I've not had a drone before but in all the drone hype thought it might be fun to see what they were all about. This is a great little starter drone for the inexperienced. It comes ready to fly out of the package. Little set up by downloading the app and watching a preflight video. But I was up and flying in about 3 minutes. Camera works well. Drone package includes extra prop blades, 2 batteries, and charging cords. All you need to get started. I did have one issue with the controller, where it seemed to not charge fully. While the drone battery will last for 20 minutes of flight time... the controller battery only lasted about 5 minutes. I contacted Ruko via email and they were prompt to reply and worked with care to solve the problem. Great support service... which would get them 5 stars. EDIT - Unfortunately... the replacement remote sent has the exact same issue. After several attempts to change and fly... the longest flight time on the remote was 7 minutes. Don't know if it's a defective batch... or if it's just junk... but it is very disappointing to only have 5 minutes or so of flight time to actually use the drone. And I was told that there is no way to change out the battery in the remote... so there is a limited lifespan on the remote right out of the gate. Too bad for me the return window has not closed or I would be returning this product. Which I should have done the minute this issue arose. You'll get good customer service... but it doesn't help if the problem is the product. Drone... good. Drone battery... seems good. Kit components... good. Remote... 2 thumbs down. I can't recommend. Edit follow up - Outstanding customer service! They provided a replacement product without hesitation. The replacement is working as it should. It came packaged in a box with a nice design. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the case was pretty robust. It is heather gray with a sturdy built in handle and case structure that feels like it can adequately protect the drone inside. The zipper is smooth and operates well with no issues. The contents of the case included the drone, extra propellers, remote, phone holder attachment (for remote), 2 batteries, and usb cords for everything. I really liked that it had more than 1 usb cord so I can charge everything at once. The case has a zippered pocket so it makes it easy to keep the cords, propellers, and instructions all in the same case without falling out every time you open the case. At first when I tried installing the battery, I did not feel it “click” into place. It felt wobbly and wouldn’t sit right, and pop out pretty easily. I didn’t realize that there was a thin piece of foam padding in the battery slot which prevented the battery from clicking in place all the way. Once I removed that, everything was good, and it fit fine. Maybe in the future a little sticker or tag that identifies there is a piece of foam there would be helpful. The batteries had a good run time, the times that I flew the drone I did not deplete the batteries. The batteries were able to last longer than I wanted to fly, so that was great. I like that the batteries have a built in meter to determine how much power is left in them. The remote is a good size, fits well in my hands, has plenty of features and the phone attachment arm fit my phone with case great. I have an iPhone 8 Plus with a Magpul case on it. It felt balanced and natural to hold. My favorite features of the remote are the ability to take photos and videos with the push of a button! It allows me to focus on flying but take the photo or video that I want. My next favorite feature is the ability to rotate the gimbal/camera while flying. You are able to adjust the camera up or down, which is great for trying to capture photos or videos from different heights. I wish that the drone had another feature to adjust the camera side to side or keep the horizon stable because if you are taking video, and have to move the drone left or right, the whole camera moves with the drone body as it tilts, and disrupts the steadiness of the frame/video. The follow me mode and encircle mode worked well when I used it. But I made sure I was in an open area with plenty of room. I did not try those features around obstacles like trees or light poles. I wish the range was a little better. I feel that it went out about 100 or 150 feet in an open area before beeping that it was going out of range. I feel like I could have flown it further and higher while still maintaining control and my line of sight. Downloading the app was super quick and easy. The part that I found most difficult about flying the drone was the set up of the app, remote, and drone. I feel like I kept forgetting the process of how to turn on the drone, remote, and app together to get ready for flying. Unfolding the drone was straightforward and simple. But I kept forgetting in which order to turn everything on in. So I kept the quick start guide with me and had to refer to that every time I was going to fly. I guess what I am trying to say is that the start up process is not as intuitive as I hoped for it to have been. I think what would be really cool is if the app prompted you to do the process in order. So let’s say you open app, it would prompt you to turn on the remote, then you click next when that is done, then turn on the drone, click next when that is done, then connect to wifi, click next, then do the calibrations, then the action to turn on the propellers, then have fun and fly! I wish there was also a way to not have to calibrate the drone every single time. I understand this might be needed to be the most accurate, but sometimes the process was quick and easy, and other times it took much longer and I had to restart the app a few times because I felt like it wasn’t working. I also didn’t get the GPS accuracy mode to work, I allowed it to run multiple times, but ended up skipping to get to flying because it was taking too long, even though I was in an open area with a clear view to the sky. I like how the app also has some of the controls as the remote, I feel like I have the options to use the app or the remote to do what I want with the drone. The drone itself seems well built and sturdy for what it is, and I like that it has the built in warning lights. The land and take off mode worked great every time I used it. I did fly the drone in windy conditions at times, it didn’t seem to drift too much, but was a little harder to control, as expected giving the weather conditions. The only issue when flying with a breeze, is that it at times, the drone would lose altitude when trying to climb in altitude and turn or move. Maybe it was due to needed more power while flying in those kind of conditions? Overall I am happy, it is fun to fly and cool to take some aerial photos and videos. The resolution is pretty good. It is what I would expect from something moving in the sky that isn’t super top of the line. I will continue to play around with it and get better at using it. Read more

