I purchased the FX30 for recording concerts and events, mainly classical music. It has the cinematic features I need most, except for a built-in ND filter. However it is much more portable than my FX5, and works with the excellent APS-C Sony FZ 18-110 f/4 video lens. I was somewhat hesitant about its low light capability compared to an A7Siii, but it proves to be up to the job, even in natural or room light for a salon concert. The rigid frame and built-in hard points for accessories, particularly rails and high-torque focusing motors, is invaluable.
