He probado infinidad de audífonos (yo creo que más de 20 fácilmente), desde alámbricos a inalámbricos y tengo que decir que entre todos, estos se sitúan en mi top 5 de todos juntos a los Sennheiser HD600, B&W PX8, Focal Bathys, Philips Fidelio X3 y estos (en calidad de sonido). El sonido cuando los sacas de la caja es horrible, puro bajo alrededor de los 150-300 hz que opaca y quita brillo a todo el conjunto y eso que se supone que es el sonido "neutro" de fábrica. La verdadera MAGIA está cuando utilizas la función "Sound Personalization" de la app. Es el día y la noche, todo sale a relucir como se debe, encontrando detalles, brillo y aire a cada canción. SÍ O SÍ necesitas utilizar esta función. Los modos de eq son pésimos, es difícil encontrar un eq que funcione para mi, así que usa por favor el "sound personalization" y vas a escuchar de nuevo cada canción que conozcas. La separación instrumental de fábrica es buenísima, distingues de donde viene cada instrumento y el sonido estéreo es muy perceptible de izquierda a derecha. Here's my opinion and rating after using these non stop for about a year now Audio quality - 5/5 The audio quality on these headphones are phenomenal. Straight out of the box they sounded excellent, and provide a great neutral-feeling sound signature without boosting the lows or highs too much. Comfort - 5/5 The headphones fit very nicely and have rarely caused strain on my ears. The headband and foam around the ears are very soft. I have worn these for 5-6 hours at a time and have not noticed discomfort Build - 5/5 I've seen some people complaining about the build quality for the price, but I personally don't see their reasoning at all. The headset is made of lightweight plastic, but it doesn't take away from the premium feel and look. I love the fabric on top of the headband, and the version I have of these with the black-copper color scheme looks very fancy. Noise cancellation and transparency mode - 4/5 The ANC is nothing notable, but it is far from bad. I have brought it on planes and had no issue with the noise levels. Transparency mode also works great. Battery life and charging - 5/5 The battery life on this is insane. I can go about 2 weeks with constant use before I need to charge. They advertise something like 60 hours of battery life, and even while using ANC the headset delivers. Connectivity - 4.5/5 The reason I rated this a 4 is because I have had some issues with my headset connecting to my devices. Every so often my headset audio will cut out every couple of minutes for about a second. It's not a big issue, as it eventually remedies itself or I can just power my headset on and off to stop it, but it was worth noting. Other than that, connection is pretty smooth. I do like how my headset switches automatically between my phone and computer to whatever device is playing audio at the time. Extra features - 5/5 The app feels well-integrated with the headset, and it provides many options to customize your listening experience. I changed the touch control inputs on the side of the headset to feel more intuitive, as well as turning off some features I personally found annoying like the on-ear detection. The EQ also allows me to create my own sound signatures, and as a result I usually have the lows boosted. Other notable things - I haven't had many issues with the touch controls, and although I probably would prefer buttons, this works just fine. The headset does have quite a large footprint when packing, so I wouldn't recommend them for travel unless you have space. Putting it around my neck feels a bit awkward compared to previous headsets I've owned, but maybe thats just me. These work great for gaming, low latency I'm just a regular user, not an audiophile. As many others have mentioned, the sound quality on the Sennheiser Momentum 4 is outstanding—definitely a highlight. I use them daily for both work calls and music, and they’re extremely comfortable to wear for long hours. The battery life is impressive, lasting much longer than I expected, and the ANC does an excellent job blocking background noise. That said, I’ve run into some connection issues that occasionally cause sound cracking, which can be frustrating but i kinda understand why that happens - ANC cutting in, bluetooth handovers, source switching etc. Overall, though, these headphones deliver fantastic audio and comfort, making them a great choice despite the minor flaws. This is a very capable pair of headphones, and one that provide excellent value. The battery life is simply unmatched and the sonic representation is fantastic, with a wide and expansive soundstage. The only slight downsides are the noise cancelling, which could be better, and the depth of the earcups - they are a bit shallow. I just received this pair and this is the best 500$ I have ever spent in my life. I have been an absolute fan of the WH-1000 XM4 and XM5, and the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. These have been the headphones I have used over the last 4-5 years. Let me tell you, as an audiophile, the Momentum 4 have finally propelled me to the stratosphere of pure joy. These headphones pushed me to tears in under 10 minutes the first time I put them on. The sound is truly out of this world. This was my final frontier, as far as headphones are concerned. I am absolutely blown away by the sound, it's as if I can finally experience sound the way it was meant to be heard. Perfectly