The Short Story: This is a great drone, at a great price point. It has all the features you would expect. It's foldable, compact, and sturdy with a high build quality. GPS features such as return to home and follow-me work well. It's easy to fly, responsive to controls, stable hovering, batteries last up to 30 mins each (possibly more), and it handles wind reasonably well. It has a decent camera which you can pivot from 0-90 degrees via remote which is great. You can find package deals on Amazon that include an extra battery and spare propellers. It might not be a top-of-the-line DJI Air, but for less than $300 I'd argue you are getting more bang for your buck with the F11 if you are just a casual hobbyist drone pilot. ------------------------------------- Warning - Long read below: This is my fourth drone overall. The first three were all the same model - HS110D by Holy Stone. That was a fantastic entry-level toy drone for less than $80, but after a few months of learning how to fly I was ready to step up to a more intermediate level model. What I was looking for in a new drone: more stability and wind resistance, GPS and related features, longer battery life, and an upgraded camera. So pretty much all the stuff you don't get with a $65 toy drone like the HS110D. After a month or so of comparison shopping on Amazon and YouTube I eventually pulled the trigger on the Ruko F11 Pro. It checked all of the boxes. I wanted to stay at or around $200 but all of the competing models at that price pount were missing one or more of my main criteria, and/or did not fare well in Amazon or YouTube reviews. Battery life was a common compromise for GPS drones under $200. The F11 lasts up to 30 mins per flight which is the best in its class (and it actually lasts longer if you don't record video or use FPV). The F11 Pro comes in a nice, compact, well-organized carrying case. The foam insert has precise cutouts for the drone itself, the controller, a spare battery, and replacement parts. It also has a zipper compartment for any other small items you want to carry. The drone is of great build quality and feels sturdy, it also looks quite nice. The foldable arms feel sturdy, and it takes a little bit of effort to slide them in/out and lock them into position which is great. The user manual is thorough and easy to read and understand - which can be hit or miss with other Chinese drone manufacturers. I had already watched several YouTube videos on the F11 so the manual was more of a refresher and I was ready to take it out for a flight within minutes after the first battery fully charged. Calibration is easy - spinning the drone around one rotation horizontally and once vertically. I've read in a few reviews and in the Q&A that the compass always needs to be calibrated for each flight (which sounds annoying) - but this is not my experience. I have been launching it only from my yard so far, and I rarely re-calibrate. Initiating operations such as compass and gyro calibration, motor stop/start is done by moving the thumb sticks simultaneously in a specific direction. For example, hold them both down and in at the same time to start the motors. The controller is pretty cool - very simple layout, four status LED lights, has fold out antennas, hand grips, and smart phone holder. The phone holder is a bit on the small side; I couldn't fit my Galaxy Note 10 without removing my bulky case first. I purchased a slimmer case and now it fits fine, but not much extra space. The SJ GPS PRO app is pretty good. Before launching it you need to connect to the Drone's Wifi network. It will tell you that the internet is not available - this is fine, since you just need it to connect to the drone. Once you launch the app, select the F11 pro from the drop-down and hit the 'controls' button to take you to the FPV/controls screen where it will display what the drone's camera is seeing. There are several on-screen controls you can use, such as selecting follow-me mode, return to home, etc., and also status info such as drone/controller battery life, as well as height and distance in meters. The settings gear icon will take you to the flight restrictions screen. This is where you can turn beginner mode on/off and change limitations on flight distance, altitude, and return home altitude. You will be in beginner mode by default until you go into the settings and turn it off. So you will notice a geo fence - when you fly more than 30 meters away or 30 meters high the drone will stop and not let you go any further. This is quite useful - I turned beginner mode off but I do keep limitations in place and only extend them if I need to, mid-flight. I have only one complaint with the app - it doesn't blink or beep when the battery starts running low. Yes the battery indicator turns to one red bar, and in the bottom left message section it tells you 'drone low voltage' in small text, but it is quite easy to overlook these when you are keeping your eyes on the drone. This has contributed to my only two crashes so far; I will discuss that in a moment. Taking off is easy - you can do it by activating the motors (thumb sticks down + in) and then using the left stick to manually take off, or use the one-button takeoff/landing. It