It took a while to finally write my review because when I purchased this sampler the latest firmware update v2.0 was not yet released Very first thing to do is to visit TE's official website register your device and update the firmware to v2.0 it adds a lot of improvements and new features You don't even need batteries you can simply connect it to your smartphone and it will work using your phone's battery You can even use the EP Sample Tool through your smartphone to view what's on the device & you can trigger the sounds from your phone, you can save sounds to your phone or you can delete samples from the EP-133 So portability is amazing even better if you have an iPad or Tablet with a big screen It is LEGO compatible so you can replace the knobs with compatible LEGO pieces (google it) The online manual is very good & you can watch youtube presentations as well Actually it's memory limitation is a plus for me because it eliminates the distraction from searching through thousands of samples Recording with the built in mic is alright but not the best quality but I assume if you buy this sampler you already have your own collection of samples & one shot kits I highly recommend to buy the Decksaver it protects from dust & protects the device while travelling (recently I took it on an airplane inside my cabin bag & Decksaver kept it safe) Read more

A lot of fun, looks amazing, surprisingly intuitive. The recent Champions 2.0 update added some much needed features. Thankfully the slider and everything works - I recommend changing the nobs for lego-cogs for better grip. Read more

Just received my EP 133 in the mail. It took about a week to deliver to South East US. I'll start by saying this is not my first TE product. I own a few Pocket Operators, an OG OP-1, and a TX-6. One thing you should know about TE, that even though "Engineering" is in their name, their products aren't always 100%, and this usually causes a lot of frustration with people. Including myself. With my OG OP-1, I had to return it 3 times because of keys re-triggering. Overall, it's a design flaw, and not a one-off issue. With the EP-133 I read many reviews stating the fader knob was delicate, and could come defective. Happy to report that is not the case with my unit. It works flawlessly. I've also seen people state putting the knobs on the fader is hard, honestly, it's not, and just be gentle squeezing it in. It's basically a LEGO piece with a star socket. Just don't jam it on there, wiggle it until it slides on. It's also not meant to go all the way in. There is a stopper on the protruding stick where the knob goes. The rest of the knobs are smooth and easy to install. Going to play with it for a bit and maybe update this review. But like all TE products, these are not for everyone. There's a niche, and most of their products require a certain level of organic creativity. Hope those reading this and make the decision to buy aren't burnt with defective units. Just be gentle.
