This is a good quality softbox! The material is on the thicker side, the metal rods are very sturdy, and the velcro grip is nice and strong. The grid is well built also and each square is sewn properly together, unlike some cheaper grids that are only half sewn. The mechanism is a bit tricky to open, and it does take a fair amount of pressure to get it to open all the way. I think this shows just how sturdy the rods are. It should get easier the more it's opened and closed. When you want to close it, put it face down on the ground and slightly push downwards on the back. Then release the latch. If you don't have enough downward pressure, it will spring back up at you. Surprising both you, and your innocent dog that's trying to sleep in the next room... There is an inner hot spot deflector also you can velcro in. It's 2-sided, with one side gold and one silver. For those unsure which way it should go: you want the side with the color you want facing the back of the softbox, towards the light bulb/tube. Die Aputure Light Dome Mini III Softbox kam inklusive vormontiertem Bowens-Anschluss, Außen und Innen-Diffuser sowie Waben-Aufsatz in einer passenden Tasche. Das ganze lässt sich relativ Platzsparend zusammengefaltet transportieren... Zum Aufbau muss man die Softbox nur von hinten aufklappen, mit etwas Kraftaufwand, dass das hintere Element einrastet - man sollte etwas vorsichtig sein, denn die Softbox klappt beim lösen des Hebels bzw. beim Loslassen vorm Einrasten mit starker Federkraft in sich zusammen und man könnte sich verletzen. Vorteil ist, dass man so die Softbox sofort aufgebaut hat, im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Produkten. Anschließend kann man dann je nach Anwendung noch den kleinen Innen-Doffusor übper Klettbänder abbringen, entweder mit silberner oder goldener Seite zur Lichtquelle... Weiters eben den Außen-Diffusor (natürlich kann man für mehr Lichtausbeute auch nur einen der Diffusoren nutzen... Weiters ist auch noch ein Waben-Aufsatz für gerichteteres Licht vorhanden. Die Softbox verfügt über einen vormontierten Bowens-Anschluss, der mit vielen Blitzen und LED-Lichtern bereits genutzt werden kann... bei mir z.B. mit einem Godox 60W Strahler oder einem mobilen Godox 120W Strahler, der per Bowens-Adapter auch damit funktioniert. Weiters auch mit einer Godox-Bowens-Halterung für Aufsteckblitze. Wobei bei 60 W natürlich mit beiden Diffusern die Lichtausbeute schon merkbar weniger wird - für mich allerdings mit einer aktuellen Systemkamera auch noch okay. Optional kann man wohl den Anschluss an der Softbox gegen einen anderen Tauschen, der lässt sich hinten entnehmen, wird von Schrauben gehalten. Fazit: Für mich meine wohl am einfachsten aufzubauende und hochwertigste Softbox, auch wenn es sicher von altbekannten Marken noch hochwertigere gibt, scheint sie mir eine gute Lösung, besonders auch für meine LED-Lichter oder gelegentliche Nutzung per Aufsteckblitz mit passender Halterung. This is a pretty cool little octabox with some nice features. The product description doesn't fully do it justice. I'll skip over the materia/quality review. It lives up the the Apture name and would do well on a professional set. The half-fold design is really nice for transporting and setting up. I like that it will fit in my luggage if needed. A traditional design adds circular bulk, making storage and transport challenging. This is great for folding away flatter. As a bonus, set-up time is quicker, but does require a little bit more muscle to open. The design of this particular octabox works best really close to your subject (like 3' away). It'll produce beautiful lighting. The inner reflection panel is nice for emulating a beautydish, which I appreciate. Try using it without the diffusion - you'll be very pleased. It's a standard bowens mount, and i'll fit modifiers that have a bulb - so you aren't limited to just COB LED lights. Anything that takes a Bowens should fit this just fine. For the price, it's really well made. Read more