will hover about 4-5 feet high. When the drone is in GPS mode, hovering stability is pretty impressive. I'm used to my lightweight non-GPS toy drone drifting all over the place, but the F11 will hover in a 2-3 foot radius even in moderate wind which is great. That's actually very useful if you want to put the controller down and let the drone film something from the air on it's own - like kicking a ball around with my daughter. You'll notice that in GPS mode the drone stops sharply when you take your thumb off the right stick. That's because it will stick to the GPS coordinates at the very spot where you let go of the stick. In non-GPS mode the drone will continue to glide for a bit after you let go of the right stick. That can give flying a bit of a 'sportier' feel, but you will not have any GPS functions available to you - most importantly the return to home function. The GPS features work pretty well. Sometimes the target tracking mode takes a few attempts to lock on to the target (by drawing a rectangle in the app) or it will lose the target if it moves too fast. Follow-me works well. Return to home is probably the most important of these features - it will prevent you from losing the drone if it flies out of controller range or if you just want it to come back ASAP for any reaason. It's pretty accurate - lands within a 5 foot radius from where it took off. One of the things I learned the hard way is that the drone will not rise to its return home elevation unless it's flying high/far enough away AND you press the return home button. Otherwise it will just head right back to the takeoff spot. I didn't know that, and when the battery ran low the drone just headed right back to the takeoff spot. That wouldn't usually be a big deal, but there happened to be a tree in the way. When the drone activates low battery return home you can no longer steer it. So since it was headed right for the tree and I couldn't control it I had to kill the motors mid-flight. It crash landed into (thankfully) a pile of leaves and twigs which broke the fall nicely. I emailed Ruko support and they got back to me the next morning explaining the the drone will not rise to return home altitude unless it is at least 20 meters away and you hit the RH button. This happened to me again a week later - I was flying the drone in my yard and didn't notice the battery had went low. The app doesn't blink or beep or anything to grab your attention. I had moved from the takeoff point while flying, so when the low battery return home kicked in it veered sharp right and I couldn't control it. This time I couldn't kill the motors in time and it crashed violently into my shed and landed hard on gravel. It sustained some superficial nicks on the body of the drone and on the propellers but after swapping in a new battery it was able to continue flying with no issue. I cringed when I saw how hard it crashed, but was glad to see that there was no real damage. So this drone is built solid and sturdy. I have gradually grown more confident in flying farther and higher, even in some wind (although I wouldn't recommend flying in 15+ mph wind) thanks to the dependability/stability of the drone. I would not dare to fly my previous drone higher than 50 feet or farther than 200 ft since it did not have GPS and as such was not stable, especially in any wind. The F11 has a solid camera, but no gimbal or EIS. So there will be some shakiness to your video and the image will tilt when the drone tilts. You can get reasonable smooth video in very low winds and while flying it at very low speeds. The video resolution is not 4K - according to the manual only still pictures are shot in 4K, video is in 1080p when stored to micro sd card. Only 32GB cards will work - I tried my 64GB and 128GB with no luck. The recorded video is reasonably crisp for a casual hobby drone. I might opt for a step up with my next drone purchase, with a true 4K video camera and gimbal/EIS. The F11 GIM has these features and I was considering it, but ultimately the lower price and slightly better battery life on the F11 Pro won me over. You can rotate the camera from 0-90 degrees via controller which is very handy. You can't zoom though, another feature available on higher tier drones. Flight controls are very responsive and accurate - the drone maneuvers quite well and is fairly fast and agile, especially at speed level 3. The FPV range is decent but nowhere near what they advertise, at least in my experience. I haven't lost FPV transmission yet but it does begin to lag pretty bad when farther than say 200 meters or so. To be fair, there are trees that might be getting in the way of the FPV transmission, so I will test this out when I take it for a flight in a completely open area. The battery life is outstanding. I timed it twice: the first time I flew it high and very far away, switching between medium and high speed settings throughout the flight, while taking video the whole time. It lasted over 28 minutes. The second time I let it hover in place, and minimized the video recording and FPV - over 32 minutes! So it might get close to 35 minutes with zero recording, no FPV, and hovering in place. But for practical purposes you will get very close to 30 minutes per battery which is the best you will find at this price point, and probably even if you go $200 higher. In summary, I am very impressed and satisfied with this drone and it has surpassed my expectations. I don't feel a need to upgrade anytime soon, and hopefully it will last at least 1-2 years. If you are looking for a beginner-intermediate level drone with the full suite of GPS features, decent camera, loooong battery life, long transmission range, solid build quality, and on the lower end of the budget spectrum then I don't think you will be able to find a better model than the F11 Pro. Exactly as described!! This drone makes you feel like a veteran flier on the first day. Very easy to use. I had a lot of concerns, from connectivity to the quality of the drone to the ease of use... the list goes on. Pros: Easy to use Excellent battery life Excellent Range Auto hover feature Follow