These lights work well for many things. I use them for a makeup mirror and for board games. You do not have to change light bulbs or batteries. They are brighter than other kinds. This little lamp is quite sturdy. It clips firmly to the side of my lap desk and remains stable with no wiggling or slipping. Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. Waited to review to see how it does. It seems very well made. The neck is flexible but holds position and you don't have to worry about it moving. The clip that attaches to your book is bigger and flat with a little rubber pad that holds the book in place firmly without tearing it up. It flexes slightly to allow the best grip. The light itself is Is long and narrow and design to run from the top to the bottom of your book, keeping the light where you need it rather than just across the top of your page. Straight out of the box the charge indicator showed one light less than full. Opted to see how long it would last before recharging, and it has not died yet (today is 2/29/24). That is 2 months of using it almost every weekday in the car on the way to school for about 30 to 40 minutes each day. That's incredible. Great product. Definitely worth $12. Will continue to check performance after recharging and will update. The video is only to show the product. Normally she clips the light to the back cover of a hardcover book or the last few pages and cover closer to the spine of a paperback. She loves it. UPDATE: Today is 3/19. It finally died. I love this book light. I like that it has 3 different settings for different color light and different settings for the brightness. I got this as a book light because I don't like super bright lights and this one is rechargeable but I've been using it as a regular flashlight too. I have super sensitive eyes (I have actually been asked if I have a medical condition because I am a squinter and I wear cataracts sunglasses that I even use on cloudy days when everybody else can see great... and yes I do but it is not an eye condition it is a sensory overwhelm issue. I am not to the point of needing to wear them under indoor fluorescent lighting though). And I actually got this one because it looked not very bright which I wanted. But when I got it not only is it great for my sensitive eyes on low for reading and not blinding myself or having watering eyes from the book being super bright in the darkness but also I keep grabbing it when I need a quick flashlight to the bathroom and it is just right there in front of me. I even grabbed it one day to go to storage at night because I have not installed any magnetic shop lights like I plan to, and this thing clips, so I can just clip it somewhere in the storage unit and turn it on bright and have a little room light for whatever I'm doing. It also came with the charger which is good because it has one of those old-type android chargers like slider phones used to take. But from experience these charger holes break SUPER easily from normal use so I have been scared to charge it and I plan to be suuuper gentle plugging and unplugging it. Super delicately. Hoping it lasts because I love it! I would describe the light as a soft white or a VERY slight yellow. It feels very natural. If I look directly into the led panel on low it is mostly white leds with 3 yellow leds. I added a really crappy photo of the leds so you can see. :) On medium and high it looks mostly white but I can't look directly into it to see them and be sure. Also the clip is super flexible and has sponges on it which is great but sometimes that first clip in the dark gets botched due to the clip flap being so flexible. But I like the flexibility factor. I just wish there was also a spring to make it not flip totally inside out and get stuck like that, then me get frustrated in the dark and have to turn it on just to see what the issue is. I added a photo of it flipped incorrectly to demonstrate. I'm also not sure if this is mentioned in the description but the base has a button you push to see how charged it is (up to 4 blue lights will illuminate indicating charge level). The pads on the clip are nice for page gentleness in general but my dad collects books and is super picky about things that clip onto books and could cause damage. I don't "think" it would damage any pages or cause any issues but it does grip a little tight so I feel like it has the potential to cause a little dent on something possibly, like a collectible leatherbound of some type probably or one with remarkably thin pages like a gold leaf edition.
