I bought this battery a month ago and while it's too early to rate the longevity I can rate other aspects of the product. My Mac was reporting "replace battery" and the old me would have simply recycled the machine and bought a new computer or gone to the Apple store and have them install the new battery. This time, I decided to do my own research and see if there are more affordable options out there. That led me to two important pieces, a Youtube video on how to install a new battery into a Mac computer and Amazon's page for this product. I am not handy at all when it comes to technology and was a bit nervous to try this on my own. I still pulled the plug and ordered the battery as I learned in the Youtube video that waiting too long can cause the old battery to expand and damage other parts of the machine. The battery arrived the next day (without Prime) and was well packaged. The instructions included on how to install were super clear, but I still followed the Youtube video, just in case. Make sure to work on a non-bouncy surface as the little screws tend to fall off the screwdriver even if it is magnetic. I had to search for them twice under the sofa, lol. Other than this, caused by my own clumsiness, the installation was a piece of cake. The battery comes with two special screwdrivers and one of them fit my Mac. This was super helpful. So far, the battery works really well and is holding the charge the way Mac battery did when I first bought the computer. As for longevity, can't help you with that as it is too early to say.