feature Excellent camera quality Very durable I flew this drone around our property quite a bit. I originally wanted something to play with that I could also use to keep an eye on the pastures for coyotes so I wouldn't have to constantly walk out on the property. This drone does all of that for me now. I can fly by camera or fly by sight. I am very pleased with this drone and its quality. I live out in the country and part of that is trees. The instructions obviously say to fly it in open areas like fields parks etc... but we don't all have access to areas like that. This drone handles very well, and negotiating the obstacles of trees was a much easier learning curve than I expected. As far as durability, I got more confident as I flew, so I flew faster around those trees, and the inevitable happened... I crashed, and several times... those tree branches come out of nowhere???!! So after several high speed interventions one of the propeller assemblies finally failed (they handle impacts quite well all things considered). No problem!! In just a couple of minutes, I had taken out 2 screws and installed one of the spare propeller assemblies, (included in my purchase, thank you Ruko), and I was back in business. Cons: none really...the closest I can come to a con is the set up instructions... I went through the instructions a couple of times, and there is a step in there where it says to connect to the wifi. That is the sum of its clarity. After a couple of youtube videos I determined through visual recognition that that's not EXACTLY what they meant. If you're like me, your phone is already connected to wifi... lol. What they mean in that step is to connect your phone to the DRONE via a wifi signal that the drone generates while in that phase of the setup. And this was a little thing that didn't take me too long to figure out. So if that's the only drawback of this drone I can come up with, I think they are doing pretty well. I would DEFINITELY recommend this drone to a friend! Worth every penny. I have flown drones for years and have owned more than 40 from toys to a DJI Inspiire. I purchased the F11 GPS drone because of the perceived value for a foldable 1080p GPS drone with a case and multiple batteries with a advertised flight time of 30 minutes. All all the drones in this category, so far the Roku F11 is setting a new standard for functionality, features, and flight time at this price point. First you have to know that it's not a DJI drone and should not be compared to any of them. First the DJI are the industry best but you paying for it. I received the F11 today and the packaging is more than adequate. Nothing special but it protects the F11 during shipment. It does come with a very basic case which holds the remote controller, F11 drone, spare blades, and two spare batteries. It has documentation which is better than the average Chinese drone user guides. It was a really good quick start guide though. Overall, the F11 is light and feels well built for the price point. With the battery removed it's very light. The arms snap in and out while locking in place. It feels good. Now for the my initial flights: The startup steps of pairing the F11 drone to the remote and calibrating the compass is pretty simple. However, it appears that it must be done before every series of flights. I'm hoping this is not correct as it will be a slight pain. The remote controller is about the same size of all others and it built pretty well with the basic controls. The tests were to fly around in the 30 meter perimeter to see how it handles in the wind, how the perimeter works, and see how long the battery actually lasts. It was very windy with gust of 15 - 25 mph. I was using it with the beginner settings which was nice on this windy day. The F11 would hold position really well during light wind gusts. However, during the bigger gusts it was being blown around and seriously fighting to maintain the position and altitude. The perimeter worked well too. The battery averaged 23 minutes before the low voltage warning and 26 minutes until it automatically landed. The video looked good but I didn't tests the distance as it was to windy and I was using the beginner perimeter. I did not test the advance app settings as it was too windy. I'll test it next time. However, at this price point and 23 minutes of flight time make the F11 a very good buy and keeper. Read more

The drone came in on time and it was packaged well. Everything was also neatly packed into a storage bag it came with which was really awesome. It also came with two batteries and a variety of charging cords for different charging options which is very useful. I have a few drones I use at work. I wanted a quality drone that didn’t break the bank I could use at my property. The appearance of this drone is very nice and it has a wide age range because of ease of use. The controls are easy to use because the controller comes with a cheat sheet that you can remove once you get used to the directions. Once it was charged, connecting it was pretty easy and this drone was in the air. Performance was great and connectivity was spot on. After just a little bit, connectivity between the drone and controller was spotty. After reconnecting a few times and recalibrating, the drone took a hard crash. The drone was fine and didn’t fall apart. The battery fell out but went right back in. The seller reached out to me just to make sure all was well. I explained what was happening and they were awesome! The seller is 100% committed to customer satisfaction! They went out of their way and bent over backwards to make sure I was happy. These folks are fantastic! This drone really is a great product. It works like a champ once the kinks were addressed and this drone is tough! It is robust! Well packed and everything looks perfect. But all screws of the fans were not tightened well. And during the first fly itself right limb stopped functioning and fell down. I followed all instructions mentioned the videos and this is the first time I experienced with this issues from a drone. May be I received a product with malfunction. Read more
