Easy to use. Does everything it says it will beautifully. Amazon price made the Tokit Omni Cook well worth buying. Only one critism is that the manual is sadly lacking for such a technically advanced device, which is very common these days. However, in saying that, I have found Tokit Customer Service outstanding in their response to my requests for further info and instructions. It does deserve the 5 Stars overall. Wifi connectivity is poor, even when other devices have no issues connecting. Food turns out to be very moist, fried rice turns out to be like thick porridge. Fried noodles turns out like baby mash food. Maybe I’m getting the settings wrong (only cooking on full manual mode). The plastic stirrer that sits on the rotor blade gets cuts by the blade if it dislodges while cooking. The cuts on plastic could breed bacteria. Plastic lid stains very easily. Food gets curled and knotted around the rotor stem and blade. Bottom of cooking pot stains with food and not easy to remove. Have to treat it like a cast iron pan. The small edges between the rotor blades trap food and it’s not easy to totally clean them as well. Otherwise it has a comparatively small footprint for cooking a meal, and doesn’t lead to much oil and greasy smoke. Read more

I bought the Tokit Omni Cook based on it being highly rated online and because the competitor product Thermomix TM6 had a 6-8 week lead time. It was 24% off on Amazon making it £858, so a couple of hundred pounds cheaper than a new Thermomix as well. The machine feels and looks high quality, and in my opinion more stylish and modern than a Thermomix. The screen and control knob are nice to use. I have absolutely no complaint about the device itself, it's beautifully designed. The only minor issue I had with the design was that I could put the lid on and turn it into a "locked" position without the lid being on straight, meaning that it wasn't sealed on one side and the contents could leak through during mixing. One other thing I felt was that the edges of the opening of the steel bowl felt more “raw” than I would expect for a high priced item… I found myself consciously trying to avoid handling that area too much with my bare hands in case it nicked my skin. The bowl of the secondhand Thermomix I later bought feels better finished. I loved the physical machine but unfortunately had to return it as I found the recipes on their cloud platform (Cooknjoy) too limited and the website slow and clunky, and there is no mobile app as far as I could see. There were barely a handful of recipes I could see myself trying for my family. They are also mostly Asian recipes (e.g. there are at least six lotus root-based recipes but only one risotto). Even if they added thousands more recipes, the recipe platform functionality is nowhere as advanced or useful as the Cookidoo platform that Thermomix uses. The Tokit certainly has all the prep and cooking features that a Thermomix has, but because of the lack of guided cooking recipes, those features would mostly need to be used manually (i.e. using your own judgement to set the duration, temperature and blade speed for each step of cooking). The Tokit would be useful for people who want to be more “involved” in the cooking process, and who still want to use their brain and creativity while cooking (using the machine's prep and cooking functionality without guided cooking). For people who just want to provide interesting and varied meals for their family with minimal effort, a Thermomix is going to be the better buy, as the Cookidoo recipe platform is so much more established and advanced. If you are trying to decide between Tokit or Thermomix, I recommend first browsing their respective recipe platforms, Cooknjoy and Cookidoo (and the Cookidoo mobile app which I use more than the website), as that will be the main difference, not the physical machines which basically do the same things and are of similar quality. The websites and app are all free to browse (you would need to sign up for the free trial to see the actual cooking steps on Cookidoo though). Yes, Cookidoo has a subscription cost of £40/year (Cooknjoy is completely free) but that's not a high price for the functionality it offers - hundreds of thousands of recipes from around the world, recipe organisation, a meal planner, it can even add required items to your online shopping trolley automatically. It also allows you to create and save your own custom recipes (or modified recipes) which is a feature I didn't think I'd use at first but now I enjoy as it means the recipes previously only stored in my head can now be formalised and saved as guided cooking recipes. The recipes on Cookidoo also have user ratings which are useful as it helps me decide which recipes to try, as any recipe with a rating of 4.5 and over is pretty much a guaranteed success. If you are not interested in any of that, and just want the physical machine, then Tokit is probably fine for you as you won't care that the Cooknjoy platform has only basic functionality. Personally, I have found the Thermomix more useful for my needs, and a secondhand one was cheaper than what I paid for the Tokit. I imagine if you are on the level of a professional chef, you might find the Thermomix and Cookidoo slightly patronising.. for example the Thermomix lid is clamped down for a couple of seconds after each cooking/mixing step, which might get annoying if you are wanting to get into the bowl very frequently. Having said that, the Tokit has a lot of unnecessary jingles and sounds that could irritate some people (others will find them cute), but you can at least control the sounds in the device settings. In summary, I feel without a good recipe platform, the Tokit won’t change your life as it is basically an expensive touch screen-controlled food processor that can also weigh and heat. The machine can do all the things that a Thermomix machine does, but the human still needs to be very involved, making it less of a “smart” cooker and more like any other kitchen appliance. For a regular user, Thermomix opens up more of a universe of ideas and options for daily cooking which therefore makes it much better value as it will be used more. Read more

