets on the inside of each end wall, but honestly, these are too low to be ideal. Better than having your phone or inhaler or flashlight go sliding around on the floor, though. The floor itself is not crinkly as some are, but I use a plastic woven outdoor rug on it anyway. I do not expect any tent to be warm, and no mesh-ceiling tent will keep in heat like one with a double solid ceiling/fly comb, but I have used this at 40°F, and being able to seal out the drafts so effectively makes a huge difference in comfort. (That, and a good sleeping bag and hat.) I was dubious about the mesh ceiling, as my last tent had one that leaked like a sieve. This tent has not yet gone through a serious rainstorm, but so far, the fly seems well-designed and waterproof, and all sides zip fully to the ground. No water got in during the minor rain I have camped in so far, and I am optimistic for future outings. Especially during rain, having a tent with room to stand up is wonderful! It is about 6’ high in the middle, long enough to hold my cot without bumping into the walls and still have room to put my chair and all my gear inside…and if I ever bring my husband along, there is enough space for a queen-size air mattress instead, and a bit of gear. The biggest drawback is setup time. It is not ‘instant’, and because of the multiple stakes, clips, and fly, it takes a bit longer than a dome tent would. I could do it in half an hour, though, if I tried. Not ideal for a single-night campsite, but for multi-day outings in one location, it has been wonderful. As with every tent I have ever seen, though, it ships with rather skimpy stakes. They are better than some, but I still replaced them with heavier, longer ones. Read more

I purchased when on discount to test the water with this brand Really easy to set up for a 160cm, older woman. I’m not very strong, so struggle with the heavier tents. Was able to set up less than 10 mins as this tent is also 160cm high - if some one is helping, probably take less than 3 minutes. It’s is single layer, where only the roof is double layer. The walls are thicker than standard tents but the flooring feels very thin. I’ve put in the double size mattress (35cm height) and there’s a little room left for a picnic chair, table and some gear. The extended canopy is great, extra outdoor undercover space for a dining/cooking. As the floor is quite thin, I highly recommend ground sheets of sorts and picnic rugs with the waterproof layer on the internal floors. Would recommend a tarp/canopy if you’re going go somewhere drizzly. I love how pretty it is and think it’s perfect for solo glamping 😁. . Read more
