This is a very attractive bedside lamp/alarm. I had a Philips wake light for years and it was pretty ugly. There is a bit of a learning curve to setting it up, but once that's done, it's very easy to use. I appreciate the fact that the alarm is melodic and not jarring, as well as the fact that I don't have to remember to turn the alarm on each night. I like that my 2year old granddaughter has not been able to break this yet! My daughter put it on the headboard so I am really surprised that it has not gotten broken. The colors are bright but we haven’t got her to master the whole point of it yet, staying in bed until it turns green. But I like the idea of it and hopefully one day she will understand it. Although made primarily for children it actually works perfect for my use case. It's rechargeable so you don't have to have it plugged in. I am happily surprised with this clock. I wanted something that would wake me up with light and did a lot of research. Most of the clocks available look to be cheap plastic orbs or circles without much character. This thing is really stylistic and unique and also functions very well. I set it to me up with just light but you can have both sounds and light. And you can use it as a sound machine as well.