balanced, with a very subtle touch of color, just enough so everything stays clean and clear but not bland. The comfort after 4-5 hours is still incredibly perfect, they don't give me that top of the head pressure like the WH-1000 XM4 are giving me. I feel like they are lighter than the XM5. Maybe it's just the fit. The cups are slightly larger, and my ears don't touch the interior at all in these. I have not brought the Momentum 4 with me in a flight yet but the ANC seems very good, if not great. I would give the point to the XM4s for ANC right now but I feel it's still too soon to give my final thoughts on that. So far, the ANC is definitely at the top. Everyone is different. Everyone has different tastes. But for me, comparing to wine, the AirPods Max would be Champagne, the XM5 would be a top vintage Tignanello from 25-30 years ago, the Momentum 4 are one of the best old Haut-Brion I have ever tasted. It's not much a matter if you prefer Tuscany over Bordeaux, it's just to express the way the Momentum 4 are consistently giving me the top of the top experience like one of the best First Growth in existence. The audio quality of these headphones are great right out of the box, didn't even have to tweak with the EQ much just toned down the treble. My only issue is that the Sennheiser app degrades the audio quality for some reason and I did not know this. So at first the audio quality was really bad, it was as if I was listening music through 30 dollar headphones. I tried messing with every setting know to man and nothing seemed fix the bad quality, it was to the point where I had regretted buying the headphones and was thinking of selling them. Finally, I saw someone online mention that deleting the Sennheiser app helps increase audio quality of the headphones. The second I did that the audio quality was so much better and clear. So if you're reading this and are planning to get these headphones, just keep in mind about the app, if the headphones don't sound good just delete the app. I would give this a five star, but the debacle I faced makes me remove a star, otherwise they're great, very comfy and good for long listening sessions. I love it. Incredible sound and solid build quality. Battery life is outstanding. The only the issue I am facing is little bit stuttering noise due to unstable connections when connected to my laptop. With my iphone, I don’t face this issue. Overall a very satisfied with my purchase. You might feel little bit heat buildup around you ear since the surface contact of the headphone pads to the ears is little bit wide but very comfortable to wear it as the padding is excellent. 5 stars to me. 4 stars all around for the average consumer due to issues I believe others will find a problem with but I have found some workarounds for I will start off with the flaws (unfortunately it has em) from my experience and some solutions. They are mostly features based. I'll also address confusions and "negative" experiences as there are reviews where clearly it's the people and not the headphones that are the problem yet they are giving this a worse impression that it should have. And lastly praise what it has going well for it Also, I will highly suggest downloading the new app version called smart control PLUS and install any firmware updates. Then go adjust settings or it will have some annoyances. Flaws On-head detection: this causes most of the headaches. For those that like to free up an ear to listen to someone talk better - make a habit of freeing your left ear and not the right. There is a sensor to detect your ear and it is only INSIDE the right earcup. It makes a double click noise when it detects and stops detecting your ear. Unfortunately it makes a similar sound for both which is a huge flaw as you might not know if it is detecting or not sometimes. This will trigger the auto off feature if it doesn't detect you while you're listening to music. It usually pauses from the headset, but there is a possibility it can be ignored by an app and continue playing so when you put it back on you might not even know if it detected you. Another possibility is you made the mistake of pressing play from the app itself when it stops detecting you thus eventually triggering the sleep feature. You can disable auto off but I personally put it in 1 hour just in case as I would have likely readjusted my headset by that point and reset it. This goes into the next feature: auto play. It's perfectly fine on mobile but on PC it can be a nightmare as you could be listening to music, you adjust your right earcup so it pauses and when you put it back on, it might play some other video like youtube in an open browser; it depends on the programs that behave to bluetooth pause/play. So don't have so many open video/audio programs in the background. Also for those with long hair, autoplay can struggle to detect if it completely covers your right ear (some people start to think it stopped working). Overall, I just disabled autoplay while keeping auto-off enabled as I mainly use the M4 on PC, but again, it seems to work really well on mobile. Plus of course if any of these aren't necessary to you, you can simply disable it as a whole for an old fashioned headphone experience to avoid annoyances but I have gotten used to it at this point that I rarely have issues [Update: I just learned on May 2025 that as of the new firmware 2.13.42 it reads "Improved auto-off behavior reducing unexpected