Going from Ryzen 7 2700 to a Ryzen 5 3600 is a great cheap upgrade. It opened up PCIe 4x on all my nvme drives. The drop to 6 cores is not at all noticeable. 6 with threading is fine for games. My FPS in games did go up a lot, like %30. Happy, Note: it doesn't come with any thermal past. I'm sure the cooler that came with it is fine but i didn't use it. I like my radiator better, 32MB of L3 is nice to. Good processor for cheap upgrade from gen2 to gen3. Read more

Performs well for a 1080p gaming build, or for casual use. Even able to play a lot of the newer titles if paired with the right GPU. While there are certainly more powerful processors out there, this is a great buy for someone wanting to dip their toes into the PC space without too much of an investment.
