Seems to be a decent bench top grinder. Putting this thing together could have been illustrated a little better, especially for the adjustable tool rest. The work light is OK but has a hard time staying in the position I want it to stay. Like a drunk it slowly start leaning backwards or sideways. My big problems is the intermittent noise the motor makes, regardless of speed setting. It's sort of a grinding/humming sound coming from the motor. It may last for a few seconds or even several minutes and then go away. Of course, I check that the noise is not caused by vibration or some other things laying around close by. Even placed the grinder on a concrete floor with the same issues. I can't believe that this is normal and contemplate returning this thing. As a side note, I own for years several other WEN products and am generally very happy with their quality and performance. 7/5/2024 update. Not using it on a daily basis. So far so good. I am used to the"drunken" work light. A little push one in a while and the guy stands up again. The only other new thing is when turning the machine off. The wheels keep spinning for a very long time, especially when it ran on a high speed. Can take as long as 3 minutes for the wheels to stop spinning. The vibration is still there, but permanently mounted it on a workbench and it got a little better. Read more

I’m a DIYer and woodworker and this Wen grinder fits my needs perfectly. Assembly was pretty easy, although I found aligning and leveling the tool supports to be challenging. I’ve already sharpened chisels and kitchen knives and am very pleased with the ease of effort and the outcome. Yes, the light wiggles around while operating the grinder but I’ll find a workaround to make it stationary. So far, I’m very happy with the value received for the price paid.
