I can't believe all of the negative reviews - WHAT, because you got a lemon?! Those things happen from time to time. If you ordered a hamburger from a fast food place (to go), and when you got home and found they didn't hold the pickles... would you REALLY go on Yelp and give the franchise a bad review??? One idiot making your burger was probably overwhelmed (or new?!) and screwed-up. Just take out the pickle(s) and stick it in your little brother's shoes - you can laugh about it later when he's grown up!😆 Okay... about this lightsaber. First of all, I'll point out that this is the first "electronic" lightsaber I have ever purchased! I never even bought one of the "licensed", collector's versions that have been around for a while (I did buy that scaled-replica "wall light", which is neat - I want to convert it run off of an AC adapter later). Anyway, this lightsaber has so many options! Color, sound, volume - including silent - which is what the voice SHOULD'VE said, not "mute", motion sensing, it's fairly extensive. I "like" that there is only one button! Would you want random things to happen while you're wielding your lightsaber, because "convenience" buttons are all over it? Also, why would you need to change things on-the-fly... are you suddenly going to turn to the dark side mid battle and turn against your allies?!! It's not super hard to change settings. Just practice and play around with the settings! Keep in mind, that each "personality" (sound) has their own color setting, as well as blade style (pulsing or stable). If you change the appearance on any personality, it will save what you selected!! I don't know if there's a "factory reset" setting (there SHOULD be), so be aware of changes you make. Some lightsabers are REALLY EXPENSIVE! Some are really cheap (and you probably get what you paid for). This one was listed for $113.00... but I had my eye on a cheaper, more limited one for about 70 bucks. Then I saw there was a $15.00-off coupon for the Damiensaber... making it under 100 bucks - that was all the motivation I needed!!! I've been playing with my lightsaber EVERYDAY since I got it, and no issues whatsoever! Good battery life, responsive actions, it's great!! My cats hate it and go hide under the dining room table!🙀😆 I didn't get the Neopixel version (I'm assuming that's the version around $180.00). Considering I bought a cheap lightsaber as a kid, that amounted to a cheap flashlight with a plastic tube attached to it - which looked like one of those golf club sleeves used in a golf bag to keep the club shafts from banging together, and probably to insert and remove them easier. THIS lightsaber is a HUUUGE upgrade! I consider this to be a very good lightsaber. "If" you have any problems... REACH OUT to the seller! It sounds like they take care of EVERY customer!! Don't expect it to work upon arrival, meaning... it's probably going to need a full charge, first. Don't just charge it for 20 minutes and then complain it isn't working. It WILL give you an audio confirmation it is charging. Let it charge for 8 hours the first time - uninterrupted! If you're around it when charging is complete, you'll hear it. Just don't start playing with it at 3am, if you don't want to annoy your family members / housemates. This is a tremendously beautiful lightsaber, it heavy so not made for a small child. The only thing is that it's hard to connect on your phone app. Be prepared to get a little frustrated because it will disconnect the minimum of five times within a minute. The green and red color is the most vibrant of colors, and you can add an effect that makes it like a movie light saber. If you get one turn of the light and use your camera phone and see how magnificent it looks on the video. Trust me this is a great lightsaber for the price, I seen the same lightsaber for at 265 to 500. This is great for cosplay and you rarely will use it like everyday. I dont know if it's great for dueling but the blade is extremely heavy. You have many colors to choose from but you can also blend the colors you want with the app. Read more

So first off, I wound up returning this due to the volume being considerably lower than my other sabers, BUT...I don't believe this is the manufacturer's fault. These thin-neck (i.e. Luke and Obi-Wan's) sabers seem to be quieter across the board, and although not at all scientific, I think I've figured out why: due to the thin-neck section, the overall chamber, if you will, where the electronics are installed winds up being much smaller than other sabers, so there's less space for the sound to reverberate. And if you think I'm crazy, then try removing the pommel and then compare the volume difference versus it being attached. Every saber I've ever tested is WAY louder with the pommel on, versus off. Hasbro Black series Luke (this style) versus Hasbro Anakin (the ep. IV original): Luke much quieter. I recently tested a newer Hasbro Black series Obi-Wan: extremely quiet. I tested this saber against 3 others, including another from Damiensaber: this saber was the quietest and also the only thin-neck of the bunch. So my conclusion is that this is a perfectly fine product and if you're obsessed with this hilt design, then you should absolutely go for it, just keep in mind that it will probably be quieter than other non thin-neck sabers. The blade was super bright, literally everything else was perfect. Fit and finish on the hilt was really nice, too. If I could've just gotten it to be louder, I'd have kept it. Read more

This is an awesome lightsaber. I have the Luke Black Series lightsaber as well and this one is better. More movie like. The color, sound and blade options let you customize what the lightsaber looks like and sounds like. I love it. It's a pain to figure out how to use it. Lots of options and only one button. Lots of videos out there on how to use it. You get use to it, then it's awesome. I say go for it. In closing, yes the other reviews are accurate.
