I bought this mechanical pencil set for my wife since she started a course and doesn't like using pens. At under $15, this pencil set is an amazing value for good quality mechanical pencils. It comes with 6 pencils, however 3 of them use the 2mm lead. The construction of the 2mm pencils are plastic but feels good in hand. It also includes a sharpener on the top cap. Lead refills for the 2mm come in different hardness and there is even a coloured lead refill. The other 3 pencils are the more traditional mechanical pencils, also with plastic barrel but tip is metal. Each of these pencils use a different sized lead: 0.5mm, 0.7mm and 0.9mm, which gives you some choice but if you mainly use a certain lead thickness, the other pencils may not be used. Very aesthetically pleasing. Would be very nice to bring to an art class and look organized. I'll be keeping the lead containers to refill because they look so nice. I am not going to be using the 0.5mm and 0.7mm pencils because those sizes are common, so I already have better quality pencils. The 0.9mm thickness is nice to use sometimes. I like the 2mm pencils the most. Other 2mm options are quite expensive, and these function just fine. I like that is has a point sharpener built in, and I like the different colours so I can keep multiple lead hardnesses at once. The sharpener quickly gets dirty, and it's hard to clean. I have no complaints about the graphite lead included. The erasers are middle of the road. They don't damage the paper, but they don't erase as well as other erasers I have. The coloured lead is not very nice to use. The colours show up quite lightly. Overall 5 stars. I wish the writing tools were just a bit heavier, especially the 2mm pencils, but very, very good for the price. Read more

I'd forgotten just how nice mechanical pencils were. But then, the last ones I had were decades ago, and not NEARLY this nice. Seem quite durable, and a good value. Love the colors. Easy to change the leads out. (After I figured out how, that is.) I've now got one in my purse, along with a small sketch book, to sketch things whenever I've a moment with nothing else to do. Works very well for that! Also, I got the pink/purple ones because it's dark down on the floor. These are light colored enough that I'll be able to FIND them if I drop them. Read more
