I've had air purifiers in bedrooms for years. Not so much for air quality, since I have no breathing issues, but for dust control. 15 years ago I had a fully manual older air purifier in my son's room that he used for white noise when he slept, and I noticed that his room didn't get as dusty. So I started putting smart ones in other areas. The last couple weeks I replaced an Aeris unit that was only a couple years old and cost 10 times what I just paid for this one, because after they were bought out by Roomba, the app no longer worked so it was no longer a smart device. I grabbed one of the large Levoit models for that. Then it was time to replace two Winix purifiers, one that I had for a few years, and one I had stored new in box for a few years and just unboxed last week. Both also had issues recently with the app, and couldn't be scheduled anymore either. So now after a few weeks of shuffling, I have five Levoit purifiers in my house. Four different models. Other than the capacity, they're all the same for all intents and purposes. Auto lets them sense the air quality and adjust speed accordingly, or you can set manual. One of the larger ones from them I have is the Core 400. And about 20 feet away, in the great room, I have an Air+Health unit. When both are on high, even though I sit less than 5 feet from the Levoit one, I can't even HEAR it at all since the other one makes so much noise over 20 feet away. These things run beautifully. I'm used to the ones in the dining room and great room changing speeds when they sense things from my cooking. But I've never had any of the ones in the bedrooms sense anything. Today, after putting this 100S-P and a larger 200S-P in two of my three bedrooms to replace the Winix units, BOTH of them on the other side of the house noted the air change and ramped up their speeds and sent me a message via the smart app on my phone. I was VERY impressed. Never before did anything else in that side of the house ever sense things from the kitchen. They are dead silent unless you crank up the speed - but even on high, they're less noisy than the others are at 2 or 3 out of 4. Outstanding price, smart app allows full control including schedules (I love cranking them all on high during the work day when I'm at the office, and having them turn back to auto just before I get home). I bought the Vital 100S. Like many reviewers of this product, I purchased it because the wildfire smoke had infiltrated my house. I never ever thought that I would be "that" person - someone who needed their own atmosphere! But the irritation in my nose and throat motivated me to buy this unit for my well-being. The reasons I chose this model are: the true HEPA, of course! Also the 3-stage filter. The CADR was good for the size of my rooms (I have open concept on the main floor, and a vaulted ceiling upstairs) the pre-filter is cleanable and I like the fact that I can also get specialized filters for Pet, Toxin and Smoke (in case things get really crazy!). The reviews are excellent and the price is right. I am seriously considering buying another of Levoit's units for the upstairs! I have not used any of the "connected" features so I cannot comment on those. The unit is easy to unpack and I was able to start using it immediately. It is very presentable; it's also light enough to be portable because I've been moving it from room to room (when the wind shifts sometimes the smoke comes into a different part of the house). It's super easy to use; I love the control panel, you just tap on it to turn it on, set the fan strength, and activate the timer. The first 2 fan settings are so quiet that I can barely hear that the unit is on. The third setting is a little louder but it IS moving a lot of air after all! I've only had it 2 weeks so haven't had to clean it or change the filter. One thing I didn't consider thoroughly was the placement of the unit. In order to work properly any air purifier needs to be kind of in the middle of things. Proper placement of an air purifier is between 3 and 5 feet off the ground, with about 3 feet of open space around it. Luckily, the 100S fits well with my decor and is light enough to put on a table or my bookshelves. I use this in my bedroom. It keeps the air nice and fresh in my room. If you have bad allergies buy it, you control it and it works with WiFi so you get alerts on your phone or tablet and it tells you what your air quality is; good, bad, very good etc. while it’s running which is peace of mind. You name it on the app so it will alert you that “your device name” detects bad air or good air! It turns colors depending on air quality. Red is bad. Green is good. Blue very good. There’s 4 fan speeds. It runs quiet on normal fan speed 1 or 2 unless you have it up high (3 or 4). Sleep mode is super quiet. I like the auto feature which is great for power saving and only on when needed; if not on auto mode it will continuously run. Don’t have pets so haven’t used that setting. It seems to keep the dust level down tho and keeps the air fresher and keeps you breathing clearer and easier. It has a pre-filter you can clean yourself by rinsing off to kind of preserve the actual filter & having to buy another so fast! That’s a great idea! I remember my AC unit in a house I lived in had that kind of filter; I never had to buy any, just took it out back and hosed it down! Nevertheless it’s a nice size purifier and I keep it in a cleared corner of my bedroom out of the way. I would say it’s definitely worth the money. Would recommend getting one for sure!
