An update a few months later. There is one "bad" on this that I did not see since this was my first cat feeder and hence new to me. It has one big design issue that I think really hampers it. Both my cats still use it without any issue and it still works perfectly but you cannot remove the food hopper to properly wash it! The best you can do is wipe the inside of it and try and get into the bottom area where the food goes and gets spun around to the hopper bit that goes to the bowl. Not the best. It means that cleaning it never feels fully great and is fiddly. Originally I gave this 5 and now I'm giving it 3. ---------------- I got this not sure if my girl cats would use it at all, but it seemed like a cool idea. Especially since it integrated with the "Smart Life" app which I've been using already for some other products. Let's get into it. The good: Very easy to setup. Good clear instructions (including the very useful telling you what you can and can't wash. I appreciated that because I was wondering that as I put it together). It connected instantly via the Smart Life app (I didn't have to scan a thing since the app was set up - going into the app it detected the new device and a couple of clicks later, it was added) and I was able to set up an instant feed and schedule dead easily. The very first time I used the app to make it manually put out food, one of my cats appeared from around the corner very cautiously approaching the feeder. Gave it a couple of sniffs, and then tucked in. A win! Having the 'safety strap' on the top does appear to be a bit of an afterthought in the design BUT they at least thought to add it, and it does the job. The braided style power cable is actually pretty decent so I can see why they comment on it. Having the battery backup as well so the furry monsters will still be fed in a power cut is an excellent touch. The bad: Honestly nothing that i can see yet. Maybe a nitpick - but given the price expecting a bit much probably - having a sensor so it doesn't put our more food if the bowl is full? Never needed that bit as I say, nitpicking. Summary: I can't see a single genuinely bad thing about it and a heap of upsides. If you have a cat or small dog this looks like a win to me, especially if you like home automation. Read more

It’s a great product, easy to use and control remotely. My 2 comments are: 1- The serving plate doesn’t stick in place so when it moves must put it back manually. I added velcro so it stays. 2- While it works most of the time, it happened twice that food made it stuck and it stopped serving at the time and had to be manually cleared so it works again.
