Als tevreden eigenaar van zowel de Salnotes Zero als de Truthear x Crinacle Zero, ben ik zeer tevreden over de verbeteringen die Truthear in samenspraak met Crinacle heeft doorgevoerd. De bas klinkt (net als bij de voorganger) veel "voller" dan bij de meeste enkel driver IEMs en klinkt meer alsof je naast een speakerset met aparte subwoofer zit, daarnaast klinkt het geheel neutraler dan vele IEMs die achter de Harman In-Ear target aan lopen (iets waar de vorige Zero helaas ook last van had). Persoonlijk ben ik geheel tevreden met het geluid zoals het is, maar ik kan me voorstellen dat sommige Hardbass, Industrial en Dub(step) fans misschien nog wat meer bas willen; dan is de bijgeleverde impedantie-verhogende adapter meestal voldoende, en anders kun je altijd nog met EQ software wat aanpassingen doen. Ik gebruik deze set intussen voor alles van gamen tot films kijken en muziek luisteren, en het klinkt allemaal prima, geen vervorming bij te veel verschillende geluiden ineens, zelfs bij complexe filmscenes of wat aggressievere/gecompliceerdere muziek (Lamb of God, KMFDM, NiN, Pantera, Combichrist of Celldweller), maar werkt het ook prima bij HQ registraties van klassieke muziek (Shostakovich, Saint Saëns, Wagner, Bach, Tchaikovsky). Ruimtelijke beleving in films en games is (zeker met Dolby Atmos of DTX surround) goed en redelijk precies, en zelfs al kan het niet tippen aan een goede (en véél duurdere) koptelefoon, dan nog is het, zeker qua prijs-kwaliteit verhouding, absoluut een betere oplossing dan laten we zeggen de gemiddelde "gaming headset". Dan de kwaliteit : op de (nogal stugge) kabels en de (vrij forse) tuitjes op de IEMs na heb ik eigenlijk weinig op en/of aanmerkingen. Kabels moeten echt een tijdje gedragen worden voor ze wat losser worden en beter gaan zitten, maar dat is bij de meeste IEMs zo. Moest wel echt even zoeken naar de juiste dopjes door de grootte van de tuitjes, maar uiteindelijk paste het comfortabel, zelfs in mijn vrij nauwe gehoorgang. Verder draagcomfort is prima, de behuizingen zijn nog geen Inear/KZ qua vorm, maar opzich zijn ze prima te doen, ook als je ze een paar uur in hebt. De verpakking is (zoals gewoonlijk) netjes, er worden zeven paar verschillende dopjes meegeleverd (zes van siliconen, een van schuim), er zit een (faux) leren beschermtasje bij, vier paar filters (de metalen filters op de oortjes zelf zijn blijkbaar vervangbaar), en zoals gewoonlijk een kartonnen kaartje met Waifu. Alles bij elkaar een aanrader, en zeker in deze prijsklasse zijn er weinig IEMs die écht kunnen concurreren. Read more

The sound from these IEMs is as good as you can get for anything near this price. Smooth throughout the range, warm but with good detailing. Packaging and quality control are top notch. Very comfortable to wear with outstanding insulation from outside noise. FWIW my main listening is classical, mainly renaissance choral music. Mam je prawie miesiąc, jak na razie spisują sie super, mega wygodne i nawet przy bardzo długim używaniu nie czuć dyskomfortu w uszach, jakość dzwięku jest zachwycająca choć podbiłem bassy w equalizerze gdyż lubie jak jest mocniejszy bass i nawet z przejściówką było to dla mnie troche zbyt mało bassu. Izolacja od zewnętrznego świata także jest znakomita szczególnie z użyciem końcówek z pianki pamięciowej które sa w zestawie, w zestawie jest chyba 8 rozmiarów gumek jednakże tylko jedne z pianki więc nikt nie powinien mieć problemu z wybraniem odpowiedniego, najwygodniejszego rozmiaru. W zestawie znajdziemy też pokrowiec ze sztucznej (chyba sztucznej) skóry co daje nam spokój ducha gdyż nie musimy sie martwić o słuchawki podczas ich transportu ze zachaczą o coś i sie kabel zepsuje. Kabel jest jedynym minusem, dla wielu może być za krótki szczególnie dla osób które używają komputera stacjonarnego który stoi pod biurkiem, kolejnym minusem kabla jest częściowo jego wykonanie a dokładniej wrażenie jakie on sprawia, mimo iż część kabla od złączą aż do rozgałęzienia do prawej i lewej słuchawki wydaje sie solidny jednocześne będąc elastycznym i jest ładnie spleciony tak część kabla która idzie od rozgałęzienia do każdej ze słuchawek wydaje sie jakby po niedługim czasie używania miała sie rozkręcić gdyż są to dwa cienkie kabelki skręcone w sposób jak nić dna jest skręcona i przy okazji ten odcinek kabla sprawia wrazenie jakby miał sie rozerwać po jednym mocniejszym pociągnięciu, plusem tego kabla jest to że jest odłączany od słuchawek i w razie jak sie zepsuje to można go wymienić bez kupowania