I have a version of this type of head unit in my Scion XB, but it's a 10.1. The one I installed in my XB is slow, limited, and lacks the ability to run a lot of popular apps. This one I installed in my FRS. It worked almost flawlessly out of the box. It's extremely speedy compared to the other one i installed. Swiping through screens is quick and feels like a tablet or phone. Quite a few good themes to pick from. Has wireless mirroring and android auto. The only issue is the factory amplifier is not powered by the harness included in this kit. On the 10 pin harness, pin #9 is your factory remote turn on for the factory amplifier. You'll need to snip this and connect it to the "AMP cont" on the this android headunit. If you don't do this, your front speakers won't work. I still gave it 5 stars because the fit and finish is flawless and the headunit is great, despite that small issue. Read more

This radio does work for a 2017 BRZ but the trim piece to the right of the radio is different so you will need to order a pre 2017 dash piece to make this work, also if you are trying to retain the OEM backup camera you will need an adapter as the 28 pin adapter that's included doesn't utilize the backup camera wires. Finally the front speakers don't work unless you wire the amp in with the adapter kit included. Is see a lot of people complaints on here, this head unit isn’t going to be some 1000 alpine, pioneer, jbl, Sony, etc. car play works flawlessly, backup camera does its job. After tuning I got this head unit actually sounding better than stock. Now the wiring isn’t exactly plug and play. The front dash speakers and rear speakers will work with the harness out of the box. However the door speakers will not. You need to cut the remote amp wire and directly wire it to the amp wire coming from the head unit. Takes a bit of trail and error to get the door speakers running. But it looks good, it’s an extremely affordable alternative if you want apple car play. Just needs a little bit of knowledge to get it running perfectly. Read more
