they fit great. but i can tell after owning them a few months they wont last more than a year and that's being generous. the soles won't last and they could be more comfortable. not much in the way of padding. whatever they brag about with the memory foam is really just a gimmick. they aren't bad but they could definitely be better. comfort and longevity being the weak points. I used a pair of Ultra 4 for a year on hikes ranging from 3 to 8 miles. The Ultra Pioneers are as good in most ways and better in one key feature. They have equal levels for traction and stability. If you are scaling rocks these are very sturdy with exceptional grip on sandy, dusty rock. Time will tell if they are as durable but it’s all the same material so it should be fine. Where they’re superior is the lacing. The Ultra 4 has an auto lacing system that I did not like. It was impossible to tightening differently from bottom to top and it constantly loosened on hikes. The Ultra Pioneers has standard laces which I find to be much easier to get the right fit. YMMV. Overall, great hiking shoes. Read more