behavior during calls or streaming due to misdetection in smart pause sensor", so perhaps this section might become untrue with less flaws down the road thus hopefully improving user experience] Multi- point connection: It can and will connect to two devices that have bluetooth active after they have been paired. There are individuals that pair their headphones to everything and might experience a random connection. Unfortunately no disabling this so you have to be precise with what you want to connect this with. I only paired this to PC and mobile so it doesn't attempt to connect to anything else but in the app you can click to what else in the list want to connect to (or delete). When it detects multiple signals it will prioritize connecting to what you last used, it seems. Not an issue for me. Also, it will ALWAYS prioritize audio for the first connection of the two which will usually be the phone. This is important. If it connects to my phone first, well lets say Im on the PC listening to music, once your phone makes any kind of sound, your audio will switch to it and interrupt the music, then resume playing your PC's music. Because of this, disable useless sounds like the lock screen opening sounds because that will trigger a switch (not sure about typing sounds). I have sound on for notifications to get my attention for the phone but if that is an annoyance I would try connecting other devices (like PC) as your main device first and then phone second. That way, it will ONLY play audio on the main device (PC) in spite of your phone making noises or playing audio. I tend to disable phone bluetooth, so it isn't an issue for me what connects first anyways. Now, this is a major flaw which may have been addressed in the new firmware update and app but I have not fully tested yet so this is based on months old experience. Last flaw with this. Do not have constant audio playing on -BOTH- devices because it will cause some static to what you are listening to. No idea why this happens but sometimes the music sounds glitchy and I realize it's because my PC is playing music alongside my phone. All it takes is not having something like music playing on the second device and it gets clean. Reboot: it can be done on the power button after holding for over 15 seconds. Be careful NOT to do this if it is not your intention. I have a friend who accidentally did this High resolution: app is glitched if you try to do personalized sound after enabling high resolution. It will ask you to disable high resolution before proceeding. All you have to do is go to standard mode, make your sound profile, then go back and enable High Resolution. Confusions: ANC: some people complain you can't turn off ANC. You sort of can. Old app, on the ANC slide, you put the slider in the middle. Most importantly, the new version of the app now allows to turn off ANC and might possibly increase your battery life. Oh, and some people remark of ANC randomly activating when outside. That is the wind noise reduction activating during air blowing directly to your mics. You can turn it off in ANC settings (you can also adjust transparency during phone calls there) but trust me that you don't want to hear wind transmitted into a headset Auto-answer calls: complaints on this but another reason you need the app to disable it if you don't want it. Aut-connect: some complain that if it moves it will auto connect or cause confusion when they don't know why their bluetooth loud speakers stopped working until they realize the headphones are connected. I personally love auto connect and has never been an issue. I put my headphones away where it won't move at all and once I grab it, boom, just straightforward and smooth connection grab and go. This is a feature of auto off so if you don't want it to be doing this you can either disable auto off (more like sleep) or turn off the headphones directly from the power button (which means you will also have to turn it back on with the button). I don't think of it as a flaw to be honest Discord/meeting calls: This is a big one. There are people mentioning how when they get on discord, their music and game sounds muffled. That is its hands free activating because it believes you are in a call. It prioritizes the call once it is activating its mic. You may have noticed it on your phone before too with music getting muffled. Problem is these then get compared directly to a gaming headset. Most gaming headsets have a usb dongle. Those dongles are designed to give both high quality low latency audio and mic signals at the same time. These? They are bluetooth headsets not specifically designed for gaming but rather for high quality audio. This is not a major fault of the headset. There exists a workaround for this but you will have to disable handsfree and rely on a different mic (which can be a far superior option anyways). To do this - on windows 11, go to settings. Click "bluetooth & devices". Then click on "view more devices" up top to go to a drop down list of devices. Scroll all the way down until you find "more devices and printer settings". Find the M4 headset, right click and go to properties. Click on the hardware tab. On this list, look for Name "Momentum 4 Hands-Free" that is under Type "Sound, Video...". Click once on it then click on properties below. In properties, General tab, click on the blue and yellow shield that says Change Settings. Then go to the Driver tab and Click