nowych słuchawek. Please realize that this IEM is tuned as "neutral-with-sub-boost" which means out of the box it's going to sound rather boring and with slightly heightened vocals and without EQ you probably wouldn't like it; the magic of this IEM is that it can handle custom frequency settings very well and with little distortion. If you can use an equalizer pre-set on it or a custom one it's going to come alive and for music listening this is basically a requirement and this can be done through almost any music playing app, hopefully one with 10-bands of individual frequency settings from around 30hz to 16,000hz. If you don't know how to set an EQ, try this in a 10-setting equalizer: 30hz +10db 60hz +8db 125hz +6db 250hz 0db 500hz -1db (that's minus 1db (-1db)) 1khz 0db 2khz +2db 4khz +6db 8khz +9db 16khz +7.5db That should make them quite thumpy, brightened with dynamic mids and vocals that aren't forward; otherwise a "fun" sound for music listening (and the sub-bass is intense). If they're too bright then remove 3db from the last 3 settings (4-8-16khz) or play with it yourself. Pros: Dedicated sub-bass driver sounds well separated and handles a max of +12db@31hz with -5db gain from my android playing low and bass heavy rap, +10db@31hz with no audible distortion, +12db is with barely audible distortion and both of those are with everything else EQ'd for music. Everything else sounds good, balanced and separated. They're pretty comfy and they don't fall off. I bike with them. Great for gaming, just doesn't have a mic. Separation, imagining, soundstage and spatial recognition is all there, just not like good open-back headphones. Cons: Isn't a technical, detail oriented or audiophile IEM at all but still sounds good and slightly above average. Driver housing doesn't fit in my smol girlfriends' ear at all. Read more

If you're in the market for a new pair of IEMs, the Zero:RED is absolutely worth considering. - Testing Equipment - All of my testing and listening has been from an Android phone with a budget USB-C DAC or from a modern Dell laptop motherboard’s onboard audio. Being an entry-level IEM, I wanted to test this from equipment that is more representative of what other users in a budget-friendly space may be using. An amp is not necessary to drive these, but you will see some benefit from the use of higher-quality DACs and amps. - Design and Comfort - The Zeroes like many IEMs features a sleek, ergonomic design that ensures a comfortable fit for extended listening sessions. Please note that the nozzle is on the larger side (about 6mm) and those with narrower or smaller ears may find these uncomfortable. I personally have large ears and ear canals and found them quite comfortable for up to a few hours at a time with stock tips. They are very lightweight coming in at just a few grams, and are made mostly with a plastic material but still manage to retain a look and feeling of sophistication. The REDs in particular really pop when the light hits them just right. - Sound Quality - One of the standout aspects of the Zero:RED is its well-balanced sound profile. The bass response is punchy yet tightly controlled, offering a satisfying depth without overwhelming mids and highs. This is managed by one of the two dynamic drivers inside each housing being dedicated as a subwoofer with a cross-over circuit! Simply unreal at this price! There is also a lot of clarity in the midrange, making vocals and instruments sound both natural and detailed. The treble is crisp and sparkly, adding a touch of brightness to tracks without crossing into harshness. I am particularly prone to sibilance (the sharp “sss” sound) and thankfully these are not bright enough to be fatiguing. The soundstage, while certainly not expansive compared to higher-end models, provides solid enough separation to hear individual instruments or pieces of music. I would describe them as a very intimate-sounding but well-separated IEM. Overall, the tuning leans slightly towards a warmer signature but still less warm than the original blues. If you are a true bass-head, there is also an included 10 ohm resistor that will give you a mild bass bump of a couple dB. In my A/B testing, I prefer them without the resistor. - Value for Money - At their price point, the Zeroes offer exceptional value. I have been out of the IEM market for a while, so it is hard for me to say just how well they perform when compared to other, more premium models, but they do certainly punch above their class.
