Brought this to replace a Samsung Jet bot and the difference is night and day. At full whack on wooden floors, the Samsung is painful: you can even hear it outside the house. Samsung logic isn't much better, it would roam for a few minutes before declaring the room clean. To be fair to Samsung, it usually presented a full bin after a few days, but you had to coax it so much that it eventually became quicker to clear up by hand. The Homerun? Flawless. At its loudest it sounds like someone downstairs is doing the cleaning: even my terrier gets on with it, going so far as to try and feed it from time to time. The logic is excellent - you need to place the base station on each floor you plan to map, but only once. Let it run and it returns a half hour later with the proof of its hard work. The mopping action is good, and dries quickly. If I had one gripe it's that very thin rugs get confused with mats, so mark it on the app as no-mop or it may try to give your Turkish rug a bit of a light wash (nothing damaging at all if you're wondering, but not something to encourage). Downside? No voice integration, only the app. I'm hoping they'll add it to Google Home but for now it does well enough to clean that I don't begrudge a penny of the investment, not one bit. Using this for 4 months and it vacuums my tiled and carpet floor really well. I am really surprised by the programming. It leaves no space untouched. If it faces an obstacle it picks alternate route to reach that place and vacuums it. It goes to the corners first and then attends the mid spaces. It even climbs the 20mm threshold at door and gets into the other side of room and does its job. Once job is done, it goes back to the docking station discharges debris and then charges. I bought this on Black Friday and worked well for about 2 months then water pump stopped working. I sent it for a repair and got it back next day with a letter saying the robot is damaged and water tank is dismantled and broken ! I’ve never touched it. Or damaged it or done anything wrong with it. However I opened the return box to see the water tank have multiple clear cracks and seems like another device totally. I called the service and told the mangers and made a complaint but they’ve said sorry we didn’t damage it. It’s you and they said if you want it repaired you need to pay us. What made my blood boil is that I looked after the device way too well and nobody lived with me and I’ve never ever sent the device in the way it was returned. However last time I’d trust Philips. Zero customer service and zero service. Philips rejected to return the device and rejected its warranty. They said I’ve sent it to a local shop to repair !! Had previously bought a Lanesar product; but could not get it to communicate with our network at home, therefore it was next to useless for us. We returned the Lanesar back to Amazon for credit. This Philips alternative is an excellent product; and works very well. We could not afford the £650.00 original price tag, but it was on offer for £350.00 on Prime Day. We always buy Philips when selecting a new electrical product, even though they are always more expensive. However in this instance, £650.00 is a lot of money for a vacuum cleaner.