Disable Driver. Reboot PC. Can be undone in similar method. At this point it has no headset mic active ~specifically~ on the PC (phone should be unaffected) so audio will be clear but now an external mic will be needed. Experiences: Connectivity: people say they have connectivity issues but thankfully it is very rare for me. It has a good distance to it too. I keep up to date with everything on my phone Touchpad: some say it is very sensitive. It is certainly more sensitive than usual but there are exaggerations to it. My hair does not trigger it. Turning my head does not trigger it. I don't trigger it with a hoodie on. I don't wear beanies over it (why would you?) so I cant say anything there. Stretching my arms above my head might trigger and laying my head on the right side might make it think you want to change volume or transparency. But some of these reviews are funny. They are not rated to be water resistant at all (like most headsets) so if rain drops trigger it, actually no, WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE IT IN THE RAIN? App: the app is fine minus the glitch [refer to High Resolution in Flaws] and has only been improving bit by bit. There's now also a new version which requires a new download that will likely be getting more of a focus on Durability: it is plastic which makes it lighter but thankfully I have not broken anything. I have bumped it into things, dropped it once. I try to treat is as glass so these are rare occurrences. I would not work out in these due to the fact they are not designed to deal with liquid. If problems occur because you work out in these, well that's your fault, but there exist rubber sweat covers to put over the padding to help out a bit. The Sennheisers Momentum 4/Sport earbuds I believe have water resistance and might be worth a look instead if you need a true gym companion Strengths Audio quality: right out of the box, they are great. It has a neutral sound profile while having some attention to bass. There are presets in the app that are decent and it really does not need a bass booster but it exists. To be honest, I would skip everything and go straight for the sound personalization feature in the app. It's very simple to adjust, uses mostly sliders while you listen to audio. And once you are done it will create a setting that somehow manages to be far superior than what's already available in the app. It just cleans up the sound so much more to your liking; the difference is bewildering. Ever since that point, I have not listened to music the same. Just when I thought I was getting bored of music, these revived that love to want to listen to everything again and also motivated me to listen to things I never did before. There is literally pre-Sennheiser and during-Sennheiser eras to me now and am curious to their wired headsets. One thing that will become super noticeable is its soundstage. It spreads the instruments to a degree where you can notice more of everything. Albeit, this can be discombobulating and bassheads might not like the lack of sharp precision but this isn't meant to be your average linear listening experience (the Accentum Plus offers this at a much lower price). To give an example: What is Life by George Harrison. I might prefer it on the more linear style I am used to but these can separate things to the point where it is also directional and you can feel like you are standing at a concert and George is directly in the middle of it all in front of you so it feels more real- similar to as if you are becoming conscious of your own breathing. And in midst of all the chaos, you can still clearly hear George's voice and you notice ALL of the instruments more. It first gave me goosebumps how much it changed the song. Some songs are designed to be "linear" which could possibly affect emotional type of songs negatively but from a musical perspective, my goodness it is incredible. Now I just go back to see what music I am used to that changes with these (hint: a lot). Electronic/hip-hop music perhaps is the exception but this gives such clarity to detail that it is still a great listen- one thing is for sure these headsets love when there is a band setup (Bjork, the Roots, Gorillaz, etc). Sound quality is the biggest reason you go for these. Comfort: I can go on for a while without my ears hurting or anything. Also these don't heat up much and has proper adjustability for bigger heads Look: I have the black with copper ring and they are absolutely gorgeous. I question the longevity of the cloth on the headstrap but it makes it more beautiful than it has any business being for a plastic headset Features: ANC is better than I expected. It does its job, and though it might not lead in this category, the differences are so small compared to the competition. Also drowned out what I needed it to during plane trips. And hearthrough, although I have had better, they will more than suffice to the point where I rarely have any issues hearing people. The fact that it is good at both of these is amazing for value. Battery: they can go up to nearly 60 hours, especially in standard mode. Not an exaggeration. I can go days without charging them. For this quality of headset, I don't think much of the competition comes close to this. In fact this is the mind blowing part because most other bluetooth headsets don't sound anywhere as good as these and they have half the battery life if not worse. No fears when