First off for about $50 these things aren't that bad. Here are the cons: There is no smooth swing so the steady hum is odd. Overall the sound effects are a little off. Ignite sounds "not Star Wars-y", the standard hum just loops constantly, clash sounds ok and retract sounds ok. I usually turn the sound off. The size of the sabers are a bit on the small side too. Think somewhere in between full saber and shoto. Perfect for a tween but not big enough for an adult. So what does this mean? These sabers excel at Jar Kai, the dual lightsaber form. I was gonna get some light up eskrima sticks, but these are perfect. Durable enough for several whacks on your ceiling, coffee table and in my case maybe a Christmas tree or two. Put them together and the size and weight make a pretty nice double lightsaber. Another area it excels at. I would recommend putting plumbers tape on a couple of the threads so you're not constantly retightening when spinning. So they're "meh" as a single lightsaber, "meh" as just a hilt prop, but excellent as Jar Kai shotos and a double lightsaber. Like them so much I bought another set. Prolly get a better single neopixel lightsaber down the way that makes all the cool SFX and hums, but I'll take these with the sound off to whack, eventually break and buy another set for $50. We purchased this for our daughter’s birthday and she was so excited when she opened it. We gave it to her and she played with it for about 30 mins. We placed it on the charger for about 2 hours and then unplugged it. The next morning she was ready to play with her new saber and it would not make any noises and after about 30 seconds started heating up. Within minutes it was so hot my husband could barely hold it. Even after cutting it off it would not stop getting hotter. He finally had to open it and cut the wire going to the battery. I am so thankful that we were aware and not to sound dramatic but that it didn’t burn my house down. These are quality light sabers, solid metal handles, strong durable light sections with changing lights, internal rechargeable batteries and sound effects. I ordered the set for my 9 year old grandson, he loved them and they have held up through Xmas and beyond. The only defect was the tip of one of the light sabres didn't illuminate like the other sabre. I contacted "UrWonderbox" Customer Service through Amazon and explained the problem, requesting an extra saber section to replace the defective one. The company sent me a new 2-sabre set instead of just the sabre light section I had requested. I am very impressed, they stand behind their product. it didnt have the sound mute button. as for the Light saber it was enough in length and vibrant in color, however the sound was irritating and was constant even when there is no motion. there should be a sound only at motion and off button. Read more
