Having now used the machine, I think it will take me a little time and experimentation to find the perfect nib for the job. My previous pyrography pen, which I had for over a quarter of a century before it gave up the ghost, was one for which one could make one’s own nibs out of the special wire provided. My hand had got used to the feel of the barrel of the pen, which was narrower than this new one. Rather like an author losing a favourite fountain pen, it will take a while to get to grips with the new one. My old one packed in on Saturday, I ordered the new one on Sunday, delivered Monday. Excellent service from Amazon, and all involved. My previous machine for those interested was a Peter Child one., and to last for a quarter of a century or more of constant use speaks volumes for the company and their product. I hope I’ll still have this one in 2050. I’ll be 105 then so it’ll outlast me I expect. !!! I shall probably up the star rating when I’ve had it a while. Or possibly not.!! Read more

I bought a wood burner etcher for the 1st time last year and really struggled with it, really put me off using one. This year, I wanted to change the packaging of the crystal sets that I sell and thought I would give wood burning another go. Spent 2 days perusing through Amazon, and decided to choose this one. This was a game changer for me, so easy to use and made wood burning enjoyable!!!