travelling that it will die on me. In fact, it lasted me an entire week's trip Surprises Gaming: it has low enough latency. Combine that with that very clean audio and surprising directional audio this already has and wow, it performs quite well. I can actually spot details better and sometimes extra details I wasn't aware like I remember distinctly many months ago when I played Paladins, not only was I able to hear behind a wall slightly above me, but I realized it was subtle high heel sounds. I am not saying this will replace top of the line gaming headsets like steel series but if you have these and not a gaming headset, these will more than suffice. Charging: I was already enamored by the battery life but the fact is, it handles charging nearly as well. You can get hours worth per 10 minutes of charging and around an hour and a half or so it will be fully charged. That may not sound great but half of that will net you 30 hours of life which is STILL more than the competition. And the other surprise was that I accidentally discovered on the PC that you can still use it while charging - it simply appears as a different sound output you have to switch to. I thought it was weird how multiple momentum 4's appeared but when I clicked the other output, music started booming through it again. I was shocked. It already has a super long battery life with quick charging. It doesn't need it yet it has it. I have never had a headset that allows that with USB-C. Sennheiser were practically showing off at this point. So I would get a super long cable to make this comfortable during charging if you think this is a feature you will be using These are already the greatest -bluetooth- headsets I have ever owned under the $500 mark. I have tried out direct competitors Airpods Max (best hearthrough and good clean quality) and Sony Xm5's (amazing features and stylish) but the M4 felt like a no brainer. The max have poor battery life (under 20 hours) meanwhile these can reach close to triple that. The XM5's are light and so smooth with their features and touchpad (I loved speak to chat) but their fragility comes into question as they are notorious for the hinges breaking no matter how good you take care of them while the M4's mostly have earpads wearing down (easily replaceable). Meanwhile, guess what? The M4's imo sound better than both of them, are more comfortable than both, and can be found MUCH cheaper than both as I have seen it as low as $190. Even if, say, the Bowers & Wilkins PX8 might have slightly better audio and a better build, it's not a major difference so it is imo horrifically overpriced while this just has much higher value after sales and is an easier recommendation Overall, it absolutely bothers me just how overrated the other headsets on Amazon usually are meanwhile these get a bad impression. Aucun réglage à faire en automatique, même pas l’arrêter ou le démarrer : détecteur de port (infrarouge oreille), veille automatique et activation automatique et une autonomie monstrueuse avec ANC de 60 heures ! Pas de prise de têtes avec les différents modes. Les commandes tactiles sur la grande surface de la coque permettent d'activer mode transparent, la pause, le volume et les pistes avant/après, très pratiques L'isolation couvre la clim, les bruits dans le train, attenue les voies dans un openspace. Super handy to be connected to 2 devices at once as I use these for work between laptop and phone but these also are great for the gym with the noise cancellation to block out the music there. I bought these headphones after my previous pair (different brand) stopped working after a year and a half of daily use. They seemed to work just fine for the first few days aside from the painful noise canceling which I wasn’t going to use anyways and the finicky touch based controls. But then all of a sudden after four days of using them they just stopped making sound, not even from turning on or off, or connection. Nothing at all, as if they were fully out of charge, even though they were at full battery. I knew this because the app showed them still connected. I tried doing a full factory reset and now they still make no noise and can’t even connect to the app as a new device anymore. Read more

The sound quality is great but the volume is low. Like for example, my airpods pro 2 i listen to them on max 70% normally thats the highest i would go and my normal listen % is abt 50%volume. On these however to get the same level i have to get 80/90%. im always 2/3 clicks away from max volume. Im gonna mess around with it a bit more, but if its gonna be an issue, ill probably return them and go for the bose qc ultra. There is no other issue with it for me, the sound is amazing. I also faced a little imbalance in the left speaker in volume i guess. Not too big of an issue. In the end i returned them, because i don’t wanna have it at 80% volume to have a good listening session. I only go to abt 50% with my airpods. If these had an individual volume for the headphones itself i would have much preferred that like the bose qc ultra’s. The anc was good, but not great which wasn’t an issue to me. Cuz anc isn’t a big issue for me. But the volume in the end was a deal breaker, since i don’t wanna listen at 80% all day. I just received these Sennheiser Momentum 4 cans about 7 days ago. I bought them for $270, and now I see you can get them $20 less. I made the purchase, despite the negative reviews posted on