I like this cooking robot! It really brings more possibilities to my kitchen! It's an all-in-one, one does it all for me. I could cook without any skills or hassle. The cloud recipes have inspired me to try some new things. The recipes of Thermomix are paid yearly, Tokit’s recipes are free!! I have made pizza dough in it, Mexico Chicken Tacos, Baked Vegetable rolls, and soups, and I am really impressed by the Lime Fish Noodles. The video and photos attached are me and my partner having a go at the New York cheesecake we had a lot of fun!!!! The 7-inch touch screen makes it easy to follow the many recipes in the system. Prepare the ingredients, and then follow the recipe step by step. The scale mode could weigh the ingredients correctly. The Cleaning mode really helps me a lot. I put in some water and a few drops of detergent, then it could clean automatically. I am not good at cooking, but this machine really makes me enjoy cooking step by step with fun and good results and experience. I have so many gadgets in my kitchen and yes, I could achieve the same results without the TOKIT, but using the TOKIT is so much easier and fun. Being hand held through the steps just makes things so much easier and makes me want to try new things. Before purchasing I did a fair amount of research to compare the TOKIT to the Thermomix, and whilst I haven't actually had any hands on with the Thermomix these are my thoughts... The TOKIT is practically half the price of the Thermomix and as far as hardware and capabilities are concerned they are, in my mind, essentially the same. Actually, I'd argue that the TOKIT is actually better. Where the TOKIT shies in comparison is the software, Cookiedoo is vastly superior in comparison with cookNjoy, not only in the number of recipes but also functionality. That said, and one of my deciding factors for going with TOKIT in the end, is Cookiedoo requires a paid subscription whereas coonNjoy is free for use, no ongoing subscription. That is not to say cookNjoy is bad, it actually has more recipes that I want to try than I think I will ever achieve. Also, if you really want to use Cookiedoo, those recipes can be translated over to the TOKIT, however at the moment it is manual and it is not possible to add your own recipes to the cookNjoy app. I really hope this changes in the future. Some of the cookNjoy recipes could be a little more descriptive in the steps, and some have some of the settings/timings wrong, but overall most of the recipes I have tried have come out perfectly. Their support is also good. I had trouble connecting it to my account due to some region issues, but they got back to me with a solution very quickly, so I am very happy with that. All in all, I'd say if you are considering the Thermomix, save yourself a lot of money and and having to pay for an ongoing subscription, and go for the TOKIT instead. Read more

As a professional chef I have used a Thermomix extensively during my work in kitchens and decided on getting one for use in home and for my private catering business. Whilst researching, I came across the TOKIT and was impressed with the specification and the price point of this machine and decided to purchase this instead of a Thermomix. Two months later and it has proved to be a real winner. Easy to use, good solid design and really stable when blending (unlike a Thermomix!) , it is a great addition to my kitchen and along with an efficient customer service team I am glad that I chose this product. Unlike other reviews, I have had no issues with Wi-Fi connectivity wherever in use it at home or on site when catering for functions. If there was one thing that I would like to see it would be to have an indication of the temperature of the bowl ingredients when the TOKIT is heating up and cooling down. Read more