Amazon simply because I have learned that reviews don't tell the whole story. Such as often times when it comes to Bluetooth devices, there will be a new firware/update that will need to be done, depending on how old the product is. In my case, that was the case. The firmware update was easy, took maybe a minute or two, and I was off and running. I have owned, and sold several headsets, from JBL, Beats, SkullCandy, Sony and yes, Bose. Now, for me, and how I like my music to sound, the Sennheiser 4s are by far the best sounding Bluetooth headphone to grace my melon. Mids, highs and lows work amazingly well. Wind and string instruments sound crisp, and suppurb! The lows/bass work harmoniously with the above mentioned. The Sennheiser equalizer is easy to use, and gets the job done. Touch controls: they take getting used to, but, once you adapt, it works great. Yes, at times you may pause music when touching the right ear cup, but again, you will adapt and recover. Comfort. These cans are extremely comfortable. Even for my large head. Ear cushions are comfy, as is the head cushion. Could it use more cushion? Maybe if you wear them for 8 hrs straight. Weight. Yes, they way a tad bit more than the competition, but, that is to be expected as the battery is slightly larger...hence why you can get up to 60hrs of life on these bad boys! The cans don't feel cheap, they feel solid. And that is something I can appreciate. Are these cans perfect? They are as close to perfect that you will get (IMHO) on Bluetooth headsets. Are there better cans out there? Sure, If you go wired, and spend a few hundred more, then yes. Even Sennheiser wired headsets (depending what model you get) are better, but that's because they are wired. Of course they will sound better. One thing I didn't discuss is noise canceling. They get the job done in fine fashion. I have tried the Sony 5s, and they are slightly better than the Senn 4s. I have made several phones calls, FaceTime calls and the voice activation works wonderfully! I am 7000+ miles away from home, and not one complaint on how I sound, or, how the other end sounds. Lastly, battery life. It claims you can get 60hrs of life once fully charged. That is a fact, as I have tested that claim and 59+ hours the first charge, not quite there for the second charge. Mind you, it will lose an hour or two depending on what you have activated. Accessories. Well, you can listen to these cans wired, especially if you run out of charge. You will need a dongle (I purchased one from Amazon) and they sound great. It will sound different, and you may need to adjust you equalizer. The case the cans come with is a solid, good quality case with charging type C cable, 3.5 wired jack, and an airplane adaptor to plug your cable into so you can listen to movies or music that the plane is playing. And it all is neatly stored within the case. Final thoughts: I honestly feel that alot of the issues that some people reviewed on Amazon is these headsets have "buggy" issues, or connectivity issues. Perhaps some just don't know how to do firmware updates, the phone they are using is dated? Not sure, all I know is mine cans fired right up, and I did the update straight away. These cans have Bluetooth 5.2, so it should be able to connect to any device that's out there currently. Yes, touch panel does take some getting used to. Much like driving a truck, then driving a sport car. It may take a moment to get familiar with the vehicle, but once you do, it's a piece of cake. I'm usually only an earbud guy. I've always considered myself a high end audio enthusiast, but not an audiophile. I like good sound and a great sound stage. These are my favorite to listen on. They last forever, they sound great with a balanced sound profile with decent bass. I'm not an electronic music listener. They handle rock, blues, metal, and folk with ease. I listen to movies on them and they do amazingly. The ANC is incredible. If my son is playing Xbox while I'm on my ipad or laptop in the same room I just turn the ANC on and I cannot hear anything but my audio source. The sound reproduction does miss some subtilties that I hear on my Momentum 3 true wireless or my Sony WF 10000 mk5. Which is a bit odd. It just changes the sound of the snare hit ever so slightly and sounds a bit more compressed. That is my only nitpick and only in 2 or 3 songs that I've noticed. Read more

Let me say upfront I am a long-time audiophile. I've been immersed in all things high-end audio for more than 40 years, and listened to a lot of stuff, including headphones. Until recently, I've avoided all BT/wireless headphones because they presented too much compromise for my tastes. Noise cancellation adversely effected audio quality and/or gave me a headache. Bluetooth simply didn't cut it for prolonged enjoyment because of the lower, compressed resolution and frequency. But, that all changed in late 2022. On a whim, I tried the newish Sony WH-1000XM5 and was surprised at how good they sounded. The noise cancellation was excellent with little of the rushing elevator sound--and boy, the sound was terrific. For the first time I felt like using a wireless headphone wasn't a big step-down from wired. The M5's soundstage was truly impressive, rivaling my Focal Clear MG wired 'phones. Plus, the M5s were much lighter, more portable, and a bit more fun. The new Sony's were a magnitude better than the older Sonys, as well as anything wireless I'd heard before. That got me wondering: If the Sony's are this good, maybe something by Bowers and Wilkins or Sennheiser would be even better. After all, Sony caters to the mass market, which is generally not that discerning when it comes to audio. Whereas, B&W and Sennheiser typically aim more for the smaller, high-end, audiophile market. So, I started comparing the MX5 to the new B&W Px7 S2 and new Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless. Here's what I found: In the past, like the Sonys, the B&Ws and Sennheiser wireless 'phones were disappointments, falling far short (for me) of their wired, non-NC counterparts. No longer, because the new models are dramatically better. Without going into lots of detail (something audiophiles love to do), both the Px7 S2 and the Momentum 4 are a leap forward in every way than their predecessors. Are they better than the MX5, yes, but not by much. As others have said, the MX5 has better software, better NC, is very portable, and pretty comfortable. For many, the slight compromise in audio quality may not be a big deal. I could easily live with the MX5. However, my priority is sound quality since I seldom use NC, and, even if the software of the B&Ws and Sennheisers is only acceptable. Therefore, it came down to the Px7 S2 vs. Momentum 4 for me. The Px7 S2 is much nicer to look at, exuding high quality. The Momentum 4, not so much. In fact, they look like an MX5 knock-off with a few upscale touches. The software of both the Px7 S2 and Momentum 4 is mediocre at best, albeit functional. Now about the sound. The Px7 S2 sound really, really good. Bass, Midrange, Treble are all top notch, if not perfect. They're fun to listen to, with a wide soundstage and energetic dynamics. That said, they're tuned to emphasize the lower frequencies a bit too much for my tastes. At first, this makes music and voices more vibrant and robust, but, over time, it gets tiring, and you're realize what you're hearing isn't all that accurate. If I hadn't listened to the Momentum 4s, I probably would have been quite happy with the Px7 S2. But, I did listen to the Momentum 4. It edges out thePx7 S2 and MX5 with its overall excellent balance and accuracy. Nothing is exaggerated: voices, instruments, timbre, tone are all just right to my ears. Maybe not as exciting as the Px7 S2 upon first listen, but the Momentum 4s seduce you the more you use them. There's no need for lots of equalization, or fiddling to get the sound right; its all been done at the factory. Besides the accurate representation of voices and instruments, the Momentum 4s are monsters when it comes to soundstage. The placement of everything is wide, yet accurate. You can feel the space and air between different instruments, and where the singer is in the studio or stage. Layering and detail are pretty amazing considering these are bluetooth, closed-back 'phones. Sennheiser (Actually: Sonova, because Sennheiser sold their headphone division to this maker of hearing aids in 2021.) did their homework when it came to the Momentum 4. Plus, that 60 hours of battery life is icing on the cake. Let me say this in conclusion. You won't go wrong with any of these three headphones. They're all great. I preferred the Momentum 4 because it represents the overall most satisfying package for the money, but you might prefer the Px7 S2, or the MX5, more. One last word, regarding the buggy software of the Momentum 4: I found none. With the latest updates, Sennheiser/Sonova seems have fixed the issues of poor connectivity and consistency. I upgraded from a Momentum 3 with a Creative BT-W3 dongle for atpX Low Latency. I upgraded to the Momentum 4 with an Avantree DG60P dongle for aptX Adaptive in low latency mode. This allows for PC gaming on Windows with great audio quality and no perceptible latency. I am extremely happy with the upgrade. (Note: though it supports aptX Adaptive, Sennheiser's own BTD600 dongle is not well suited for gaming, due to its high latency.) Comfort: Comfort was my main reason for upgrading from the Momentum 3. It's very satisfactory on the M4. It's better than the Sony XM5, and far better than the M3, but many say that the Bose QC Ultra is better. I've only briefly tested the Ultra, but this seems right to me. The headbands on the M3 and XM5 both get quite uncomfortable after a few hours. Design: The black and copper design has been my favorite of any headphones I've owned so far, even worth the extra $30 to me. The case is also sleek and feels premium. Sennheiser has taken a more "boring" modern design this generation but the result outclasses the XM5 and QC Ultra in my personal opinion. Sound: The sound quality is a noticeable step up from the M3, and the M4 is my favorite sound signature compared to the current generation's Sony XM5 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra. The EQ is highly customizable in the app. Sennheiser is famous for its audio for a reason. Companion App: Easy to use and convenient for managing your connected devices / checking codecs. You can even see the codec being used when playing audio from a different device. The Sony app has more features and is generally better. Both apps are simple and functional, which I like. The Bose app is a pain every time I have to use it: failing to identify devices, failing firmware updates and necessitating factory resets, forcing between ANC/transparency with no "off" setting, and having the least useful equalizer of the three apps. Touch Controls: A big upgrade over the tiny buttons on the M3. They feel on par with the touch controls on the XM5. Gestures: Unfortunately the controls are not customizable, but they are simple and do everything I need. The XM5 has more useful gestures/features, such as cupping your hand for temporary transparency, or activating transparency by speaking. Active Noise Cancellation: it's pretty good, definitely better than the M3. But today's XM5 and Bose QC Ultra do better. Its intensity is customizable via the app. Transparent Hearing: It's loud & clear, but doesn't sound very natural. It sounds more like a recording. Also customizable in the app. I think the XM5 does this better. I haven't tested the QC Ultra on this. The auto-on / auto-off feature is extremely convenient. By putting the M4s in the case, it will automatically turn off. Taking them out of the case will automatically turn them back on. This is equivalent to the M3s, which would turn on by unfolding them. Multipoint makes for a pleasingly simple experience. I don't have to spend time pressing buttons to turn the device on/off or pair. I just put the headphones on and start playing audio from either my PC or phone. I haven't tested the battery life, but it dominates the market right now at ~60hrs. Not so useful for my situation but great for travel. Conclusion: All-around fantastic headphones with many strengths and no major weaknesses. If you care about design, wireless PC gaming, battery life, or sound quality, the Momentum 4 is a clear winner coming in at a lower price. Depending on your situation, you may be better off with the Sony XM5 (for features/ANC) or the Bose QuietComfort Ultra (for comfort/ANC). Read more

If you want a pair of headphones that will surround you with clear, distortion-free music without an over or under emphasis these might be what you are looking for. The soundstage is wide and details I've never ever noticed before appear. The earphones are well cushioned and comfortable. The pressure is a bit stronger than many headphones but I don't find them uncomfortable to wear and the pressure adds to their noise isolation along with an effective ANC. The software allows for fine tuning though I like the sound out of the box. The phones come with a hard case and an amazing 60 hours between charges. Picked up these headphones and was super excited as i had tried the xm5 and whilst the ANC was great in that headphone Vs the Momentum, the overall sound was muddy. In this the music and sound is much much better, mic/ anc are decent enough for me. The reason why i returned is that Sennheiser needs to address their quality control issues. From the first listen, there was an audible imbalance in the sound. Left ear has more volume Vs right ear, had to adjust the ear balance speaker on my android to make it left bias to counter the imbalance. very annoying. realized when i checked online, it is an issue with a lot of Sennheiser headphones and apparently the latest firmware doesn't help much either. To be clear - I have returned these. There is nothing inherently wrong with them at this price point but the build and sound quality are only decent and nothing to write home about. My biggest issues where the latex material on the underside of the headband and the lack of energy in the sound. These are a good example of a bass that is prominent but needs to be tighter. They sound muddy to me in lots of songs even after changing EQ. Underwhelmed is the word, but will do the job for some people. Best purchase of the year. I travel a lot and I use headphones most of the times for errands and shopping. Idk if its really THAT sound proof but it's great. The quality is great and it doesn't hurt my ears and isn't too heavy for me. I currently own the Sennheiser Momentum 3 (M3) headphones, but I need an additional pair to replace my old, reliable Momentum 2 (M2), which unfortunately has a battery issue. Even after replacing the battery, the M2 still doesn’t work wirelessly. Initially, I thought there wasn’t much difference between the M3 and the Momentum 4 (M4) in terms of sound quality, as both have the same 42mm driver. However, after switching the Bluetooth codec to aptX Adaptive, which supports high bitrate, I noticed a significant improvement in sound quality while listening to music on YouTube. Despite YouTube not being the best audio source, the sound became clearer with resonant bass. Although I’m not an expert, I really enjoy the sound, making the M4 a worthwhile upgrade from the M3. The M4 boasts a 60-hour battery life, a touchpad, increased comfort, significantly improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and support for aptX Adaptive, which is comparable to Sony’s LDAC codec. On the other hand, my Sony WH-1000XM3 and XM4 support LDAC but don’t deliver the same high-quality sound. We appreciate Sony for its ANC and comfort, but not for its sound quality. In our opinion, the Bose QuietComfort 35 and the new QuietComfort models offer better sound quality than Sony, though they lack the bass presence of the M3 and M4. If we were to consider another pair of headphones, we would likely choose the Bose QC Ultra due to its support for aptX Adaptive. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. I prefer Sennheiser for its sound quality, while my wife prefers Bose for its comfort and superior ANC. It’s fortunate that we don’t prefer the same headphones! Read more
